The focus locked on nicely for this one. Unfortunately, the chosen aperture meant that the background is not blurry enough and I really find those leaves distracting. I'm still on that learning curve!

The warthog or common warthog (Phacochoerus africanus, "African Lens-Pig") is a wild member of the pig family that lives in Africa. The common name comes from the four large wart-like protrusions found on the head of the warthog, which serve the purpose of defense when males fight. They are the only widely recognised species in their genus, though some authors divide them into two species. On that classification, P. africanus is the common (or northern) warthog and P. aethiopicus is the desert warthog, also known as the Cape or Somali warthog.

The male is called a boar, the female a sow, and the young piglets. A group is called a sounder. Warthogs are fast runners and quite capable jumpers. They will often run with their tails in the air. Despite poor eyesight, warthogs have a good sense of smell, which they use for locating food, detecting predators and recognizing other animals. Although capable of fighting, and males will aggressively fight each other during mating season, a primary defense is to flee by means of fast sprinting. The main warthog predators are humans, lions, leopards, crocodiles, and hyenas. Cheetahs are also capable of catching small warthogs. Warthogs have been observed allowing banded mongooses to groom them to remove ticks.

In this piece I wanted to concentrate on the period performer and remove all the 21st century details from the shot so they wouldn't distract from the period look. Was aiming at a Victorian oil painting look for this one. I moved the flag over as I wanted to keep the union jack in the shot, and also masked the playset in the background by cutting and pasting in an extra shrub.

I may come back to this one. The performer is looking at something and I'm tempted to put something there, as well as spruce up the area, perhaps putting in a traditional English garden (roses, foxgloves, etc.).

In reality I think the performer was looking at me out of the corner of her eye. I'm certain she noticed me when I turned and raised the camera as she stopped and held pose as I took these shots. I have such a big lens it's hard to miss, don't ya know. ;-) I wanted to ask her to pose for a few more shots, but I'm kind of shy and have to build up my nerve about these things, so first I went down the side of the mill to get some side shots of the building. I arrived late to Dickinson Days so unfortunately by the time I got back she'd left for the day! Oh well, perhaps next year.

In the meantime I'm thinking I'll contact Watson's Mill about these shots so the performers can see them and get copies. Everyone there was very friendly and professional, as you can see here. Would love to give them something back for their volunteering to work the festival.

Chichen Itza (pronounced /tʃiːˈtʃɛn iːˈtsɑː/; from Yucatec Maya: Chi'ch'èen Ìitsha', "At the mouth of the well of the Itza") is a large pre-Columbian archaeological site built by the Maya civilization located in the northern center of the Yucatán Peninsula, in the Yucatán state, present-day Mexico.

Chichen Itza was a major regional focal point in the northern Maya lowlands from the Late Classic through the Terminal Classic and into the early portion of the Early Postclassic period. The site exhibits a multitude of architectural styles, from what is called “Mexicanized” and reminiscent of styles seen in central Mexico to the Puuc style found among the Puuc Maya of the northern lowlands. The presence of central Mexican styles was once thought to have been representative of direct migration or even conquest from central Mexico, but most contemporary interpretations view the presence of these non-Maya styles more as the result of cultural diffusion.

The ruins of Chichen Itza are federal property, and the site’s stewardship is maintained by Mexico’s Instituto Nacional de Antropología e Historia (National Institute of Anthropology and History, INAH). The land under the monuments, however, is privately-owned by the Barbachano family.

The Maya name "Chich'en Itza" means "At the mouth of the well of the Itza." This derives from chi', meaning "mouth" or "edge", and ch'e'en, meaning "well." Itzá is the name of an ethnic-lineage group that gained political and economic dominance of the northern peninsula. The name is believed to derive from the Maya itz, meaning "magic," and (h)á, meaning "water." Itzá in Spanish is often translated as "Brujas del Agua (Witches of Water)" but a more precise translation would be Magicians of Water.

