After attending a funeral service at Sunderland crematorium I was walking back to the car. The eerie misty conditions meant I abandoned my initial plan of heading to the coast and opted for some autumnal graveyard shots.
The subject was shouting out for a figure and as nobody was around I went for the "selfie" option. Its nerve wracking leaving you camera gear behind whilst walking away not looking. Thankfully no "scallies" were around to steal my gear.
It was the first time i'd been down the beach for a few days, and it was great just to take in the sun , and hear the sights and sounds. The choughs and peregrines were nesting, and the house martins are back. This shot is for Angharad, a wonderful Flickr friend who was a passing stranger. She cycled from Cardiff to Tenby yesterday, 111 miles, and passed quite close to the beach. She's a star. Passing stranger is by Scott Matthews.

Bridget Riley is one of my favorite artists. Often her mesmerizing patterns baffle the eye. This young lady had a good look too and touched her necklace. I wonder why.

CS5 can't parse 7D2 RAW files so used DPP4, straight to PS, slight rebalance with a quick excursion to Topaz De Noise as shot was in grey/low light. Its sharpen routines don't harden edges as does the Adobe code.

Have a great week everyone :-)
So after day of taking photos and a nice meal with a bottle of wine I find myself out in the car park in the dark getting ready to walk back to my caravan ... but not ready to call it a night. .
.
So ... what to do?? .
.
Photograph some light trails of course!!
From my garden hide, I recorded this passing parade of birds in just two minutes. In order of appearance they are:
1. Willie Wagtail
2. Male Satin Bower bird, very briefly
3. Male Kookaburra
4. Male Satin Bower bird, sees off Kookaburra
5. Female Satin Bower bird, sees off male
6. A second female Satin Bower bird
7. Male Satin Bower bird returns
8. Two female Satin Bower birds
9. Willie Wagtail
There were very few bird sound on the soundtrack, but there was loud noise from an external source, so I replaced it with what I hope is non-intrusive music.
