We went on a hike with my sil and bil and of course the dogs came with us. I've taken some pictures of Pr1mo on the chairs the last time we were here, so now it was time for Rocco to do some posing. I also took some group shots, but that wasn't with my Single lens. They'll follow later, first I have some catching up to do.

Once he'd gotten his bearings and decided he didn't really want to pose for me, the cricket made a few hops for freedom... but my study is small and I'm quite persistent.
This is the edge of my wastebin, with an oddly colored reflection from a bit of pirple cardboard.
Focus stacked from 3 images, shot at 1:1.5 magnification (I think) and lit with an SB-25 up and left, quarter power through a tissue paper diffuser.
This is part of a series of 110 photos of Terraces on the Park, taken to illustrate and highlight the severe fire threat posed by vegetation within and surrounding this community of 90 town houses. The Terraces on the Park complex is adjacent to a nature reserve which is right up against the Western and Northern boundary of the complex. There is absolutely no fire-brake between the reserve and the houses of this complex.
Due to an unusually wet Autumn and Winter and the neglect and negligence of the body corporate over the past 15 years, has caused the growth of shrubs, bushes and trees in very close proximity and even under the dwellings, to get out of hand. As we are now entering a very dry period during Spring and early Summer, this vegetation will become very dry and pose an unacceptably high fire risk.
As can be seen in these photos, the whole complex is built on the side of a very steep hill. The floor of these dwellings is made of particle-board which in many instances is in direct contact with grass, shrubs, bushes and branches of trees. This situation is very dangerous and is compounded even further by piles of cut and dried bushes and branches having been placed under some of the houses and the manager (who should know better) has a dump of timber and other highly flammable materials under his unit.
There is only one entrance/exit point to this complex and no access to fire vehicles in the nature reserve. Terraces on the Park will become a death-trap that is potentially more lethal than the devastation caused by bush-fires in Victoria last summer, if nothing is done urgently to remedy this situation.
I welcome any comments from residents of the complex and any other interested parties and urge everyone to write to the Gold Coast City Council and local and state fire authorities and pass-on a link to these photos.

It snowed while we were taking pictures in front of the church after the ceremony. A very very unusual scene!
Attack pose. Well, defensive as well. You see, I eat other critters. Including my own kind. Meaning my own kind also could eat me. So this serves dual purpose. Twisted, I know!