The name is often represented as Chichén Itzá in Spanish and when translated into other languages from Spanish to show that both parts of the name are stressed on their final syllables. Other references prefer to employ a more rigorous orthography in which the word is written according to Maya language, using Chich'en Itzá (pronounced [tʃitʃʼen itsáʔ]. This form preserves the phonemic distinction between ch' and ch, since the base word ch'e'en (which, however, does have a neutral tone vowel "e" in Maya and is not accented or stressed in Maya) begins with a glottalized affricate. The word "Itzá'" has a high rise final "a" that is followed by a glottal stop (indicated by the apostrophe).

There is evidence in the Chilam Balam books that there was another, earlier name for this city prior to the arrival of the Itza hegemony in northern Yucatán. This name is difficult to define because of the absence of a single standard of orthography, but it is represented variously as Uuc Yabnal, Uuc Hab Nal, or Uc Abnal. While most sources agree the first word means seven, there is considerable debate as to the correct translation of the rest. Among the translations suggested are “Seven Bushes,” “Seven Great Houses,” or “Seven Lines of Abnal.”

01. Adult Diversion 02. Archie, Marry Me 03. Ones Who Love You 04. Next of Kin 05. Party Police 06. The Agency Group 07. Dives 08. Atop a Cake 09. Red Planet

¿Qué me pongo?

Her verhaal van onze gids:

This is a portrait of Nobel Prize winning American playwright Eugene O'Neill - taken by the photographer Carl Van Vechten in 1933.

It was taken with an early Leica, and a (then "new" technology) Leitz Summar 5cm f/2 lens.

The original is now held by the United States Library of Congress, along with many other works by Van Vechten.

An extraordinary image I feel, given the times, and the men (both photographer and subject).

"In 1932 Van Vechten moved on to a new career, from novelist to photographer. While he was always interested in photography, it was the introduction of the new Leica camera, portable and using the inexpensive 35 mm film, that caused him to take photography seriously"

This is a quotation from the biographical details of the photographer as published by Brandeis University, along with access to many of his images, here:

lts.brandeis.edu/research/archives-speccoll/findingguides...

It doesn't tell the half of it.

You can view more of Carl Van Vechten's astonishing work, now preserved at the Library of Congress here:

And you can see the influence of Oskar Barnack's Leica camera, all around you every day.

Joseph-Michel Montgolfier (26 August 1740 – 26 June 1810) and Jacques-Étienne Montgolfier (6 January 1745 – 2 August 1799) were the inventors of the montgolfière-style hot air balloon, globe aérostatique. The brothers succeeded in launching the first manned ascent, carrying Étienne into the sky. Later, in December 1783, in recognition of their achievement, their father Pierre was elevated to the nobility and the hereditary appellation of de Montgolfier by King Louis XVI of France.

Military Base in Germany somewhere.

This is my second ever Urbex hotel; sleeping at an abandoned location…

We arrived here by car in the middle of the night and set up camp on the terrace of one of these buildings. It wasn’t very cold so all we had to lay out were sleeping bags and we could sleep underneath the moonlit sky.

Before we went to sleep we walked around the area and in the middle of some bushes we saw this giant statue of Lenin which had red sprayed eyes, thus quite the evil look…. We heard these slammin’ doors we thought, a loud bang once every half an hour or so. But it wasn’t that windy… This freaked us out a little. We never really found out what that sound was, but we don’t think it could have been the wind.

The next morning we woke up by the rising sun, that was really nice. This was also the very first morning of our 4 day weekend trip in Germany. Starting it off with a sunny day, well you just can’t wish for anything better.

We had some coffee and started looking around and taking pictures. Then at some point one of us bumped into a security guard doing his round. We sent some text (seen as all four of us had spread out over the area), met back at our little base, packed up and made ready for the final exit sprint! The last 20 meters we had a car behind us trying to chase us out. But we managed to climb the fence in time, jump into the car and drive away…. Phew

Months later I had a nightmare about this night. We got caught on the terrain and were wearing bulletproof vsts. Then we escaped and we were chased out of this military base by an army tank. Mad scary!

