The Rapier anti-aircraft missile system entered service with the British Army in 1971. It then replaced all other anti-aircraft missiles and while new designs have been introduced they are likely to remain in use until at least 2020.
The complete system comprises a launcher with its missiles and guidance radar, a separate acquisition and tracking radar and a command post. The missile has a warhead of one pound of high explosive, a control system and motor section with a 2-stage solid fuel motor that gives a flight time of 15 seconds. The control surfaces provide in-flight directional changes and the missiles are fitted with rear mounted flares to enable TV tracking while in flight. This Mk.1 explodes on contact with the target but later versions have a proximity fuse.
Rapier systems have been sold around the world and have been used in the Falklands, Iran - Iraq, and Gulf Wars to protect against enemy aircraft. they were even deployed in London in 2012 to provide security for the Olympic Games.

Just messing around with Photoshop. The colour pallet was borrowed from an Autumn leaves photo I took a few months ago. Think the photo looks warmer and more pleasing than the other Ellie pic...
Replacing the angular 155 saloon, the 156 Berlina was introduced in 1997 with a softer and more rounded design. It is a very attractive car, and was also available as an estate (Sportwagon). Petrol and diesel engines were available, as well as a GTA high performance model. It was updated in 2003 to keep the car fresh until the 159 replaced it in 2005 (though the 156 was available in some markets until 2007).
