My third Elsa repaint, this time it´s a commissioned work. Classic Disney Store Elsa doll repainted with a particular expression, but as the Snow Queen. The expression she chose is quite similar to my first repaint...
She has a full facial repaint with acrylic paint after removing the factory paint. Her hair is restyled.

Quero sugestões pra nomes.
OH cripes... now I have to sculpt her some horns.. but i'm now not sure where to attach them to her. *sigh*
Here is a repaint I did recently. I really love how she turned out. Her eyes are done with metallic paint, so they really catch the light.

I love the way the pictures of her turned out. My stepmother, Carol, took these pictures with her expensive camera and compared to my camera you can really see the difference in picture quality. This is basically what she looks like in real life.
I'm thinking of taking commissions, anyone interested?

Still learning, this is my 3rd repaint. I really hated the face that came with Barbie Basics model #5. Those eyes eh.
So I took my remover to her eyes just a little... then whoops. I took the whole eye. So I gave up and wiped the whole face and started from scratch.

I like how Tessa (formerly a Skull Shore Ghoulia) came out :D I still have to re-root her but hey, I'm very happy with the painting job :P The tattoos I could have done better, I know!
So, these are photos I took during the repaint process. I'm no professional repainter and my skills are nothing compared to others here on flickr ; ). But since the doll's face wasn't actually part of the contest entry, I could do the repaint myself and was content with it.
It's funny that, although both dolls have the same inspiration doll and I definetely used the same photos for reference, they turned out slightly different. So the new doll actually is no Peony II.
When I decided on using "Midnight Poem" as the title for my design, I discovered that there actually is a very famous poem by the greek poet Sappho with this title. I loved that! Peony's doppelganger has been called Sappho since then ; )

My inspiration doll was the regrettably never produced prototype doll of the “Poetry in motion” Poppy Parker fashion that was released in 2009, Poppy’s first year. The original outfit was clearly a daytime fashion, so I chose to transform it into a nighttime gown that Poppy might wear at Prom or on a date night with Chip (yes, here is someone still shipping her with Chip).
When thinking about what to take from the original design and what to leave, I asked myself which parts I felt were the most significant of the outfit. It was soon clear that I especially loved the color scheme with satin white, midnight blue and fuchsia pink that kind of echoes the Poppy Parker box’s pink sash. For the gown itself I wanted to keep the beautiful white bodice and pair it with a full midnight blue skirt. My favourite part from “Poetry in motion” probably is the pink belt, so I kept the idea and rearranged it into a sewn on draped fuchsia sash that overlaps in the front. Since a lot of original dresses from the sixties featured a prominent bow, so I played along and made a pink satin bow with the twist of it being de- and reattachable easily with a hook in case Poppy might want to sport a more modern look without a bow ; ).
The outfit consists of a separated top and skirt, just like the inspirational design.
Poppy wears a black tulle petticoat underneath, black tights, black satin shoes and decided on dark blue earrings and a delicate bracelet made from white pearl beads and crystal beads.
The doll itself is my beloved “Peony” Parker, formerly one of the Mood Changer Poppy dolls. I’ve repainted her in reference to the “Poetry in motion” prototype doll and gave her a hairstyle that was inspired by sixties prom hairstyles.
The metal vanguard sergeant on the left is one of the first models I ever painted. I gave him a fresh new look and replaced his arms with new ones from the plastic vanguard box. The old metal arms have been kitbashed on the new plastic librarian.
So I wiped off the faces of five different monster high girls yesterday.
Today after work I will try to work on them. I have to clean my airbrush first, as I forgot to do that last time..
So... In the time between now and when I go to work on them.. I really need to figure out exactly what kind of personality I want the face to convey! I already know for the sea girl and jinafire, but the others.... I don't really know what I want to do with them!
I went ahead and wiped them though, as I'm hopeful that ill be struck with an idea soon ^^
I'll share when they're done, I took close ups before wiping them too, so the difference can be seen (Hurray before and after shots!).
