An 'Inception' inspired shot of the Artscience Museum in Singapore. The glass facade at the entrance facilitated the reflection shot.

Another chance for a reflection shot using the foal who seemed to be posing.

I don't usually do this but many wanted to see ALL of the shots we took on Wild Horse Loop so I'm posting this batch of shots and then moving on to Utah pics.

a perfect day for reflection shot, nothing beats the real thing...

Waterfall with treeline & sunset in the reflection. . . shot from above the dam lock, Sulphur fork creek.

It was a hurried moment to get to this scene and after a couple of shots, I noticed that I was cutting off some of the tree in my frame. So I reframe for this shot and I actually think this is a better composed image but I like some of my earlier shots because the reflections were clearer. To late, the tide was rising too fast for a clearer reflection shot.

Most might look at this shop window and simply see a pretty dress. In fact, when I was making a series of reflection shots of this unfortunate headless mannequin, a man walked by and said, "Nice dress!"

At first, I thought that the pallor of the pink wouldn't work for a reflection shot, but I was wrong. The pallor allows the red brick facade from the building across the street to be "added" to the dress, giving it a more saturated tone. And the pallor also allowed the tree to "appear" better than if the dress had been red, blue, green or another deep color. And the floral embroidery lends itself, too, to the "disappearing act"; the trees are a continuation of what is on her dress. She's a bit like the Cheshire cat in Alice in Wonderland...

Most importantly, what we see is based in/on our imagination...not always on just what we see.

A little too windy to get the classic Perry's Pond reflection shot at Coxo. Just past the grade crossing South of Windy Point, the 489 heads towards Chama.

Was trying to take another reflection shot of me in the window, but they didnt come out right so just turned the camera round and took a normal shot.

The Challenge: Take one self portrait each day for a year.

Each day, take a self portrait, tag it with "365days", and submit it to the pool. It's that simple!

A replacement of sorts. Another Foggy Lake Reflection shot out at Tchesinkut Lake, BC

I'm a fan of the streaky falling snow.

not the best sunset in the world ... but it's a bit like one of those i-spy games, had to come home with a reflection shot!

After visiting the former railway bridge to the south of St. Andrews, we took a drive down to Wormit and thankfully, the Tay was perfectly still, allowing us to take some reflection shots. At one point, getting down to this point was as easy as walking down some steps but current works on the Tay Rail Bridge have seen the installation of a generator at the top of the steps. As such, you now have to hop a gate to get down here. Alternatively, you can access this point by following the coast along from Wormit Bay. Unfortunately, that route is too awkward to attempt at night and it's impossible at high tide. There's no doubt that we looked a little suspicious hopping a gate with all the tripods, camera gear and torches that we had on us that night...

As for the shot, it took a little while to work out what settings were best as this shot has been exposed for around a minute as opposed to the usual 30 seconds I'd go for. I also like the inclusion of the old pier as a way of adding some foreground interest, even if it's still come out looking quite dark. There were some other photos taken in Wormit that night but I'm going to post those photos a little later on in the year.

I love reflection shots.

1970s architecture at the corner of Hamngatan and Norrlandsgatan. Oh, and it took the City a while to fill up the pond so that I could take a few reflection shots.

Sometimes right as the mountain starts to pink up the fog rolls in. When that happens you can forget the reflection shots and go to plan B. I remember several years ago getting up at 2am and and making a 4 hour drive up there. Then waiting about an hour for the mountain to turn pink, only to have heavy fog roll in and block everything. Couldn't even see the mountain. You just make the drive and hope it works. If not there is always next year. ;-)

With the weather grey and windy there was no chance of a reflection shot of the afternoon WAG return to Holyhead at Malltraeth Viaduct , so a quick foray into Newborough Forest on the off chance ! Result at 406pm ,squirrel's feed time.

the same location from the reflection shot :)

Here is the companion to yesterday's reflection shot. I wish I could say I planned this, but it was just one of those right place at the right time. Thanks for looking and Happy Easter!

Today was fun. Went out to breakfast and then traveled to Northampton (MA) with Ken, Kelly and Bob (all the way from SF :-)).

Kelly was obviously my model for the day. I have many shots of her.

But can you blame me?

