Passing Breeze
Yes, I know, this is nothing but thy love,
O beloved of my heart---
this golden light that dances upon the leaves,
these idle clouds sailing across the sky,
this passing breeze leaving its coolness upon my forehead.
The morning light has flooded my eyes---
this is thy message to my heart.
Thy face is bent from above,
thy eyes look down on my eyes,
and my heart has touched thy feet.

GST Voles Day at Ampthill Park 6/12/2016
Hi All (Please forward to Voles John)
December 6th dawned misty but mild and arriving at Ampthill park (late again) I wandered aimlessly by the 4 Sisters, wraith like in their shrouds and passed by
Westminster Pond and back through the Beech Grove before skirting the "Rezzie" and some frozen ducks. Up again passing the Leg of Mutton pool and eventually
heard the bee straining tones of a multitude of strimmers and the plume of smoke rising into a leaden sky that pressed on the very sods in the park. Creeping slowly
up on the encampment I was surprised by the ever vigilant Stavros as I tried a sneak shot through the razor wire at the forced labourers slaving away near the Breed
hell fires. Luckily there was still plenty of slashing and burning left to help with so surrendering my soul to those same hellfires quickly became coated in descending
ash and charred leaf embers.
After that it all became quite civilised with the usual banter and chat. Although I had missed elevenses there was still an ample supply of Malcolm's edible & creative
sweetmeats, my choice being some rather wonderful Eccles Cake like puffy mince pies, leaving the BP for our glorious leader and sidekick Deano who was
experiencing a little initiation insult from all & sundry Voles.
After nearly all the cakes had gone John F asked if we would like some of his donuts he had been hiding away in the "Groucho" wagon and I was nearly trampled in
the rush to grab these extra treats. Shortly after this Lord Sedgelely of Greenfield appeared out of the mist like The Sheriff of Nottingham, ready to collect his
dues/tithes for the upcoming festive season banquet and of course any cake that was going.
As the day got dimmer and dimmer it was time to load the "Groucho" with Yule Tide logs for the peasant of Wixams & Clophill and count up the tools etc. Were we
short of a bow saw again or was it last weeks one still missing. I gave up the will to follow that one and slowly tramped back to my lowly hovel in the land of Todd.
Cheers
Villein of the Parish of Todd.

It started to drizzle as I was taking photos in Chinatown. As I walked along the five foot way I saw this lady on the other side of the street, umbrella in hand to protect herself from the rain.

Great piece by Anton Parsons - Passing Time, 2010 for Scape. Somehow I recall having seen it but often seem to pass at night and its kind of behind you when you do. Now you look different at the city.

A passing bridge is a means of letting the towing barge-horse change sides of the canal without the need to unhitch the harness and towrope. (When functioning there was no vegetation.)
Here's the turn to pass under the bridge and continue on the lefthand side of the canal.
