Block 11 from the Layer Cake Quilt Along.
Not hugely happy with this one. I have buggered up the seam allowances in the middle so the blocks have ended up different sizes; and I think my first choice of fabrics would have worked out better than the ones I swapped in because I thought there wasn't enough contrast. Never mind. Learning experience...

I have a bunch of projects that I'm working on and just feel kind of unsure about. So as I dug in my scraps for something else I decided do so a bit of improv. That always makes me happy!
My first patchwork and quilted project ever. Started out with precut samplers of Tilda fabrics. I used up all but 2 of the precut squares ending up with a small kiddie blanket of 7 x 12 squares.

For the last week of this QAL, we were asked to come up with our own two blocks. I decided to go with a "Home and Away" theme. This is my "Away" block. Our family vacation is always by the coast or the lake. Vacation is fun, sandcastles, daisy chains, rainbow slushies and a good book.
