I am taken by the Spirit of the Kermode Bear and what it represents. The background of the Bear is painted a pearlescent cream colour to keep with the Integrity of the Bear. I took the legend of the Swallows and painted them onto the Spirit Bear. The Good Luck Swallows that brought the Sun to Earth on their tails now lend their support to the Spirit Bear to give it Wings to Fly. This project is an illuminating step in creating awareness for the Kermode Bears environment and their future. What we do for them as Kindred Spirits we do to ourselves.

A more metallic finish than the first set we did using using a new silver basecoat .

The project I was working on last weekend - terminado! Three aquamarine pages, eyelet bound in a red backing with a vellum overlay.

All the paper is Stardream, a mica-coated pearlescent stock which is made using pulp sourced from sustainable, well-managed forests. And it is absolutely beautiful. Photos cannot capture the soft, shimmery loveliness of the paper.

Inspired by red coral and by Tord Boontje's botanicals.

Deboxing the Designer SQ Elsa and Hans Doll Set, with slipcover and acrylic cover off, so the dolls are in the clear. They are secured to the cardboard backing, the plastic supports and the built in doll stands. Next we split open the backing, so we can detach the dolls from the backing. The backing is then laid flat, and cut off from the base. The dolls are still attached to the plastic supports and doll stands. Next we free Hans from the display stand, and lay him down. He still have remnants of various factory restraints that have to be removed. Then he is fully deboxed.

I have finally deboxed the Designer Fairytale Snow Queen Elsa and Hans Doll Set (2015). My set is #4597 of 6000. It was the only set that I didn't get at the Disney Store raffle, so I had to order her online. I show the set boxed, during deboxing and fully deboxed. After deboxing them, I place them back on their display stand, in a different pose.

I was a little surprised that Elsa has the body construction of the 2012 DS Classic Princess dolls, so has external hinged knee joints and ankle joints. It makes her legs a bit unsightly when they are exposed by opening the slit of the skirt. She has shiny pearlescent skin that is similar to the Harrods Elsa doll, but doesn't have the heavy blush. Her Snow Queen outfit also has embellishments that are more similar to that of the Harrods Elsa rather than that of the LE 2500 Snow Queen Elsa. But rather than the jeweled snowflakes of the 17'' LE Elsa she has single clear rhinestones throughout her braid, and a few on her head. The snowflake and icicle design in her cape are printed rather than embroidered (as in the 17'' LE Elsas) or glittered (as in the Classic Elsa). They are flat and smooth, and I don't think are as effective in depicting ice.

The major embellishments of Designer Hans over Classic Hans are the addition of white gloves, and a sword. However, It's disappointing that there is no scabbard for the sword - it is loosely sewn to his pants legs, which looks rather cheap.

I will show the dolls in side by side comparisons to other Elsa and Hans dolls in future postings.

Yep, I went! I saw! I met!

If you live near there, or if you're free on whatever day it will be held on next year, please go. It was fantastic - I met Karrde, Dr S, Peter (legoloverman), Ralph (mad physicist), Tac and some other people besides. It's a shame I missed Zimzø, though.

Stuff I now know as a result of going:

- Ralph's diner is pearlescent grey

- You need a proper salary to buy bricks for the sort of stuff on display there

- I should never consider building a fully-green Lego army

- BrickArms aren't bad at all

- I need to buy a book with all the Lego sets in it

- I need to build more Classic Space

- Unless I have secret contacts within Lego, I can't build a large-scale Mærsk container carriage with pearlescent grey

- I need more Lego. Well, I knew that anyway, but going there yesterday just fortified the need.

My haul:

- A hot rod specially designed mini-set

- A couple of BrickArms, including a baseball bat and a rifle-like thing (I'm not looking up names)

- Chaucilla Cemetery Battle

- £10 left to put into my funds for a large Lego Factory brick selection

It was great to meet you all there, and thanks for talking to me (etc) and (for the most part) remember who I was.

~John

This new lens is a work of art. It's simply gorgeous. Entirely hand made, fully metal construction, hand etched Shippo-yaki markings (pearlescent cloisonne enamel), very limited edition. The epitome of Japanese engineering and art. It's wide angle at 31mm and fast at f/1.8. Voted one of the best prime lenses EVER made by Popular Photography. These lenses are semi-legendary in their construction and sharpness. This is the latest HD variant of this lens designed for digital cameras and even the lens cap is metal and lined with velvet. I've been waiting several months for this day and I cannot wait to shoot with this bad boy. Expensive? Sure. But it's an investment right? 😁

Every year my niece spends a week of her summer at her grandparents and this is considered her vacation. This is her sitting on Grandma's front porch, helping Grandma by watering the flowers. Sorry the pic isn't the best quality, but I had to take it indoors. The pearlescent paper picked up the light on top. tfl.

I'm very much enjoying giving my character cats legs! This Coco Chanel Cat is nearly 8cm tall and has quite a bit of attitude! I based this on one of her early photos. I made up the circular wire detail on both the belt and her beret, and the strings of pearls are made using tiny individual dots of pearlescent clay. This was made for the same person who had commissioned Scott of the Antarctic Cat.