Excellent! Very rich! I'm new to vegan baking but not cooking.

I used Sugar in the Raw Turbinado sugar, unsweetened Walmart brand applesauce, packed Trader Joe's organic brown sugar, earth balance original (wanted to do the soy-free but Walmart was out), and Trader Joe's semi-chocolate chips. I cooked them on parchment paper and moved the parchment paper and cookies to a cooling rack after taking from the oven.

The usual non-vegan cookie recipe I usually use is Toll house. I usually sub out butter with butter-flavored crisco for a soft cookie. When I would use butter, it would spread and be crispier. So that's where I come from.

I followed exactly as written and took them out at 10 minutes. I like a soft cookie. They hardened up with cooling. The color is darker than the usual non-vegan version but that's probably because the raw sugar is dark. And there's a gritty sugary texture because of the turbinado. Also, it's crispier on the edges. I'm guessing the crispier on the edges because of Earth Balance. I'd like to try with a finer vegan white sugar but it seems turbinado is good for holding moisture. I've had vegan cookies that crumble like a fiend so would rather not have crumble cookie syndrome and switching might do that.

I've got them in the fridge now so will be very curious how well they do with storage.

Served with almond milk. Only non-dairy milk that I've found I can drink straight.

Madonna of Piazza Grande (1604)

The Statue, requested by the people of Pavia, was put in place in 1604 in the heart of the city on the outside of the town hall building and was regarded with special devotion by the local people and above all by merchants and artisans. Made from rare, highly resistant materials (including sand from the river Ticino) the Madonna remained on the outside of the Broletto building for nearly three centuries, until 1872, at which time, in a climate of strong social conflict, it was taken to the crypt of the nearby cathedral.

In the 1980s a Pavia local, Professoressa Anna Maria De Paoli Garofoli, sparked renewed interest in the story of the Madonna of Piazza Grande by the press, the authorities and the local people of Pavia, 7,800 of whom asked for it to be returned to its original location.

In 1992 the statue, perfectly restored by the spontaneously established Committee for the Madonna of Piazza Grande, was solemnly moved to the cathedral and shown to the city.

On the 21st of December 2002 the Madonna was returned to the Broletto, giving back to the city a work of great beauty and extraordinary significance for the people of Pavia.

Pleeeeeeeeeeease.

Today I was with family for an early easter get-together/late birthday gift giving because my grandfather, aunt and I are the only ones that have birthdays at the beginning of the year and that always gets messed up. Nearly EVERYONE else's birthdays are around september, which used to make me sad as a kid because I would never get my gifts around the same time as everyone else, and I basically had to sit around when all of my cousins were getting things and be polite and shut my mouth. xD I don't mind it anymore at all (but i was a kid and i was a pouty little thing sometimes, haha!). I got more money for crafty stuff. Yay! Thank you Aunt Jane. =D

So anyway, off with that rambling. My step-grandmother took us to her "southern mansion" (as she calls it; it's more like an antique store gone wrong) to show us her reupholstering jobs. The outside is fabulous, though i totally spaced taking a decent picture. So the next few pictures will be from this place, along with the songs that have plagued me throughout the course of the day. xD

This happens to be today's theme song, somehow. It's been stuck in my head and I've been singing and listening to it all day. I've loved it for years.

You'll walk unscathed through musket fire,

No ploughman's blade will cut thee down,

No cutless wound will mark thy face

And you will be my ain true love,

And you will be my ain true love

And as you walk through death's dark veil,

The cannon's thunder can't prevail,

And those who hunt thee down will fail,

And you will be my ain true love,

And you will be my ain true love.

Asleep inside the cannon's mouth,

The captain cries, "Here comes the rout,"

They'll seek to find me north and south,

I've gone to find my ain true love.

