As Britney Spears once said – ā€œOops!...I Did It Againā€, LOL... Well, here is another completed custom painted guitar project I’ve finished. This time I decided to go with a Flame theme in purple hues, actually those colors are a Pearlescent Lavender to Plum burst, with some vivid peril Violet Candy mixed in. I’ve also hand painted those Silver Flames with some added Holographic glitter I’d blended into the metallic silver paint, so it really sparkles in the sunlight. Additionally, I’ve added many special touches to this wonderful Stratocaster. I do hope you like it as much as I do! Anemone stings can be deadly to fish. This is a purple tang, but I don't think I used a bright enough blue for the fish. This card is the weird mishmash of starting it out as a whimsical drawing on the right, and suddenly going realistic on the left :-/...

This is one of 24 boxes for sale by auction on eBay. Full details are here: Decorative Hexagonal Origami Gift Boxes

Proceeds of the sale will be donated to the Tohoku Earthquake Relief Fund organised by the UK based Japan Society.

The auctions close between 9:10 a.m. and 2:24 p.m. GMT (London Time) on Saturday 24th March 2012.

If you are an accurate and consistent paper folder, but are new to unit origami, and you would like to make your own box, I would recommend her book "Origami Boxes" [# ISBN-10: 0870408216 - # ISBN-13: 978-0870408212] as an excellent introduction. Connecting the units together can be a bit fiddly at first, and the book also includes designs for more simple square and triangular boxes, which give the opportunity to practice and develop the skills needed for doing more complex assembly. Judging by the high prices [as of March 2012], on bookfinder the book seems to be out of print, but only relatively recently, as I bought a new copy a few years ago from Amazon, so it is worth looking around for. The design may also be published in other books. (Also note that there is also a different design for a similar hexagonal box using only two sheets of paper each for the lid and base.

She has also created and written about very much more complex models. "Unit Origami: Multidimensional Transformations" [ISBN-10: 0870408526 - ISBN-13: 978-0870408526] is considered a classic text on the subject.

Paper making was a traditional supplemental business for farmers in Japan during the winter. The very cold water during that season enabled the fibres in the pulp to be soaked without becoming subject to decay, and some also argue that cold shrinks the fibres, creating a finer, crisper paper.

Block captaining is significant to me and my family. It was the first public service role my fiancĆ© ever held when he was eleven-years-old and he has made them an annual tradition in North Philadelphia neighborhoods, where I support and visually document. At our 2021 MLK Day of Service Block Cleanup organized with social media personality @YaFaveTrashman for the blocks south of 17th Street and Jefferson, a spritely elder sermonized as loudly as the silver LOVE JESUS pin in her navy turban sparkled about how the cleaning has to continue. As we locked eyes on that corner in front of Jay St. Food Market, she handed me an undated 135-word poem capitalized as BROOM AND GROOM, signed ā€œGail Gamble, Block Captain.ā€ Carrying a silent battery-operated blue pearlescent boombox DIGITAL cd player in one hand, Ms. Gamble seemed oblivious to the nearly twenty tons of trash, collected by a citywide coalition of nonprofits, nearby politicians, small businesses, aspiring electeds, and corporate franchises like Starbucks providing free coffee to the neighbors. Mostly students and people under the age of 40 broke their quarantining and studying to serve this single-day public purpose. The old-timer was not satisfied with this day of action and kept handing out her poems, which read: This flyer is written to every neighbor!! Individually, as we gather collectively to become a community!! Wake Up!! Take notice!! Have some Pride!! Stop being content with letting all this trash Fly! Surely it is not falling from the sky! The sanitation Department is doing their job! So, why must we go on living like slobs?! When you travel all over the City, It is such a pity! Some areas are so trifling! Come on Now! Show some class! Let’s start cleaning up all this trash! It is time to change, our mentality! Don’t let TRASH be our Reality Have some pride and start cleaning up on the outside, So let us bust the move! Grab a broom and start to groom! Our neighborhood!! And it will be much better, if we all work together! What we discovered in the recovery of eight vacant, under-groomed, weed-infested lots along the block was that Mrs. Gamble was right to be harsh. But the problem ran deeper than the line in her poem, ā€œThe sanitation Department is doing their job!ā€ These lots have absentee landowners not beholden to trash enforcement like residential neighbors with landlords. Thus, neighbors dealt with far more than everyday trash being dumped: entire toilets, hardly-damaged silk-embroidered couch, basketballs, and more. These lots equal reflections of the environmental injustice and everyday individual detachment that littering symbolizes. Put differently, her pep talk could use some policy to go along with it. Even in this spectacular act of correcting for the years of neglect to these lots, it required a mental shift from the Sanitation Department. They agreed to come to pick up the trash with an already mostly full truck, assuming it was only an average block cleanup. We ended up needing reinforcements hauling away the hundreds of dutifully-organized toddler-sized trash bags: far more than the City estimated that a single block cleanup could muster. These were not just blocks to be groomed; they were makeshift waste sites marbled in between not just low-income homes but shelters like Lutheran Settlement House, convenience stores like Jay St. Food Market, churches like New Generation Church of Christ, and even around the corner from Senator Street’s District Office. There was only so much they and warriors like Ms. Gamble could do: The City would also have to be a better neighbor.

