A scene at Hillmorton, Rugby. On the mainline (nearest the camera) 350267 is at the rear of a brace of Desiros working as 1U34 14:33 Crewe-London Euston.
Behind, on the Northampton loop, 350375 sporting gay stripes with 9K64 14:24 London Euston-Rugeley Trent Valley. I had no luck with the passing freights, although typically they were in the sun...... I was back-bowled for the London Gateway-Hams Hall, which passed in some glorious light as the sun disappeared literally 3 seconds later. Not a happy bunny..........

Inspired by this wonderful picture by Don Gatehouse, I always wanted to record a class ABDe 8/8 railcar passing the Planchamp crossing. It took me several years to finally come across a single «4000» series railcar working some local services above Montreux. Unfortunately, time has been running fast since the above mentioned picture from 2013: The wonderful old bulding to the left has been refurbished and lost the beautiful old stone walls while ABDe 8/8 4003 «Bern» is already set to be withdrawn. Although this picture cannot keep up with Don's original, the old wooden shed, the well and the vintage street lamp to the left add up to a nice little scenery together with the railcar. The blooming bush gives a first impression of spring while the vaudoise alps in the background are still covered in snow.

SSC - Reflections on Water
The River Colne flows through Halstead, my home town, a lot of the time little more than a trickle. Over the last few years it became very overgrown with trees and shrubs really clogging it up, but, in the last year it has been cleaned up, to a degree, with a natural looking flow through (this section has been built up at the sides and when completely clear looks more like a canal). My original plan was to photograph some gnarled roots entering the water, as I was walking away I spotted this scene and took a speculative shot, after converting it to B&W decided it was a better image.

This is a 2 minute exposure that helps visualize the passing storm clouds. Post-processing in LR CC, PS CC, Topaz Clarity, Topaz Adjust.
Looking west-northwest on a flight from Leh, Ladakh, to Delhi. The pyramidal peak in the middle distance at left is Hanuman Tibba (5,982 m, 19,636 ft.). The town of Manali (2,050 m, 6,726 ft.) in Himachal Pradesh lies in the Kullu Valley between the peaks in the foreground and Hanuman Tibba. The Brammah Massif in the Kishtwar Himalaya and Kishtwar National Park in Jammu and Kashmir, is seen on the horizon at top right. The prominent peak is Brammah I (6,416 m, 21,050 ft.).
We were sitting at Civic Park drinking a morning cup of coffee as passerbys walked their dogs greeting us a good morning. Downtown New Mexico isn't usually hopping until about ten in the morning, so many take the opportunity to take their morning walks
Another shot from the series taken on 5th July 1976, again at Attenborough station, where you can see the then wooden waiting shelter on the up platform, complete with fire buckets!
It's hard to make out from this angle but I'm inclined to think the lady may be in possession of a Moulton bicycle - quite innovative and fashionable in the day, and spawning a number of similar variants all intended to make cycling a more convenient pastime, especially when combined with a commute using other forms of transport.
Typical freight action is seen in the form of a pair of class 20s approaching with a coal train, albeit unusually short, which is probably headed for Toton Yard. The locos are 20151 (which I believe was still in green livery) and 20160.
Although it was cloudy the shot was taken into the prevailing light so needed a bit of work to lift the detail. There are two or three more shots to come from this set which will be uploaded over the next few weeks.

How lovely it must be to live beside water especially and on a warm Summers day as it creates a coolness in the air and a gentle soothing sound as it passes by along on it's journey.

When we are doing nothing in particular, it is then that we are living through all our being. Will is suspended, but nature and time are always active; and if our life is no longer our work, the work goes on nonetheless. With us, without us, or in spite of us, our existence travels through its appointed phases.
