A late Summer day in 2019 finds the then daily RUPO trundling down the Rumford Branch at North Leeds, ME. The train is passing the DeCoster feed mill where counterpart PORU stops to "feed the chickens" once or twice a week. Former N&W high hood GP40 #380 was the only one left of its kind still operating on Pan Am at the time and was scrapped in late 2020.

The Driver on ROG 37884 opens up departing Barassie yard with the Scotrail 318 EMU after run round here, working from Kilmarnock Bonnyton depot to Yorker. You can see the trailing points off the single line from Klmarnock to here then the facing points of the realinged track towards Troon which the Loco is just passing over. Passenger services from Kilmarnock to Ayr can no longer stop here due to the platform on the branch being taken out of use.. The main line from Glasgow to Ayr to the right of the picture.

With interchange traffic from CN at Kirk Yard, PF-10 has pulled to a stop just east Ogden Dunes to let this South Bend train pass by before continuing to Michigan City.

Sick in bed, Kitty passes the time with a new coloring book and some freshly-sharpened colored pencils.

This Middie Blythe is Yellow Marshmallow. Her coloring book of Blythe dolls was in the goody bag I got at BlytheCon NY in 2013. For the theme "coloring book" in the Blythe a Day group.

Rainy weather is very common in the mountainous Lake District of Cumbria, England - and it has a beauty of its own.

The original painting is of a rainy scene, but then I thought it would be fun to see if I could make the sun come out in the foreground. All I succeeded in doing was brightening things up; I don't think it looks exactly sunny where the viewer is standing, even with the sky showing some blue.. I'll have to keep working on this!

This scene is based on a scene from Google Earth that I hand-painted.

Tightly focused but embracing a little motion blur in this close-up candid street portrait. Despite the imperfection, I simply loved her expression and the flow of the image so I processed in higher contrast with some added grain to balance the softness.

A whole bunch of red and black locos, but only one CN unit in the bunch. The e lead switchers are DMIR 211 and 212, while the Utac pellets are led by BLE 903 with CN 6013 and DMIR 408 rounding out the consist. It's a real nice September morning, cool enough to let the hot pellets give off a wisp of steam.

The only buffalo I saw all morning, and it gets PHOTOBOMBED by a female whitetail deer zooming in to steal the spotlight.

Ha ha! Oh well, happy to meet her as well...

Days pass us by. The autumn is going to finish very soon. But the mood of these days attracts me.

Thank you for the comments and faves, my friends.

The road across Rocky Mountain National Park - Trail Ridge Road - had just opened for the season 2 days prior to my going up. Going up later in the afternoon provided an interesting mix of passing thunderstorms, dramatic lighting, and snow covered mountains.
