Para a filhota ... uma encomenda ... faltavam na sala dela.

My seamstress is very thrifty. She saves all the little scraps of beautiful fabrics left over from client projects. So I had her make me up a couple of these amazing patchwork cushions. Beautiful wools, silk velvets and mohair. Add a nice down insert and voila, luxurious homey-ness. :) Plus it is a good record of the fun projects and lovely people I have met in the past while.

The seamstress thought the cushions were ugly. I quite like them. (the other one is in use in the rumpus room now)

Essa é a minha preferida!!!

each square is it's own little quilt and thus, is so satisfying to complete, not to mention addictive.

i (or rather, we - all of us) cannot wait to see the squares all come together. there are actually 6 now, going on 7, and this doesn't do them justice at all. they finish out at 13" x 13' so there will likely be 30 all together.

c thinks they should be made into a duvet cover for our bed except, if that's the case, I should be using a layer of fabric for the base rather than batting, to keep the overall weight down. we can, and do, use a down comforter year round here.

this will be backed, minimally quilted all the way through, and then tied. i don't really like tied quilts all that much but it'll be ok for this one. i think the finished quilt might go up on a big high wall, alongside a couple of graffitied pieces of flattened old metal roofing already up there.

then maybe the duvet cover.

This is for my partner in the Hanging Hoop Wall Pocket Swap. I went out on a limb and got a bit crazy with the patchwork, so hopefully this is something that will work for you!

Love a sailor ... modern interpretation of vintage design for April 2013 Bustle & Sew Magazine

I made this with yarn passed down to me from my oma.

Lots of practice lining up points! I decided to turn my patchwork into pretty baby quilts!

Every once in awhile I make something that I know my grandma would be very proud of. This is one of those items...

I had forgotten how tedious half square triangles feel to me. They are a bit more exact than I'm very good at.

a zippered pouch for my daughter. It is 12 inches, square, with a leather strap.

... And now for something completely different.

My mum belongs to some quilting groups, and one of them put on an exhibition of work in October. They had arranged for someone to come along and take photos, but weren't happy with her shots; thus Mum hauled me along there on the second day to try to get some better ones. The light was really bad, so I struggled.

There was some amazing work on display - I have so many shots. It really is art with fabric as the main medium. I love to sew myself, but find making a quilt such a huge undertaking. I have made the sum total of ONE quilt thus far - those women have way more patience than me! I shall upload some more shots another day.

Just getting some of the blocks done for my mystery quilt 2015

I've made this to brighten up my living-room, now that autumn is near.

I am actually making a pair, but one is still on my sewing-table.

throw quilt using Anna Maria Horner loulouthi and Lizzy House. A gift and I'm sad I can't look at it every day. Anna Maria Horner can do no wrong as far as I'm concerned.

A year ago, I made these patchwork pieces then transferred into a patchwork tote!

A year later, I taken the patchwork tote apart because the tote has been hanging in around and never been use because the size is so much bigger than I really need.

I plan to use all the installment pieces from this patchwork tote

something fun and carry around....

to be continue ...

First time I have ever made a 'fancy' back on a quilt. I used the cut-out bits from the background on the front, mixed them up, sewed the quarters together and needle turn appliqued them to white fabric (roughly behind the trees on the front to make the hand quilting easier).

just finished this quilt for my niece's fourth birthday. i primarily followed jolene's tutorial from her blog, blue elephant stitches: blueelephantstitches.blogspot.ca/2012/01/granny-square-qu...