The field is cut and bleeds to red.

The cannon balls fly round my head,

The infirmary man may count me dead,

When I've gone to find my ain true love,

I've gone to find my ain true love.

The title on the Russian site devoted to SPG is – Rafts on the [Catherine] Canal: city of Shlisselburg.

A little poking around on the internet reveals that this is unlikely to be the Catherine canal (which runs between the Volkhov and Syas rivers, says Wikipedia), and is more likely the Peter Canal, that is the section built during the time of Peter the Great. That section of the canal had two locks, one of which we can see in the background, along with boats waiting to enter. You can find this locale on Google Earth, in "street view," much changed of course, where the Russian label tells us it is part of the Marinskii waterway, which is true, but only in a general sense. You can see on Google Earth too, that, over the years, the canal has silted up and filled in, and in places has actually been narrowed by builders needed good footings for their constructions. Another page I found said that the stonework we see on the locks and banks dates from the time of the canal's original construction (late 1720s) another that it dates from repairs and renovations done in 1836; the Wikipedia article doesn't note any work done in the 1830s, so my guess is that this stonework – which still endures, and looks to be in pretty good shape – is the same built by battalions of Peter's soldiers in the eighteenth century.

Note, in the right background, two huge stacks of logs, as high as the buildings next to them, and just as long, a truly immense stockpile. I wonder whether the logs in the foreground are about to join one of those huge piles (likely) or whether they have been taken from the piles (less likely). My guess would be that they are piled up there until they can be loaded on a transport and taken to a mill that is closer to a larger population centre, but that is speculation on my part.

This was a difficult shot to register because the logs moved around on the water as SPG took his three shots. People in the background moved; boats lining up to get into the lock moved; and one of the two fellows in the foreground took a quick look around to see if SPG was finished yet. So I had to do a lot of piece by piece compositing of sections of the shot to get everything to more or less line up. Lots of figures in the middle distance and in the faraway existed only as coloured blobs on one plate or another, so in several cases, I simply erased those partial figures from the shot. A red colour cast at the bottom of the shot proved more problematic, but I have reduced it as much as I can.

Update, 2014: I've gone over the shot one more time, trying to reduce the purple tones, to adjust the contrast on the logs, and reduce some of the fringing on the cloud images reflected in the water. I think, for now, this is the best I can do.

Update, 2024: Another revision, courtesy of Photoshop's updated tools, particularly using the Camera Raw filter.

I don't know but for some reason, I'm not feeling like my usual self today. I mean,

while at work I was playing cards with co-workers.. pretty fun.. But after I left, I felt down. I tried listening to some music but couldn't cheer myself up. plus they're the same repeated songs I've been listening to for the past 3 weeks. I don't own an iPod. I play my music from my phone so its pretty hard to be uploading and downloading songs with a busy schedule.

I have this mini shoot with one of Juan's friends tomorrow. First one I'm getting paid. I think this feeling is because of that. I don't understand why I'm feeling so gloomy. Usually when i go out on photo shoots, I get all excited. I don't know. I told myself I'll let this pass. Hopefully I'll feel better before tomorrow.

So I got home from work. I decided on buying new LED flashlights and a Bulb flashlight for my dad. When I got back, I wanted to test them out. I first thought of a self portrait but since it was still daytime, too bright. I grabbed my Kalimar 50mm and used it as my model instead. I had 4 LED flashlights, two in the front and 2 in the back, left and right. and one Bulb light on my left facing at an angle.. After a couple of shots, I got this one.. I'll post the setup below..

I thought of my cam to cheer me up a bit.. and it did =]] but theres always tomorrow...

1 x 580 EXII Bare Camera Left Full Power

Triggered by Pocket Wizard II's (That kept failing, AARGH!!)

