Meet Maggie, my feisty and full of the Dickens great-niece.

She's got a twinkle in her eye, a smile on her face, and the energy to light whole cities.

We were celebrating the 65th wedding anniversary of my favorite In-Laws, Tom & Mary. That's Tom in the background, admiring his one and currently only great-granddaughter. Maggie held court and dazzled us all this afternoon. Being a native of Mississippi, she reveled in the wonder of snow. Snow angles were made in the brief minutes that we ventured outside in the 11F cold air. Tickles were traded, the Hokey Pokey was danced, and the smiles passed from one to another all afternoon.

I was fortunate to have a camera in my hand when this pose was struck.

4 years of going to Swan Lake almost every single day I have gotten the privilege to meet many amazing and wonderful creatures. I have worked towards slowly educating the public that bread is horrible for any species so please if you are going to find your local pond water fowl bring wild bird seeds, cracked corn, or scratched grain. Although Herons do not each any of that they do live around the ducks and geese that do.