Pink liquid waterpaint (Ecoline) with white acrylic FW ink on the background, Black pearlescent FW ink for the giraffes.

The base of this bead is a pale brown or amber clear glass; when I applied the silver-rich glass on top of it, the glass became a pale, almost pearlescent colour which reflect light through the core and makes it appear to have a golden glow, hence the name "Golden Dragonskin".

The "scales" vary in shades of delicate colours from pale blues and aquas through to pearlescent pinks and purples.

I found this huge old silver plated tray and gave it a kind of shabby cottage makeover! Painted ivory with pearlescent white highlights and sweet little hand painted pink roses. Cottage sweet!

Judging by the amount of these Majorette Ford Mustang Boss models in my collection they obviously made a very good impression on me when they first began to appear on the pegs of Poundworld back in March 2016! The virtues of Majorette quality and attention to detail have long been appreciated by collectors especially when you compare this to a similar priced Hot Wheels equivalent. A dazzling pearlescent white paint finish with neat contrasting black stripes help to flatter the crisp and well sculptured body which for its budget status features clear plastic lenses and impressive levels of detailing to the rear. Mint and boxed.

Polymer clay beads with a pearlescent coating which has been selectively cut away to reveal the more vivid colours underneath.

Deboxing the Designer SQ Elsa and Hans Doll Set, with slipcover and acrylic cover off, so the dolls are in the clear. They are secured to the cardboard backing, the plastic supports and the built in doll stands.

I have finally deboxed the Designer Fairytale Snow Queen Elsa and Hans Doll Set (2015). My set is #4597 of 6000. It was the only set that I didn't get at the Disney Store raffle, so I had to order her online. I show the set boxed, during deboxing and fully deboxed. After deboxing them, I place them back on their display stand, in a different pose.

I was a little surprised that Elsa has the body construction of the 2012 DS Classic Princess dolls, so has external hinged knee joints and ankle joints. It makes her legs a bit unsightly when they are exposed by opening the slit of the skirt. She has shiny pearlescent skin that is similar to the Harrods Elsa doll, but doesn't have the heavy blush. Her Snow Queen outfit also has embellishments that are more similar to that of the Harrods Elsa rather than that of the LE 2500 Snow Queen Elsa. But rather than the jeweled snowflakes of the 17'' LE Elsa she has single clear rhinestones throughout her braid, and a few on her head. The snowflake and icicle design in her cape are printed rather than embroidered (as in the 17'' LE Elsas) or glittered (as in the Classic Elsa). They are flat and smooth, and I don't think are as effective in depicting ice.

The major embellishments of Designer Hans over Classic Hans are the addition of white gloves, and a sword. However, It's disappointing that there is no scabbard for the sword - it is loosely sewn to his pants legs, which looks rather cheap.

I will show the dolls in side by side comparisons to other Elsa and Hans dolls in future postings.

Unless the President of the United States hires out his limousines to hen parties and weddings i'm not sure why they would be seen in an all white vehicle! Matchbox obviously have to maximise the investment they've made in a casting which means plenty of new colours to keep the collectors and kids happy which obviously explains this. Taking into account this is a toy I actually really like it and it does actually look good in this pearlescent white finish. The Cadillac One limo is a great casting with plenty of detailing and those attractive chrome disc wheels, blacked out windows showing no interior probably isn't really an issue for this type of vehicle either. Bought from Morrisons. Mint and boxed.

I am taken by the Spirit of the Kermode Bear and what it represents. The background of the Bear is painted a pearlescent cream colour to keep with the Integrity of the Bear. I took the legend of the Swallows and painted them onto the Spirit Bear. The Good Luck Swallows that brought the Sun to Earth on their tails now lend their support to the Spirit Bear to give it Wings to Fly. This project is an illuminating step in creating awareness for the Kermode Bears environment and their future. What we do for them as Kindred Spirits we do to ourselves.

Smashed late-model Thunderbird at Antelope Valley Auto Wrecking, Little Rock, CA. One of the strangest car colors of the last 10 years. Night, full moon, 15 second exposure and natural flashlight.

Reprocessed and replaced, August 2023.

Just picked up a replacement Alfa Romeo. This one is a SportWagon and is pearlescent green, which looks good.

Impressive Mercedes SLS AMG, 2011... Pearlescent White with Red Leather that I spotted on a Car dealer nearby here...Seeing this car "for real" changed my idea about it. I“m liking it more and more now, specially on this color...There was a SLR Roadster on the same dealer, and I still think the SLR is more beautiful, but the SLS definitely has grown on me.

Deboxing the Designer SQ Elsa and Hans Doll Set, with slipcover and acrylic cover off, so the dolls are in the clear. They are secured to the cardboard backing, the plastic supports and the built in doll stands. Next we split open the backing, so we can detach the dolls from the backing. The backing is then laid flat, and cut off from the base. The dolls are still attached to the plastic supports and doll stands. Next we free Hans from the display stand, and lay him down. He still have remnants of various factory restraints that have to be removed. Then he is fully deboxed.