I got to spend the day with my dearest and closest friend Kristen, who I only get to see maybe twice a year now. She is off in Waterloo getting all smart to become an optometrist, and when she came back for the holidays, I knew we had to try and shoot something.

I had figured doing some christmas light bokeh with my 135 f|2, but Kristen suggested that we drive out to Kananaskis and shoot near the upper and lower lakes. It was a perfectly clear day when we were driving out there and we had tried to plan it around the sunset, but when we arrived, the sky was fairly cloudy, and it was as if the sunset didn't even happen. It was light and then it got dark. WTF?

So we tried to make the best of it and for the second day in a row, my pocket wizards kept failing! Out of 80 shots, only 32 triggered the flash. I had worked out that it wasn't the recycle time, or the pc sync cables. I had to be within 10' and I could only shoot horizontal, as soon as I tried to shoot in vertical it would not trigger! I need to try some tests in a controlled environment to figure out what the hell is going on.

She was really good to stand there while I was pulling my hair out trying to get it going, but I could tell she was getting really cold so we packed it in. Maybe we will get to try again when she is back in the summer.

It's amazing how it coil in any support that serves to them to climb upper.

ENGLISH

In botany, a tendril is a specialized stem, leaf or petiole with a threadlike shape that is used by climbing plants for support and attachment, generally by twining around whatever it touches.

The earliest and most comprehensive study of tendrils was Charles Darwin's monograph On the Movements and Habits of Climbing Plants, which was originally published in 1865. This work also coined the term circumnutation to describe the motion of growing stems and tendrils seeking supports.

Second Life holiday parties was an incredible mix of trance, dnb, electronica, dark psy, goa, minimal, proggy, acid, experimental, industrial, noize, tribal, jazz, live music, country, blues, reggae, salsa, classical, opera, and Christmas music. I heard it all and then some.

I love music of all kinds. If it's good, it's worth listening to, so don't start with the nose-up-in-the-air over your favorite genre. Believe me... good music will always find an audience. An audience of sophisticated listeners will stop to listen to any good sound... even if it isn't part of your normal repertoire.

What is amazing is that dj's and musicians around the world know this, and they borrow from all genres to create their own personal sounds.

Here in Second Life, we get the results from around the world. World music mixes with the trendy sounds of the day, and we get the sounds that we love so much.

I want to thank all the dj's, musicians, club owners and event makers in SL. You guys made a holiday scene like no other. APPLAUSE & BRAVO ::::

One of the panoply of paradoxical conundrums that is me is the fact that I love graveyards, but almost never visit the ones where my ancestors are buried. I think that's because I like cemeteries for their aesthetic qualities and the abstract concept of them, but have issues with both the reality of modern day funerary customs- which aside from cremation are so terribly unecological- and the concept that life ends in some final way. Decades before I was buddhist I had in my head my own little notion of what happens to the powerful energy force that is a human being after their "earthly body" gives out. Much too complicated and abstruse to try to describe; suffice it to say the concept of this being one of many lives we will have always made sense to me.

From my childhood I don't remember my mother being afraid of much, but she was quite superstitious. When I broke a mirror last week accidentally while trying to make my weekly portrait, I could hear her in my head cluck-clucking about the seven years of bad luck that would no doubt be coming my way. So I clearly remember her making us cross streets so we would avoid walking by a graveyard. Which- of course- made them forbidden, and therefore terribly terribly appealing.

Having grown up in a large family I had developed pretty good skills for studying in loud cacophony, but was not prepared when I arrived at college for how often someone in the dorm would interrupt your paper-writing with some tempting suggested outing. Also, having lived in quarters for so many years with six other people and a dog, freshman year was the first opportunity I'd ever had to experience solitude once in a while- and I loved it! So it wasn't long before I discovered that the small 1700's graveyard that sat half-way between my hillside dormitory and the main part of the campus was a pleasant place to study. If I leaned against the back of one of the larger headstones high on the hill noone would be disturbed if they were visiting, and the birds, like me, found it the most peaceful place on campus, so I had companions who were not trying to lure me to a bar or a movie. The gravestones were beautiful in that simple colonial way, and because I didn't know better then about the damage it can cause, my dorm room was decorated with rubbings from a few of my favorites.

