Tortoise and the hare. Well, cottontail bunny. Visited the wash in the desert again yesterday and spotted a few mature tortoises, jack rabbits and a cotton tail bunny. We saw a couple of coyotes crossing the wash farther down from us.
This little lady wanted to pose for us. She lays her head on her right leg and stands motionless. When tortoises see humans, they usually freeze in their tracks.
Tourists... I love it when they pose in front of memorable objects such as historical sites or buildings like this one. Built in 1971, the Eisenhower building is offices for the White House and stores it's many employees here during the main working hours. Originally called the State, War, and Navy Building, it was built to house the said departments. It's definitely worth getting your picture taken in front of!
