no trip to the pass would be complete without the always present pipits. while they are fairly "plain", they do have very striking intraspecies variation in markings, and they are always so animated and fun to watch.

Norio had somehow usurped Nobuo's favorite spot (the dinner table) so I took a picture of him for posterity.

The flash has given this shot a great effect, its like Dan is a cardboard cut-out.

The Langkoulfen mountain with its head in the clouds in the background. Unfortunately the weather didn't stay like this all day.

I am FULLY aware of what a prat I look but it's also quite nicely framed I think!

The La Dee Da dolls have been on my radar since I first heard about them a couple months ago. Mostly what appealed to me was their bright, interesting facial screening, and gigantic eyes. They still haven't shown up in stores in my town but I found some that I like available on the Toys R Us website, and shipping was free, so I got a few. I'm not 100% loving them, but I do like them quite a bit! Their faces are really colorful and uniquely decorated, and they have nice hair. Not Blythe nice, but good for a play line. I'm disappointed a little with their posability, and I don't like the stands at all. I don't understand why they have jointed knees but not jointed elbows. That said, their long, willowy arms do look pretty cool in photographs. I think a fifteen dollar price point, rather than twenty, is more appropriate for them. I don't plan on getting any more of the existing dolls (well, maybe Sweet Party Tylie), but if they release more lines that have equally unique facial screening I could see myself becoming a casual collector.

Here's Cyanne as Peppermint Pose. Check out her swirly eyes - she looks kind of crazy (in a good way). I like the crimped hair (although, disappointingly, only the forward facing portions are crimped). Cool leggings, too. She's my favorite of the 3 I got.
