2. 318-326 St Vincent Street. This massive warehouse was the Elder Smith and Co mid 20th century wool store.
3. Santos Parade. Elder Smiths original wool store in bluestone is located here. It was built in 1880 with the frontage facing the port docks. The bluestone has been cement rendered on St Vincent Street but not on the impressive façade on Santos Parade. Next to it was the massive D and J Fowler 1881 warehouse. They were food importers. Elders eventually took over that warehouse too and added his logo with the sailing ship on the pediment.
4. Stilling’s wool store. Built in classical style in 1883. Taken over by Elder Smiths and Co in 1905. Fancy pediment.
