Here you see the "Se de Lisboa" the ancient cathedral of Lisbon, built upon an old Mosque just after Lisbon was conquered from the Moors in the 12th century A.C. by the english crusader Gilbert de Hastings; the title I gave to this photo is because this monument (today a mixture of many styles) has survived 3 earthquakes - even the big one of 1755. This is a typical view of the bright colours of the city and its amazing light, mixing old and new - this unique combination of styles and colours makes Lisbon a most attractive city to visit.

i picked these on my way back home tonight, put them in a little beaker next to my computer, next to a simple lampshade... and proceeded to check my email and flickr.
i intended to do a quick, very closeup macro shot of one of them, but i liked the light on them from the lamp -- i decided to go with this.

Panoramica compuesta por tres tomas
El Lago del Valle es el de mayor extensión de la Cordillera Cantábrica y está emplazado en un antiguo circo glaciar, con paredes subverticales y en el frente se puede observar depósitos irregulares, angulosos y de muy diferente tamaño (morrenas). Tiene forma de herradura, con una pequeña isla en el centro. Su perímetro es de unos 2.000 m, con 45 m. de calado máximo, fue recrecido artificialmente para su aprovechamiento hidroeléctrico. El valle tiene forma de U y a lo largo de él se pueden contemplar grandes bloques irregulares y estriados que fueron transportados por el antiguo glaciar, sobre algunos se observan arboles, que dan al paisaje un tono pintoresco. Se han catalogado más de 200 especies de fauna como el lobo, águila real, oso pardo, urogallo....En las zonas altas hay casas con techo de escoba (teitos) que han estado siempre ligadas a la vida trashumante y ganadera de los vaqueiros de alzada

Esto es lo que captas con el 18mm sino haces una panorámica, aunque bueno, me gusta la toma y el resultado después de procesarla también.
Aquí os dejo otra serie de Torrelobatón y ya hasta el lunes nada, que me voy de "excursión" por más pueblos :) que lo paséis bien este finde.

On my first unaided walk on Sunday I noticed these bud emrging from I am not sure whether a Maple or a Birch tree. These are very small maybe two inches in diameter so shot up close with the 50mm this is what I got.

Alle pendici del Gennargentu, con i suoi 1000 metri slm; Fonni è il paese più alto della Sardegna.
Con questi murales si è voluto creare una sorta di ponte tra il presente moderno e il suo passato agro pastorale, una sorta di viaggio virtuale sui sentieri della memoria.

La verdad, es que la mayoria de las veces en que sacamos una fotografia, no apreciamos al 100% que es lo que tenemos delante, vemos una escena que nos gusta, y disparamos. Solo al revelar el negativo apreciamos la belleza o el poco interes de lo que hemos fotografiado. Ahi esta la magia de este arte, resaltar las escenas cotidianas y plasmarlas bajo nuestro prisma.

La primera documentación del municipio es del año 905 con la forma in territorio Sevedano. La iglesia de Santa Maria aparece citada en el año 953 y la masía del Muntanyà en 1045. En 1875 se creó la estación de ferrocarril de Balenyà-Tona-Seva alrededor de la cual surgió el núcleo de población conocido como Balenyà-Estació o Sant Miquel de Balenyà. En 1996 el municipio incorporó la totalidad del núcleo de Sant Miquel de Balenyà hasta entonces repartido entre los de Seva, Tona, Balenyà y Malla.

Red Rocks, Hoylake, the Wirral, Merseyside. This place is called named after the red sandstone that stick out the ground. Although as they are the sea for a large part of the day the rocks are more green than red.

Goloritzé - Golfo di Orosei
il "Selvaggio blu" è un itinerario di trekking di 8 giorni lungo le mulattiere usate dai carbonai e le falesie dei golfi di Arbatax e Orosei
Per la particolare asperità del territorio, per il percorso molto "tecnico" e per la difficoltà a incontrare sorgenti d'acqua è stato definito "Il trekking più dificile d'Europa".
il selvaggio blu richiede un buon allenamento fisico, buone capacità di orientamento e conoscenza di base delle tecniche alpinistiche poichè il percorso prevede alcuni tratti di arrampicata e alcune discese in corda doppia anche di 45 metri.
Ci sono però anche dei tratti più tranquill, accessibii a chiunque abbia voglia di farsi una bella camminata con scarpe adatte, naturalmeme, perchè siamo sempre in Supramonte!!)

La Actinidia
è originaria della Cina continentale ed orientale; tali regioni sono caratterizzate da inverni freddi ed estati calde, nuvolose, piovose ed umide. La pianta occupa gli ambienti ripariali di fiumi e ruscelli, quindi con suolo umido e con scorrimento d'acqua.
La pianta
è una liana rampicante a foglie caduche, di notevoli dimensioni, in grado di arrivare fino a 10 m di altezza. L'ancoraggio ai supporti, in natura costituiti da alberi o rupi, avviene attraverso il fusto stesso, che nella parte terminale si avvolge come un viticcio (alla maniera dei fagioli).
Le foglie
giovani sono a forma di cuore, appuntite, ed a maturità (quando inizia a fiorire) sono nettamente tondeggianti, spesso dorsalmente convesse. I giovani getti, i piccioli delle foglie e dei fiori sono ispidi e pelosi con peli bruni. I rami più vecchi sono dotati di una corteccia grigia ruvida e verrucosa, il tronco possiende una corteccia scabra e ruvida di colore marrone grigiastro mentre i rami giovani hanno consistenza erbacea.
I frutti
sono lunghe bacche ovali con buccia robusta coperta da peli; buccia e peli hanno consistenza suberosa con forti contenuti tannici.
La polpa
è soda, dolce ed acidula; su un asse centrale più o meno fibroso di placentazione detto "columella" sono radialmente distribuiti centinaia di piccoli semi scuri, non avvertiti quando si mangia il frutto; sottili filamenti connettono ogni seme con la columella realizzando una struttura che in sezione appare "a filamenti radiali", tale struttura giustifica il nome della famiglia (Actinidiaceae) che appunto richiama dal greco la forma attinomorfa, cioè "raggiata". Tale forma è ovviamente presente anche nella struttura del fiore e dei suoi annessi, evocando un fattore di primitività. I frutti hanno dimensione molto variabile, ma comunque da una larghezza di 2-3 a 5 cm, e lunghezza da 4 ad 8 cm.
This amazing place (called the Almendres Cromlech) is one of the most ancient megalthitc "circles" in Europe (biggest in Iberia) - 2.000 years before Stonehenge still today the experts do not fully understand their meanting ... in the middle of "nowhere", near the ancient city of Evora, Portugal, it is a "sight to see" --- it is so big and vast and so many different shapes of "rocks" ... in the middle there is always a "Tree of Life" for it was a place once used to worship the Land, Mother Earth and the Sun ... if you saw my last picture you will see why I put this set...
