First attempt, inspired by comfortstitching's half hexagon quilt-a-long.....thank you, Aneela!
Sent to j_q_adams for an individual swap.
they blocks aren't stitched together yet--I'm using photoshop to play with the layout. need to move things around some more.
I just had to jump on the triple zip band wagon. :) I made the back and bottom front panels as separate pieces so I could box the bottom for more room. I'm using it as my hexie kit and it is working out perfectly.
Fabrics: I used a mix of fabrics from my stash & scrap bin, fabrics from the scrappy trip along swap (Round 4 starting in August - come join us!), and bits and pieces that were gifted to me. There are fabrics from Moda (hometown, vintage modern, mama said sew), Riley Blake (daisy cottage), Michael Miller (Madrona road), Free Spirit (Wrenly), multiple Denyse Schmidt prints, and the new organic cotton from Cloud 9 that Joann's carries. The rest I can't identify (I'd love to know who the dark brown with pink & white spots is by so I can purchase some - I only have a tiny piece left!).
Hey Partner! I created this mosaic with color and design in mind. Each of these photos speaks to me on one of those levels and just makes me happy! I just looked through everyone else's mosaics and love pretty much all of them. My kitchen is mostly aqua (love pic #1 for that reason) so for a main color that would be great. I spend a lot of my time in the kitchen so I love to have pretty things hanging out in there.
