I had to use flash to take this picture, but her repaint is finished. I just love her face shape, but wanted round beady eyes for her.

One of the hardest dollhobby challenges this year.
I spent almost three months far away from my collection, in a city where there are plenty of Chinese and Corean dolls on the shelves. And on the local web marketplaces, too. As a result, I started looking through those dolls.
One of them online stroke me as exquisitely attractive. There was something frail and delicate about her, like a magnolia petal. Even though I had been aware that promo photos might flatter the doll, I ordered her. The promo is up right.
What I got instead is bottom right. IDK if the difference is clear or not, for me it was a profound shock. Let alone her mousey hair and the annoying black spot on her upper lip that wouldn't go however deeply I carved. The main thing is, she strongly reminded me of a girl in the neighbourhood who I cannot stand for her appearance. Yeah I know it's not good but. For some reason the whole family looks like big, nasty and extremely cunning rodents... I guess the familial temper contributes to the impression. Extremely cunning, is what they are.
In an attempt to override the initial shock I bought four more Asian dolls. Meanwhile, I've been trying to somehow repaint her face, making her look like a Chinese princess instead of that half-mouse girl. The present attempt looks awful in zoom, I know. I barely draw so am anaware of color pencils', markers' etc. properties. Hence multiple repaints of her lips and eyes and black&red smeared all over her face. But, as SPN's Castiel would probably say, we'll sort it out as we go.

First time painting some flowers on a doll ♥ I really like her repaint ♥
This is the first Tinkerbell which has no hair on her headback, so she was perfect to give her acrylic eyes ♥
Her legs are a bit loose so she can't stand very well and her right arm didn't fit on the shoulder joint, so I tried to fix it and it suddenly came off... That wouldn't be a problem at all because I took off Ellies arms as well, but Tinkerbells arm doesn't - fit - anymore.... So she's single-armed.
As if that weren't enough her head came off when my sister put her eyes in... and it broke~ off, so we can't put it back on her neck...
I'm so frustrated that she's just a head now with a floating body with just one arm... And I really like how she looks with the flowers and the eyelashes... so, yay, a cute Tinkerbell head...! +sigh+

Justine was repainted after I accidentally ruined her stock makeup in a well-meaning attempt to de-glitter her eyeshadow. Despite the mishap, I think she turned out pretty well. :)

Here's how my pink haired girl first looked. I repainted her about six or so months later. It's fun to see how far I've come. I tend to update some of my dolls as I improve. She's not to bad here, but looks much better now. I won't repaint her again though, as i'm happy with her.

I removed her bangs and rerooted that area only with dyed human hair. She also has rooted lashes. All done in knot method.
My first try repainting a Monster High doll and...I don't know if I like it, as a matter of fact, I think I'm a little disappointed. She's not awful, but she doesn't do anything for me either.
My boyfriend says I should have given her big buggy creepy fish eyes, and maybe I should have. So if you have an opinion about her, please chuck it out there. I think I'll give her a few days and if I don't warm up to her I'll wipe her and start over.
