O frio voltando, a chuvinha que não deixa de cair, um café quentinho, uma boa conversa....e uma ótima semana para todas nós!Bjsss
Megan's request for the July block of the month was for hearts of any sort. The only rule was to use calico fabric for the background and she encouraged us to use applique, emboridery, piecing or whatever we enjoyed.
This was an opportunity for me to try incorporating embroidery with my patchwork block. The hearts are hand stitched to the calico with decorative french knots surrounding two of the hearts.
It was lots of fun - thanks Megan for a wonderful theme - I cant wait to see your finished quilt.
Every once in awhile I make something that I know my grandma would be very proud of. This is one of those items...
This is for my partner in the Hanging Hoop Wall Pocket Swap. I went out on a limb and got a bit crazy with the patchwork, so hopefully this is something that will work for you!

These last few years I have been collecting vintage calendar towels for this quilt that I had in mind. Made it for my youngest son. There are 52 annual dates included which range from 1958 - 2016. Only 6 year dates are missing. And 2 dates are double which I hadn't realized whilst sewing but I still opted to include them. The back is from a modern bedding sheet and is perfect as my son loves travelling. Now I have tons of partially cut up towels left over. I am sure I'll find something to do with them.

I had forgotten how tedious half square triangles feel to me. They are a bit more exact than I'm very good at.
...lest you think I'm sitting around doing nothing :) [Added later: Used this to make the curved bag in the following photos.]
My second pillow. From Alicia Paulson's Summerhouse Pillow pattern. I can't thank you enough, Alicia! I'm now dreaming of little patchwork squares every night and imagining all kinds of things I could make with patchwork squares! (Pillow's finished size is 26" X 26" and each square is 2" X 2".)
A year ago, I made these patchwork pieces then transferred into a patchwork tote!
A year later, I taken the patchwork tote apart because the tote has been hanging in around and never been use because the size is so much bigger than I really need.
I plan to use all the installment pieces from this patchwork tote
something fun and carry around....
