Quite a lucky catch here. For some reason the UP crew tied down their power here on the Chicago Terminal trackage rather than their normal spot in the yard. UPY 700 and GMTX 2138 sit idling with CNW bay window caboose 11119 in Elk Grove, IL.
A short visit from a Robin provides something to photograph in a day otherwise, void of any interesting subjects. Yes, if I had the budget for it, I would be at the beach, the mountains or some other exotic location, photographing every day. Until that budget arrives, I guess I will continue to shoot the things that present themselves outside the door of my small world, such as birds, space stations, and storms.
Maybe I should start a Go Fund Me Travel budget page ?

A cabinet card (cropped) of a woman with a baby, no information or date. I love seeing vintage interiors, if only we could see more of this room!
One from a series of images taken on a portrait shoot with a friend back in August 2015. We spent an evening in a studio set-up in a disused factory. I loved the setting, and had hoped to return, but they stopped offering the building for hire not long after.
Constructive criticism always welcome.

The pose of the week is a combination of two very different postures/asanas: the amazing, strong and devoted yogi Robin Wall is in Bridge Pose/Setu Bandasana (the base) and I am in Crow/Bakasana (flyer). It was a truly wonderful and much appreciated practice in partner yoga with one of my yogis, because Robin knows these poses and practices yoga regularly. Bridge strengthens legs & core, gets one's back healthier with each practice; it releases and opens shoulders and hips. Crow is an advance arm balance that requires focus as well as it increases it; it strengthens the arms, shoulders and core muscles. Practice these poses on your own in your home practice and at Bliss, by yourself or with a partner.