Barbie® Mermaid Enchantress™ doll, the second doll to debut in the Mythical Muse™ fantasy series, features a sea-inspired look with enchanted details. Fish-scale sequins in soft coral and sea-foam hues cover Barbie® doll’s mermaid tail, creating a shimmering effect from every angle. Accessories inspired by ocean treasures include a coral accented headpiece, peplum and earrings. Barbie® doll’s flowing, pearlescent hair is kissed with pastel pink and blue highlights and features a delicate braided detail.

This is one of the cards that I made as a example for the card making workshop I help to run. I was demonstrating making our own backgrounds. I love this big, bold flower stamp and I think it makes a brilliant background. I've stamped it all over the pearlescent cardstock, remembering to stamp some of the flowers 'off the edge' to give it an all over look.

I've stamped the flower again on a piece of cream card and added a 'happy birthday'. Then I've stamped the flower again, cut it out and added it. I've finished it off with a pink button.

The 'happy birthday' stamp is from Hero Arts set LL662 Small Greetings and the bold flower is by Stampin' Up.

This is a set of tea, painted on a blue/violet pearlescent ombre, with paintings of dragons and golden handlers.

The big teapot is completely functional and has a music box on its basement. Such a delicate set.

I have no information on how this was acquired.

Behold the third and final doll to enchant the Barbie® Mythical Muse™ Series. Dragon Empress™ Barbie® doll is a bold, statuesque beauty with a dramatic wingspan. She wears a scale-detailed bodice in metallic mint-green and pink ombre. Beneath it is a glittered, scale-printed skirt with a slit that reveals her pearlescent, heroic heels. Her headpiece, in matching pastel ombre hues, crowns her cascading fantastical hair. A dragon-inspired cuff coils her arm, completing the look. Poised to take flight to a distant land, Dragon Empress™ Barbie® doll makes the perfect gift for collectors and fantasy lovers.

PERSONAL FUN FACT: I found this set and a few other Kelly accessory packs, at the Dollar Store circa 2003, when I was a kid. I was not very impressed by the accessories themselves in this pack. The wand, the bag, and the crown were just recycled molds made originally for Barbie. The purse is the same as the ones sold with my Corduroy Cool Barbies, only it is in a light pink color. It's size is way too awkwardly large to be used practically with Kelly dolls, even for dress up, so I ended up putting it with my Barbie stuff when I was younger. The wand and the crown sat around my Kelly dress up trunk, mostly unused. The shoes were the main attraction from this set, and the reason I purchased the pack in the first place. I love how these shoes have a pearlescent tone. The white slippers got lots of use in particular, despite the fact that the purple sandals were my favorite Kelly shoe mold back then!

The coloring series of Oak Pearlescent Pigments has more than 50 different colors. The mica particles coated with organic color paste have a strong metallic luster and will not fade easily. Ohemgee!!! After 2,000 years of searching, I finally found Barbie Basics Red Model # 3 with good eyes! This makes me happy! (I'm such a dork). Overall, she has better screening than the one I bought before. This Steffie has more of a "pearlescent" lips while the other has just glossy red lips. I'm keeping both by the way. Toodles!

The pearlescent White really shows the sparkle in different lighting conditions.

Using the Carol Zilliacus technique, I placed thin strips of clay over a similar background. The white bands are a very thin layer of pearlescent clay.

Enterprise D with fiber optic windows lit by LEDs. Not screen accurate as they look like pinholes not oblong windows but this was a straight from the box build before I started kitbashing and modifying my models. The impulse engines are red because that's what the instructions said to paint them. Not accurate but they work for me and I haven't taken the time to repaint them.

I hand brushed the two tone grey aztec pattern using MM enamel over the airbrushed MM enamel duck egg blue hull.

I followed that with an overspray of MM pearlescent blue metallic transparent lacquer which really unified the look of the ship.

Hi, Mom!

This particular AC Cobra Replica was in amazing condition when it was spotted as an exhibit at the 2013 Classic Transport Gathering at Crich Tramway Village in Derbyshire, on the 26th August 2013. This particular Pilgrim Sumo was made back in 2003 and it was first registered in the UK, in the same year, on the 1st of April 2003 so presumably has lived in the UK all its life. This one does have its original engine according to the DVLA, a 5.7 Litre (5700cc) V8 engine which runs on petrol. This particular car when seen had been given pearlescent paint, and this is the paint that changes colour depending upon the angle of viewing, this paint costs around £1000 a litre.

Ahhh, the rare Size 13 Gunne! And a beautiful sparkling white gown!

This gorgeous dress has so many special features: sheer lace sleeves, full lace skirt, ruffled hemline with an eyelet flower design, the same eyelet flower design is at the cuffs, waist, and (vertically) at the bust, which also features four lovely pearlescent buttons (also at cuffs). Precious scoop neck. Zips and ties into a bow in back.

