It's the showcase of a hair salon.

Reflection shot, no double exposure.

pier and sky reflection

Last one from our trip to the Lake District for now, I have loads more but I feel like mixing things up a bit for the rest of the week.

No trip to the lakes is complete without a reflection shot, and as we had failed to get any reflections at Buttermere we stopped at Rydal Water instead. We hadn't planned to go here, but as we were driving past we saw the lake was flat as a pancake so made a quick pit stop.

The Autumn colours were just starting to come out and it really did look beautiful. We had about an hour here, but the wind soon picked up and the water started getting a bit choppy so we headed off to the pub for some lunch.

Just enjoying a beautiful morning.

Heard the speeding boat coming up the river as I was taking captures. So worked on those reflections shots as I listened for the waves to start coming in ... then set up for some wave action captures there at low tide.

A lucky break in the weather made this reflection shot in Idaho's Sawtooth Mountains possible.

Bellecour square. Lyon, France

Especially when I can't work out myself the reflections of the promenade and beach from the distant view through the opposite windows, or even whether there are kittens on cushions or abandoned outside....I would draw a line at having a bin on a bed tbh :)

The Tridge is located in Midland, Michigan. The three-way arch bridge spans the confluence of the Chippewa and Tittabawasee Rivers. It was too breezy to get a good reflection shot so I went for this pov instead. It was a beautiful day and downtown Midland sports a few good microbreweries, antique shops and the Dow Diamond ballpark. The Great Lakes Loons were playing the Dayton Dragons and I really don't know who won but it was a great night for baseball :)

Happy Fence Friday

I was a lonesome cowboy

Lonesome as I could be

You came along, changed my life

And fixed what was broken in me

I was a lonesome cowboy

I didn't have a friend

Now I got friends comin' out of my ears

I'll never be lonesome again

You can't be happy when you're all by yourself

Go on, tell me I'm wrong (you're wrong)

When someone takes you down from the shelf

And plays with you some, it's wonderful (wonderful)

From the film Toystory....which I watched at the cinema with my grandson Leo just prior to Covid.

The lady reflected was rushing along the street in St Ives just as I was taking this reflections shot, now if that was woody in the the window he would have rushed to her aid in a heartbeat i'm sure :))

Mt Rainier National Park, Washington. It is always a gamble what kind of weather you'll find on Mt Rainier. We hit the jackpot. It was a full moon so no Milky Way shots but what a night. Clouds were scarce, the moon was spectacular and there was no wind which made for a wonderful reflection shot on Reflection Lakes. This vantage point of Mt Rainier is one of the parks most iconic and perhaps most photographed view. This was my first night shot from here and was taken just before 11pm.

Taken over my favourite place the Crayford marshes what it was flooded! This will be my last one of this series of reflection shots, it was a morning that I will never forget and it will probably never be equaled, I hope you all enjoyed them as much as I witnessed it happening in front of my eyes and recording the events!

Near the entrance to Schloss Oberschleissheim and the Oberschleissheim Museum I caught this very nice reflection shot

One more from yesterday , perfect conditions for the reflection shot .

Nice reflection shot I captured last year while walking around the barbican area in Plymouth. This place is a stones throw from where the pilgrim fathers set off for America.

Wine Windows barrels of wine in this bistro pub create an interesting focal point, shot through the window so some reflections, shot in North Carolina.

Another full reflection shot from that magical morning alone the river Cray in Bexley, the reflections are just stunning!!

This is taken from the lookout pub at Ingoldmells and the view of the beach is reflected in the window behind the other window with the seats and table in front. We usually enjoy a drink looking out at the sea whilst sitting in the relative warmth. This young lady repeatedly walked slowly through what is called the conservatory where we sit out of the way with our dogs. There is a door either end. Once this little one reached that outside door she always flung it back wide and it had no spring to shut itself so we had to get up to shut it over and over again. How cute NOT..

We never saw a parent so they were possibly sitting outside.

An opportunity to take a street candid I suppose :)

Now back in the day..........

I think I've finally work out the settings for this shot. I was lucky to have a very still commuter to test out the shot

Simple reflection shot, I really like the light in this image

it was an awesome morning for reflection shots at the Chicago Botanic Gardens yesterday...pls. View On Black

We were so fortunate to be in one of our favorite places in the world, Merritt island, Florida on a perfect early morning with birds all around us. The conditions here could not have been better for a reflection shot and this Great Blue Heron provided a perfect subject to photograph in these conditions:)

I thought I can't post 2 reflection shots back to back, but then I realized I can do what I want 😀. So that's become my theme of the week - reflections.