Up at 3 am climb for 2 hrs sit about in the cold waiting for the sun to rise. Fortunately the wind died down enough for this reflection shot

Unedited puddle reflection shot of Dutch Football supporters Sunday in Amsterdam. Taken with my Panasonic DMC-FZ8. No editing, no magic tricks, no Photoshop :)

Yesterday the Dutch team lost 1:0 against Spain in the final match of the 2010 FIFA World Cup...

It seemed for a while as if the Dutch team, supported by all the orange people, would beat Spain, but thanks to an incorrect offside decision, Spain won and we all went home sad...see you in the Euro 2012 Spain, haha ;-D

Thank you all for your marvelous support throughout the tournament, its been 4 fun weeks, lets do that again soon :)

I've also made tons of movies of the final match in Amsterdam, watch them on my YouTube page :)

Yep, had to go for the water reflection shot! Rather than tie a bag overhead and let drops fall from a pinprick I decided to use a teaspoon to drop the water. Used a colourful magazine page as backdrop.

Strobist info: My 430ex was set to 1/8 power and was just out of shot on the right (hence slightly blown out area there).

Leaving Big Horn and proceeding east toward Antonito, our charter leaders spied a nice little pond, created by runoff from melting snow. Hoping for a reflection shot in late afternoon light, we disembarked around MP 299 for static shot and a run-by. The wind was still pretty strong, which made the reflection shot all but impossible, but the resulting run-by was pretty nice, albeit a bit glinty. This spot is literally a 9-iron shot north of the CO-NM border. From Big Horn east to Antonito, our train will cross that border no fewer than 5 times!

This image was captured during a March 2016 photo shoot organized by the Friends of the Cumbres & Toltec Scenic Railroad.

The last of my horsey reflection shots ... I promise...

I tried "content-aware" fill to remove that aberration in the centre, but it made a bigger mess.. if that is possible, and my PS skills are no where good enough so I had to leave that thing there..... ( it takes me 15 minutes to get that black border around it... lol... )

This is a little shot for our Flickr group.. a photo of a horse or cow..

For WH: Orbalicious

basic black and white mirror reflection shot.

i tried hard to make it so you couldn't see the mirror but i wasn't able to, ah well.

im quite happy with the outcome.... MWAH !!!

Whoa! SOOC.

I trying to come up with a reflection shot last night, and for some reason decided to hold the bottom of a clear, footed drinking glass up to the blue light on the coffeemaker. This was the result.

I'm feeling a bit better this morning - I got a good night's sleep, and I guess that helped.

I will be back in a little while to visit with everyone.

Slightly edited shot of some of our photos on display at the ABC Treehouse in Amsterdam. Taken with my Sony HX1. No editing besides a bit of added lightness and contrast :)

Today the lovely Miss Monyart and myself are hosting our photo exhibition called 'Girls! Girls! Girls!' at the ABC Treehouse for the very last time, from 13:00 - 18:00, it's the final day, finito, basta, rien ne va plus, it's all over, the curtain is closing, last chance, etc, yada yada :)

I would to thank everybody for coming out to meet us at the gallery and enjoy the show with us, it's been a pleasure to meet so many nice people throughout the month, it's YOU who made the exhibition such a great experience, I hope we can do this again soon, thank you, thank you, thank you :)))

A warm weather shot from my archives -- shot in Sep. '06

This grasshopper landed on the windshield of the parked car I was sitting in. I took a quick shot from inside the car, but I really wanted to get a reflection shot from outside the car. Unfortunately, he didn't wait around and I only got this one decent shot.

Large 'Grasshopper'

I went to to the 2010 Carnevale in Venice, Italy - what an absolute blast! I had the chance to shoot with an incredible number of people in gorgeous costumes and masks - it was a great experience and I'm already looking forward to going back there again.

I took this photo near the Arsenale in Venice on Tuesday, 9 Feb 2010.

Another couple of shots from yesterday's Peak District trip. This is a markedly less accomplished shot than Paul's superb frog reflection shot. There were loads of frogs about and huge mounds of frogspawn!!

A puddle reflection shot - flipped in Photoshop

Another puddle reflection shot of the Carpet Factory Building in Liberty Village.

Battling strong winds and showers, recently took a short trip to Blackpool to see the illuminations. The wet weather provided a good opportunity for reflections shots.
