RTL 1014 Reg KYY 712 shortly after arrival outside Mardens yard in Benfleet 21st November 2012 for repainting.
It was repatriated from California and was sold in view of it not being able to meet US emission standards.

So after…. 8+ years, my acetone shrunk Lumina head finally got a proper face up. Even when I was younger I wanted her to have a momoko style face up so I finally did it. Now to try making a wig when I can…
And yeah, I finally repainted Sailor Jupiter too, though I feel like my Anime face skills haven’t progressed further than my 14 year old’s doodles in the paper margins.
Here's my Rochelle repaint... I wanted her to have a softer faceup... I love the doll, but wasn't fond of MH's harsh makeup.
Monster High Dead Tired Cleo de Nile repaint. Finally got around to it, painted her yesterday. I thought it would be a good idea to paint some henna-patterns on her hands... Her teeny, tiny hands. That was quite hard and ended up a bit too messy for my tastes, but for now, it'll have to do and I'm not sure I want to redo it, ever xD
I also made the saree, though I'm either going to buy or make her a better one in the future.

And then there was one. One more bus, then it was time to go home. When Queens Road first fell to Go-Ahead, a notable early sight was First's batch of 14 Volvo B5LHs sporting Go-Ahead fleetnames before slowly being refurbished into version 1 of Go North West's blue, grey and orange livery... eventually superseded by Stenning's variant when they decided 'We Are Buzz' wasn't doing a good enough job with it.
Then, Queens Road fell again, this time to Stagecoach under Tranche 2 of the Bee Network. With the garage came it's entire allocation of Volvo B5LHs, renumbered in short order under the Stagecoach system, reallocated to Oldham, and slowly, but surely refurbished into Bee Network standard livery. 13173 here appears to be one of the newest examples in fleet livery, bearing no adverts, having hardly kicked up any dirt, and seemingly having no Flickr photos of this repaint. It made the agonising five-or-so minute wait for it to pull away worth it.
And that's it. We're done with our Manchester spots. Now to take a heavily delayed train back to Hull and arrive in time for 11PM due to the usual chicanery of Transpennine Express. So... Manchester in review? I would love, absolutely love to see more of the local bus scene and catch up on more that I'd missed out on. But this is all, what I coined, a nice 'even spread' of vehicles, some of which most likely won't be here next time. They do things differently down in Manchester, y'know. I was in you, Manchester, and I will be back at some point. Hopefully in warmer weather.
My final photo from the Manchester trip, Stagecoach Manchester's 13173, a 2011 Volvo B5LH Wright Eclipse Gemini 2 new to First Manchester as their 39219 before later becoming Go North West's 3013, is seen pulling out along Oldham Street on, fittingly, an 84 service to Oldham.
This unique models "quirky" and downright "crooked" features made for an interesting project to repaint! I can imagine the time make-up artists must have had making the "real Chris's" features more symmetrical for the camera's unforgiving gaze!
I've been sitting on this gal for over a year only half cleaned. I finally sat down this morning and finished her.
This is my best (and only 3rd) repaint so far on a Monster High. I only used pastels and watercolor pencils. Green is an odd color to work on, enough said on that.
WOO HOO! We're getting there!
Next I add the eyelashes. I start by placing my paintbrush tip against the black eyeliner that I painted earlier... then painting outward and upward to make each individual eyelash.
GO SLOWLY! There is no need to rush eyelashes. I always count them as I go too, so that there is an even amount of lashes on each eye... and don't forget to paint the lower lashes!
Then there are the eyebrows.
These are difficult to get even. It really takes some eyeballing.
This is also when I add the color to the eyes. I start with a color slightly lighter than the base color, and paint it in a half moon arc (there is no need to paint the center, it will be covered with black).
Then I paint more and more lighter colors on... making sure to focus the lightest parts on one side of the eye.
After I like the color build up, I paint on the black pupils... going very slowly and making sure they look like they match, and don't give the doll a wonky stare.
After the black is painted on, I go back and add some more lighter colors to the iris... just to give it some pop.
As far as the eyebrows are concerned... I paint only the most simple, and basic of shapes first.... then try as hard as I can to mimic it on the other side. Once I feel that they are about even, I give them more detail.
i am having so much fun repainting the animators and rapunzel is one of the cutest ones out there in my opinion! i wanted her to have a kind of pleading expression but a little sad at the same time as if she is asking mother gothel: "can we go and see the lights?" =3