* The Chateau la Bussiere to give it its formal name is found in the Loiret Department of central France. It looks quite splendid from the outside but sadly the interior is a little dilapidated. The reason for visiting the Chateau was is its excellent garden, which is very formal but a delight.

The castle was built in the twelfth century. Regularly expanded, it was transformed to the sixteenth century to a manor house .The du Tillet family owned the castle for three centuries until the French Revolution. In the eighteenth century the lake was developed and became a popular place to fish hence its other name le Château des Pêcheurs. It’s certainly a fine place to take reflection shots.

THANKS FOR YOUR VISIT AND FOR TAKING THE TIME TO WRITE A COMMENT IT’S MUCH APPRECIATED AND SO MUCH MORE INTRESTING THAN JUST GIVING A FAVE

Night two of viewing and photographing a Comet 2023 A3 Tsuchinshan-ATLAS. This time, I found a lake nearby to try my hand at some reflection shots

Torquay at the beginning of August 2019. I went back to Torquay harbour a couple of times on my recent trip to Devon, hoping the wind would die down enough to get a reflection shot. The sun was shining as well so I was doubly rewarded.

A walk by the Thames this morning, not much of a sunrise but it was sure quiet and serene. Oh and very very green! Couldn't resist a reflection shot making use of the cloud cover that hid the sunrise. No HDR just a lot of dynamic range on the A99 sensor which gave me lots to play with. Uncropped and just tweaked in Lightroom to bring out the colours.

This morning I ventured out with Darren Blight Photography for sunrise at Plymouth Barbican. Setting my alarm for 5am I crawled out of bed and made the short drive into town.

It's not very often I venture out in the city for any photography, but it looked like the perfect morning for some reflection shots and we did get a nice bit of colour in the sky just before sunrise.

This is the first in a series of shots from this morning, I've got a fair few that I actually like!!

We have been making the most of the late summer weather down in the S Hams which has been ideal for reflection shots as the wind has been quite light. This is the view from Noss Mayo across to Newton Ferrers.

at the pub, while I killed time before the haircut.

Grabbed some reflection shots while he was busy on the phone.

If only flickr allowed animations, the burst mode on the phone captured some cool movement here.

Snowdrop reflection. Shot with a 10x macro filter and lit with macro light diagonally from the side. The snowdrop was placed on a glass place-mat to create the reflection with a book stood behind to prevent unwanted reflections. One of the first flowers in my garden this year.

I want to be like water

The Okotoks "Big Rock" a large Glacial erratic located about 500km from it's original location in Jasper National Park. I had never seen this Big Rock with the spring melt and rain pools before and I was determined to get a reflection shot, I literally got 3 bracketed shots off and the wind started to blow! The reflection went away of course:( This shot was the darkest of my brackets

This is for Emmanuelle, who prefers my reflection shots vertical, but I thought I'd try a reverse first! Up and down is a track by John Lee Hooker and is perfect! Because the headland at Whitmore stairs is a similar shape from both sides it took me a while to realise this was inverted!

The tide was out but I still tried to get a reflection shot.

You see the beautiful cresta lake and its reflection. shot on our hiking trip today ;)

Cresta Lake, Flims, Swiss Alps, Switzerland

A reflection shot of this LBH searching for breakfast.

A long exposure of a roll on/roll off vehicle carrier moored up in Southampton docks.

Thank you all for taking the time to view, like and comment on our photography, we appreciate the support very much.

I think that I had seen pics of this bridge before, but didn't know what I was looking at. This is the first view you get of it and it's a jaw dropper. The only thing that I found on it was that it's three stories tall and people who are NOT me like to jump from it which astounds me considering the multitude of volcanic rock up and down the Lewis River. I saw very few people here, but doing some research discovered that this place is packed in the summer with sunbathers and swimmers. Elke asked me if I got a reflection shot and I had to laugh. the river is at flood stage and is a raging torrent of green and white water roaring past with a vengeance right now, it was amazing. :-)

The wind blew down my perfect reflection shot expectation