The Century is to Japan what the Rolls-Royce is to the United Kingdom : a cultural icon. This majestic V12 - the only one ever built by Toyota - represents the pinnacle of Japanese luxury and discretion. Finished in the rare "Goshikigai Blue Mica", a deep shade that reveals a subtle pearlescent shimmer in sunlight, and featuring a wool interior with lace curtains, this model exudes understated elegance and craftsmanship. Each Century was hand-assembled with an almost ceremonial approach at Toyota's exclusive Higashi-Fuji workshop. Target audience : top government officials, industrial magnates, and members of the Imperial Household.

This new lens is a work of art. It's simply gorgeous. Entirely hand made, fully metal construction, hand etched Shippo-yaki markings (pearlescent cloisonne enamel), very limited edition. The epitome of Japanese engineering and art. It's wide angle at 31mm and fast at f/1.8. Voted one of the best prime lenses EVER made by Popular Photography. These lenses are semi-legendary in their construction and sharpness. This is the latest HD variant of this lens designed for digital cameras and even the lens cap is metal and lined with velvet. I've been waiting several months for this day and I cannot wait to shoot with this bad boy. Expensive? Sure. But it's an investment right? 😁

Every year my niece spends a week of her summer at her grandparents and this is considered her vacation. This is her sitting on Grandma's front porch, helping Grandma by watering the flowers. Sorry the pic isn't the best quality, but I had to take it indoors. The pearlescent paper picked up the light on top. tfl.

I'm very much enjoying giving my character cats legs! This Coco Chanel Cat is nearly 8cm tall and has quite a bit of attitude! I based this on one of her early photos. I made up the circular wire detail on both the belt and her beret, and the strings of pearls are made using tiny individual dots of pearlescent clay. This was made for the same person who had commissioned Scott of the Antarctic Cat.

BarbieĀ® Mermaid Enchantressā„¢ doll, the second doll to debut in the Mythical Museā„¢ fantasy series, features a sea-inspired look with enchanted details. Fish-scale sequins in soft coral and sea-foam hues cover BarbieĀ® doll’s mermaid tail, creating a shimmering effect from every angle. Accessories inspired by ocean treasures include a coral accented headpiece, peplum and earrings. BarbieĀ® doll’s flowing, pearlescent hair is kissed with pastel pink and blue highlights and features a delicate braided detail.

Yep, I went! I saw! I met!

If you live near there, or if you're free on whatever day it will be held on next year, please go. It was fantastic - I met Karrde, Dr S, Peter (legoloverman), Ralph (mad physicist), Tac and some other people besides. It's a shame I missed ZimzĆø, though.

Stuff I now know as a result of going:

- Ralph's diner is pearlescent grey

- You need a proper salary to buy bricks for the sort of stuff on display there

- I should never consider building a fully-green Lego army

- BrickArms aren't bad at all

- I need to buy a book with all the Lego sets in it

- I need to build more Classic Space

- Unless I have secret contacts within Lego, I can't build a large-scale MƦrsk container carriage with pearlescent grey

- I need more Lego. Well, I knew that anyway, but going there yesterday just fortified the need.

My haul:

- A hot rod specially designed mini-set

- A couple of BrickArms, including a baseball bat and a rifle-like thing (I'm not looking up names)

- Chaucilla Cemetery Battle

- £10 left to put into my funds for a large Lego Factory brick selection

It was great to meet you all there, and thanks for talking to me (etc) and (for the most part) remember who I was.

~John

This is one of the cards that I made as a example for the card making workshop I help to run. I was demonstrating making our own backgrounds. I love this big, bold flower stamp and I think it makes a brilliant background. I've stamped it all over the pearlescent cardstock, remembering to stamp some of the flowers 'off the edge' to give it an all over look.

I've stamped the flower again on a piece of cream card and added a 'happy birthday'. Then I've stamped the flower again, cut it out and added it. I've finished it off with a pink button.

The 'happy birthday' stamp is from Hero Arts set LL662 Small Greetings and the bold flower is by Stampin' Up.

This is a set of tea, painted on a blue/violet pearlescent ombre, with paintings of dragons and golden handlers.

The big teapot is completely functional and has a music box on its basement. Such a delicate set.

I have no information on how this was acquired.

Behold the third and final doll to enchant the BarbieĀ® Mythical Museā„¢ Series. Dragon Empressā„¢ BarbieĀ® doll is a bold, statuesque beauty with a dramatic wingspan. She wears a scale-detailed bodice in metallic mint-green and pink ombre. Beneath it is a glittered, scale-printed skirt with a slit that reveals her pearlescent, heroic heels. Her headpiece, in matching pastel ombre hues, crowns her cascading fantastical hair. A dragon-inspired cuff coils her arm, completing the look. Poised to take flight to a distant land, Dragon Empressā„¢ BarbieĀ® doll makes the perfect gift for collectors and fantasy lovers.

Hand sculpted from polymer clay and epoxy and painted with pearlescent acrylic paint. The hair is tibetan lambs wool.

She is 6 1/4 in tall and 10 in long.