From that point on, whenever I saw a pretty graveyard in a new place, small or grand, I would visit it. Not a compulsion, but always a pleasant excursion. Years passed, and sometime in the early 80s I think it was my housemate John who introduced me to Mount Auburn Cemetery in Cambridge, MA which is truly about my favorite place on earth. It's acres and acres of landscaped cemetery that is so large it has two sizeable ponds, a high hill with a tower that gives a view of several miles, a picturesque dell with a vernal pool the size of a pond, and so much land that the paths have street-signs (Wysteria Path, Holly Lane, ...), New visitors are well advised to make the tiny donation to obtain a map lest they spend a bit more time there than planned when they can't find their way out. I've been visiting this magical place for over 20 years, to the point where I'm just recently bold enough to visit without my dog-eared map, but sure enough, when I was there last Thursday I found myself in a section I'd never explored before, and was lost for a pleasant but disorienting half hour. The map is also useful because it points out the many many famous graves there; Henry Wadsworth Longfellow, Mary Baker Eddy, Robert Gould Shaw, and a bevy of names- some of which don't have three components :-) - that are well known in literary or history-loving households. If anyone's interested in how beautiful the place is here are a few of my humble sets of images from there (soon I'll post a set of Thursday's autumn photos).

And better photographs on the official website- www.mountauburn.org/ Unlike so many historical cemeteries, this one is still a very active burial ground- I had to carefully skirt three funerals on Thursday lest I intrude on people's grief- and there are two beautiful chapels and a crematorium on the grounds. It's also, because the substantial and knowledgeable grounds crew keeps this "museum of trees" so lush and healthy, the premier birding location in greater Boston with birders given a key to enter before the official early morning opening. I try to go at least every couple of months to enjoy watching the seasons change and unfold.

So why am I so drawn to this place where I know noone buried, and avoid going to the places where my ancestors are interred? Part of it, I know, is because I've been spoiled by beautiful cemeteries and for various practical and complex family reasons my relations all seem to be buried in hideous modern graveyards where there are precious few natural plantings and rules about what you are and are not allowed to place at a grave. Where my father's parents are interred you can place nothing! at a grave so as to make it easier for the lawn mowing staff. It's a bleak and barren place unconducive to happy memories of loved ones. My mother is buried near her parents in Indiana, a bit too far away for frequent visits, and it's a more pleasant place than the aforementioned (odd, too, to know my Uncle Bobby is buried there near mom since he was one of the groundskeepers there for years). But the design of it is a bit helter-skelter, and the modern tombstones lack the elegance of the places I love, and I prefer to think of my mother more in day to day moments than there. That's not to say I think a graveyard needs to be fancy. I think the most spiritual burying ground I ever visited was a small dirt plot with simple hand-fashioned crosses on the Taos Pueblo in New Mexico. There was something so profoundly personal about those crosses, that you knew were made by those who loved the deceased, that it was moving beyond belief.

One of the delights of flickr has been discovering how many people there are who love graveyards as much as I do. The "graveyard groupies" group is full of them, and- understandably- I'm discovering more and more devotees this time of year as they upload seasonal images. One person who blows me away with his gentle and respectful and insightful images of graveyards is Sunset Sailor. He uploaded this lovely image today and I've been thinking about it ever since. www.flickr.com/photos/sunsetsailor/1652968042/ If you dig deeper into his photostream you'll find others.

It's easy, at Mount Auburn, to think about those in my family who've died with so many generations buried there... so many styles of headstone that are physical manifestations of the continuum of life. Whenever I'm there I like to sit at one of the ponds and remember, and contemplate, and honor those ancestors I've known and loved. I'd like to think they'd approve my visits to them from afar.

