Last NY shots and back to Istanbul

Fred Cost “This CSMS replaces the current CSMS that was built in 1952, during the Korean War. So what we’re looking at here is a new maintenance shop for the next 50 years”

“Who knows what will be rolling into our maintenance shop in 50 years, but we need to be ready for it.”

Gen Berry “This is a really big project for us, and this is a 50 year expected life-span on this building as it gets done. It’s not only good for the Delaware National Guard, it’s really good for New Castle County and exceptionally good for the entire state of Delaware”

“This building will be worthy of representing all of our Guard members and will accurately reflect the pride, professionalism and the service of our men and women.”

“We continually are looking for efficiencies. And this is just another representation of how the Delaware National Guard is making smart choices to reduce our footprint, and yet remain ready, responsive and respected.”

Replace the caliper mount and pads. (They went on MUCH easier than they came off).

The original garage roof was made with 2x4 rafters. Which after 20 years began to warp under the weight of the snow. My first big job was the replacing of the rafters with proper 2x8s which can be insulated and made the whole structure much safer.

Replacing an electricity junction

Replacing an earlier digital photo with a better version 21-Apr-24.

A very confused and confusing history, and very long!

First flown as a Do.328-300JET with the Dornier test registration D-BDXN in Nov-01, this aircraft didn't have a good start to life.

It was originally painted in Air Namibia livery but was repainted in United Express livery by Oct-02. It was originally due for delivery to Modern Air (Germany) as D-BMAH, but not taken up. Then it was for Air Namibia as V5-NMC, again not taken up.

It was due to be re-registered D-BDMO for an appearance at ILA Berlin but that didn't happen. After that it was due for delivery to Atlantic Coast Jet operating as United Express, not taken up! The aircraft was re-registered D-BDXN again in Jul-04 and was displayed at the 'Farnborough Air Show 2004'.

In Sep-04 it was leased to Jet Alliance Flugbetriebes (Austria) as OE-HAA and immediately sub-leased to Club Airways (Bookajet) (UK) using Jet Alliance's AOC. It was sub-leased, short-term, to EuroManx Airlines in Feb-05.

The aircraft was converted to Do.3280310JET standard in Sep-05 and re-registered G-CJAB with Club 328. It was withdrawn from service and stored at Biggin Hill, UK in Jan-09 and returned to Jet Alliance around Mar-09 and moved to the Dornier airfield at Oberpfaffenhofen, Germany for further storage.

In late 2012 it was re-registered D-BDBJ with 328 Support Services GmbH and remained stored until it was leased to Air Peace (Nigeria) as 5N-BQV in Oct-13. It was returned to 328 Support Services at the end of Apr-15 and stored at Billund, Denmark.

The aircraft was sold to Sun-Air of Scandinavia as OY-JJG in Jun-15 and operated in ex Air Peace livery on behalf of JoinJet. It was also used occasionally on Sun-Air scheduled services.

The aircraft was stored at Aarhus, Denmark in Mar-20 as a consequence of the COVID-19 Pandemic and moved to Billund in Jun-20 for further storage. It doesn't appear to have flown since and is possibly permanently retired. Updated 21-Apr-24.

Getting a start. Friday night.

In the wake of the Rudd Government’s backflip on climate change and uncertainty about the future of carbon pricing, environment and community groups rallied outside Parliament House to call for the replacement of Australia’s dirtiest power station.

Hundreds of people gathered on the steps of Parliament House to urge Premier Brumby and Ted Baillieu to commit to replacing Hazelwood coal-fired power station with clean energy by 2012 as a key plank of their election platform.

DAY 03 - Replacing the OLD furnace with a new high efficiency model, plus adding central air conditioning and adding an on-demand hot water heater. June 2018

Darwin AI founder Sheldon Fernandez asked the audience at Regis College Jan. 21 to imagine a world where machines can accomplish 90 or 95 per cent of all the work now performed by people.
