Project 50 27/50
A little side project i have a hand in is Mancave sessions took a shot from a session we did today.
50 photos with a 50mm lens. Meyer Optik Gorlitz Domiplan 50mm f2.8 M/F.
-Payment for a repair. I repaired a co workers computer, and in return I received a Pantax ME super with 50mm and a 300mm lens with a bunch of other goodies. Thank you Rod.

Today marks the start of my Project De Colores!
If I keep it up, every month I'll ask Facebook fans and friends to help me pick 2 colors that I'll then focus on and photograph anytime they happen to catch my eye that month. This month's colors are red and bright green. How fitting, I was already wearing this :)
Playing with some Lucis effects....not loving them :/ I should know better though. I'm no longer one for HDR, and I've never been fond of it in portraits. Plus, my computer is slow and the fewer things I do to my photos the better. I wish I could add more RAM! Dah well. I'll be rich enough soon that I'll be able to upgrade, right? I'm excited :)
This was gonna be my final Project 50 shot, but I really can do better. It's still really cool though!

Five more...but who's counting. Met up for a little walk tonight with both Jenna and Taz to explore a little bit.
After walking around the same block 3 times like in a looney tunes cartoon, feeling the the coyote chasing the road runner, we were able to get in the same spot.
Those kinds of activities take time and valuable light so things got darker quickly. This shot, however, was in a dark alley with a window on a taller building across the street shedding some light on Jenna here. I get all giddy when I see a sliver of light in an otherwise dark area. I call it my ninja strobe ;) Thought Randy would like that one.

Having a little play with some of my Star Wars Transformers and some home made gels which were basically a red and a blue CD marker pen on a clear CD sleave. WIn!

Just like in hip hop you just can't let people call you out and not do anything about it. That's the theme Stephen and I will be doing.
One calls one out with a photo and the other responds.
So my daily photo today is in response to his photo Reflection Time. Reflecting time is for suckaz I stop time like Hiro Nakumra!

Last night we got on the guest list for a late showing of the Las Vegas Chippendales in Edinburgh, right after attending a fashion show my sister was working at. What. A. Hoot. It's so cheesy, but in such a silly way you can't help but be amused by it. I am actually pretty shy when it comes to stuff like this, but even I was up dancing, coaxing the men to lift up their kilts alongside hundreds of other women. Too funny!
They came into the crowd and gave my mum a lap dance, pulled my friend up on stage, and I caught one of the shirts they threw into the audience. I actually caught two, but gave the other one to my sister. I think every woman has to go see this show once in her life - just be prepared to let yourself get swept up by the cheesiness of it all.
Anyway, seeing as most of my Flickr contacts are male, I'm preparing myself for an abundance of 'taking the piss' comments, if any. But, sometimes you've just gotta be silly and laugh at yourself ;)
Caught my son Karriem, better known as Dream'z sleeping again!
For those of you who know me, I'm the you fell asleep queen, lol

With this image I have completed the 50mm Challenge; one photo a day for 50 days with a 50mm lens.
At times it seemed a daunting task to complete this challenge but I can say it was a rewarding experience overall.
We had breakfast in town today. Lu got a latte that looked really happy until she drove a spoon through his face.

Allergies are really doing a number on me today. Body aches, shivers, nose bleeds like Charlie's dad, just not feeling right today.
In other news, on twitter looks like a photographers I did Project50 with want to do another project for the month of May. Originally it started as shoot with a 35mm prime, to which I figured 35 days with a 35. But not everyone has a 35 (ja, I know right?!?!) so it became shoot with a prime for the entire month.
So here I'm scratching my head, WTH? I only have primes so it's not just a month long challenge but a year long project. So by default I've already started this project.
Today's photo is my 2nd prime a 50mm ƒ/1.2L. Nothing to fancy for today, just the lens on the coffee table with me running around lighting it with a handheld speedlite. Yeah, I paint with light.
One of the reasons why I don't do flowers… allergies.

@monatheism got me hooked on Mafia Wars for the iPhone and let's just say today I sorta forgot that I needed to take a picture.
Good thing I had my background stands still out so I quickly set those up along with the bed sheet to do do one of those product photography style of things.
I placed a 550EX on the floor to blow out the bedsheet and a 430EX in a shoot through umbrella to provide some lighting to the front. In order to get the LCD screen to appear I metered for that using a combination of shutter and ISO.
To meet today's theme of: light I shot it with light.... oh kay so unoriginal I know I know but this game you just have to play it!

Something like a phenomenon
Telling your body to come along, but white lines blow away
Isn't that the truth. Since I'm working from home today I decided to get my daily out a bit earlier than normal.
On the way back from dropping the girl off at school White lines came on Pandora and that's what lead me to shoot this today, cuz you know we just got tons of this stuff laying around because that's how we roll in Vegas.
My friend asked me a while ago what style of photography did I want to shoot. I thought about it long and hard and decided if I had to just pick one style it would be editorial since I want to place things the way I see fit to tell my story. So you can't believe everything I photograph or can you?
Main lighting came from a 430EX in a shoot through umbrella camera left but I noticed it was a bit dead towards the right so I bounced a 550EX off a box that was sitting there for a bit of fill.

I've been enjoying my project50, but there are some days when I just can't spend the time to get the shots I'd like. Today was a split-shift day and I this was the most interesting shot that fit into my break. English course books, teachers' books, activity sheets, and other random papers.

Sure you may be thinking WTH a peach with dried cranberries? Originally it was a handful of chocolate chips but they ended up blending with the rest of the shot. In order to add some color I looked around and decided on a peach and some dried cranberries.
And afterwards I did eat it and it was pretty tasty

50/50: Day 13
HAHA! I was kinda stoked I was able to get this shot! I missed most of the firework show chimping away, but I was able to catch this during the finale, when they just went crazy w/ the fireworks. Most of the night they were just shooting up one or two at a time.
I had set up & exposed for my lights right before dusk and marked a place where we would stand and focused for that area, since I wouldn't be able to auto focus in complete darkness. Then as soon as the show started, I began to meter for the fireworks. I finally decided on a 4s exposure ... & then I just Sprayed & Prayed =]
I'm surprised anything came out at all since I was already a few adult bevereges in at this point ... lolz

Well we started off with simple shot's, decided to wait till it got even darker to do these.
Oh how I wish there were more cars in the BG, but I'll tell you more cars turned into this dern block of ours than road pass in the BG.
Now earlier there were hardly any at all.
I even had some lady park just so she could eventually after she saw that we weren't moving tell us this is a bad place to take a picture.
Me: Yeah whatever, i'm shooting this not you!
I didn't say it but I sure as heck thought it, lol.
We shot ton's this is one of the best of the bunch.
