I intend hand quilting this with a variegated thread which goes from red to pale pink. I wanted to go for an ecclectic mix of blocks with a traditional feel to them but, make them more modern, whilst still keeping a vintage look about it.
Playing with linen and cotton to make random sized chevrons. Details blogged:

These deer were actually the first pieces I stitched for my La Passacaglia quilt but I've been struggling with what to use for the middle 5 point diamonds and the connecting 10 point diamonds. I'm contemplating this grey text print - it's not quite as dark in real life but am still not sure and will try a few more colours before I decide. I think I want an underlying theme of grey to connect all the blocks. Still contemplating though. There's an awful lot of contemplating...I must have spent 20 hours staring at fabric in my holidays!
This is more Art Gallery fabric - the middle fabric is actually an abstract feather design and I'm pretty pleased with my fussy cutting on that - still not perfect but definitely getting better!
My son brought me my sewing machine and a lot of fabrics samples and scraps.

A patchwork quilt for my little sister... I'm halfway done quilting it and I'm hoping to have this and another one done before I leave on Monday. The "Don't Disturb" sign is up in my studio!
Five hours of quilting straight lines - DONE!
Very pleased with the thing so far. I used a variegated 100% cotton thread that went from dark red to pale pink, which I think is really effective on this particular quilt.
I was so excited to receive this stunning mini from Pattiann. Freshley Squeezed in tangy citrus colours. Absolutely love it. Pattiann has done a stunning job with this, looks even better in real life. Love the shadow quilting too.