. . . . .

This image was, obviously, not taken at my beloved Mt. Auburn. I didn't have a tripod with me on Thursday, and besides was too stupid to think of taking an arm's length portrait. It's taken at the tiny sad sad little historic cemetery that is two blocks from my house. The oldest and most historic graveyard in Somerville, MA, it's bordered by an auto collision specialist, an extremely busy main street, an old brick manufacturing building that now houses a wrestling gym (the nicest of the vistas), and the parking lot of the busiest grocery store in town. It has a locked gate (I know how to sneak in and so do those less benign), rubbish and debris everywhere, is unkempt even after city workers have deigned to mow the grass, and if some respectful homeless folk did not live in the toolshed on the grounds- if you can call a place the size of a large house "grounds"- I expect vandals would have toppled most of the graves by now. Makes me sad every time I walk by, and I've been trying to figure out what can be done to help when it's in such a terribly inhospitable setting.

large is the only way

ok..so these are the calgary pee wee wildcats..11 and 12 year olds who are a total blast to work with..for the second year in a row..after i took about 43 individual shots of the kids it was time for the team shot..which is always fine and good,..but this style is way more fun..'go crazy' i said..which they did..all in good fun aside from a slightly injured leg from the bottom of the 'dogpile'..a woman coach said to me afterwards.."never say 'go crazy' to football players"..to which i said.."i did the same thing last year..without injury! "

a great time to say the least :)

~~~I have all the characteristics of a Human Being : blood, flesh, skin, hair; but not a single, clear, identifiable emotion, except for greed and disgust. Something horrible is happening inside of me and I don't know why. My nightly bloodlust has overflown into my days. I feel lethal, on the verge of frenzy. I think my mask of sanity is about to slip
~ There is an idea of myself, some kind of abstraction, but there is no real me, only an entity, something illusory, and although I can hide my cold gaze and you can shake my hand and feel flesh gripping you,and maybe you can even sense our lifestyles are probably comparable: I simply am not there.~~~
this Week has been one of dwelling on the past alot. so many things have
sprung up in my memory and distracted me from the present.
many good memories with wonderful people, but somehow this has
brought me to feeling weighed down by the passing of time.
How often in our lives, when good times surround us, do we really
appreciate them for what they are?
It always seems to be looking back on special memories that makes us ache
to have them again, altho at the time we were simply Content.
Some time in the last couple weeks i have found myself concerned
about something i haven't before. Comments and views. how ridiculous,right?
I don't do this for peoples praise,and i honestly dont want people to
give me anything than their blunt personal opinion.. . but i have felt a little more
needy as of late. a trait i dont normally have,and i certainly do NOT like.
and since i have now recognized this, and don't like it...
i have rewired my brain to go back to where it was.
And, a day later (today) ... the Lovely and talented BITCA put This Up , and
completely was the highlight of my day.
I have never been one to take
compliments well, and i dont deal well with being the center of attention,
But her words and her thoughts warmed me. So thanks Lady :P you are too kind.
STOMP STOMP STOMP
So ... since i got my 50D,i Really wanted a Canon 10-22mm wide angle lens, but couldn't afford one. People were asking what i wanted for Xmas,and i mentioned the lens and told them it was too expensive.
So when i opened up some Camera stuff,i was about to
get upset with people for spending so much on me.
But as it turns out ,a bunch of them went in together to help get me closer to the goal,and finally last week i was able to order it.
it just got here less then an hour ago ,and this is the first shot with it.
Kick Ass.
this lens is awesome and i will find so many ways to change up my 365 with it now.
SO MANY DRUMMY SIZED thanks to everyone who helped me get this lens, you guys are too kind. Each and every shot is all because of you,and I appreciate this so much more than i could say in words.
* No, i did not kick the lens as soon as i got it.:P however,my foot is about 6 inches away from the camera,for those who wondered what this lens does.