The ends of the ties have a bit of discoloration, and there is a light brown stain on the lace near the hem of the skirt in back. Just needs a little bleach, nevertheless I have lowered the price. (See 5th photo).

It is always a treat to find a Gunne that is not an XS!

I love sending cards to friends. I started this one by stamping 2 images from PTI Turning a New Leaf in Brilliance Pearlescent Sky Blue & Lime. I used a circle die for the stamped piece & a slightly larger one on the panel die cut with PFS Blanket Stitch Rectangle. I backed the panel with black cardstock & mounted the stamped circle with fun foam. The solid small image from SSS Dreamy Daisy Layers was embossed in WOW White Twinkle & the top layer was colored with a COPIC & embossed in HA Sparkle ep. The Mama Elephant sentiment was die cut 3 times & covered with glaze. I added a black dot to the flower center.

BeoVision MX 4000: " The most beautiful television in the world "

Manfactured: 1992 - 2003

Designer: David Lewis

The MX range was the first to bring the TV out into the open and it continues to show alternative ways of living with television. Beovision MX4000 was the little brother of the MX6000 having the same functions but with some minor differences when it came to sound and picture. The speaker was not a 2-way bass reflex as in the MX6000 but a 2-way Logline speaker.

Complete with a choice of colours, the specially-designed wall brackets of the MX 4000/4002 gave you the option of placing the MX on the wall. The placement options of the MX 4000/4002 also included a motorised stand with room for your VCR/DVD player.

The TV had a 51cm screen, the same features as MX 6000, but with conventional loudspeakers, optional wall bracket, available in pearlescent shades of: green, blue, red, grey, black or glossy white. With a Beovision MX 4002 as an extra TV in the bedroom, you could access the video and satellite options of the Avant in the living room or wake up to music from the radio and CD of the Ouverture or BeoSound 3000. Beovision MX4002 was replaced with the MX4200 in 2003.

Beovision MX 4000 was the smallest television of Bang & Olufsen televisions in the late 1990s and right up to 2003. It had a 51cm screen, and was equipped with the latest generation of the Black Line picture tube, contrast screen and VisionClear technology. Together they provided an optimum picture quality under any lighting conditions - even when faced with direct sunshine. In spite of their modest size, the log-line loudspeakers located under the screen gave full-tone stereo with great depth and amplitude. MX 4000 had both A2 and NICAM Stereo decoders and Teletext-functions.

Beovision MX 4000 was probably the most flexible television as far as placing was concerned. You could place it directly on a floor, and using the spring bar underneath the set you could tilt it in order to improve viewing angle. You could place the MX 4000 on the wall with an optional bracket, which also came as a motorised version. When on the wall, you could tilt the screen downwards, towards a bed, for example. Or you could of course place the TV on a stand on the floor, or on a stand on a table. Both stands were available in motorised versions and the floor-stand had an optional video-shelf available. The motorised stand was operated via the Beolink® remote control, that also operated the television and video (shown) as well as all B&O audio systems and light control units.

Beovision MX 4000 was a great addition to a multi-room Beolink® system, where it acted as one link itself and could play audio from the audio system that was located elsewhere in your home. And on the other hand, you could direct the sound from the television to the speakers of your audio system.

It had the same beautiful, sleek and modern design as all other Beovision televisions; the design of which has even been compared to sports cars!

MX Design

Filling a television with every conceivable gadget that technology offers is easy enough. What's more difficult is identifying what really improves the overall experience of watching TV and eliminating the things that don't. That's the philosophy behind the MX range. In both form and function, it's a clear-cut case of less being more.

Complete with a choice of 6 colours that included green and white, the specially-designed wall brackets of the MX 4000 gave you the option of placing your MX on the wall. The placement options of the MX 4000 also included a motorised stand with room for your VCR/DVD player. The TV was controlled by the provided Beo4 remote control.

Looking particularly modern in this trendy matte black finish is the latest version of the Majorette Honda CR-Z. Part of the new Premium singles range which can be found in U.K. Tesco stores this casting has already been seen in the normal line up in pearlescent white and indeed can probably still be picked up from Poundworld. This Premium edition isn't actually any better in the finish or detailing department but it's still a great little model of a faintly futuristic looking coupe which has always been a rare sight on our roads. Mint and boxed.

7 years old! Happy birthday to You Both ♥

The cans used were a Arizona Iced Tea (the black can with the pink flowers on it--found along the roadside while driving--I need a bumper sticker that says I brake for trash! LOL)) a Coke (gotten out of a neighbor's recycling bin several weeks ago) , and a LaCroix Sparkling Water (I used to drink this and saved this can for at least 3.5 years ) . Of course every can was washed and scrubbed, and also wiped with rubbing alcohol before gluing or lacquering. I got rid of any sharp edges too.

Polymer clay pendants made using my two new texture sheets and pearlescent/metallic powders. Nothing clever about these, but that's about the extent of my talent with polymer clay! (Apart from some 12th scale dollshouse food made long ago...)
