this was definitely my favorite photo from my trip to new york. I was thrilled when he agreed to let me take a couple shots. He was literally pulling away from the station when I asked him. He said "sure, why not!", as I rattled two shots off and then pulled the camera away from my face to thank him... that's when he gave me this amazing smile and I snapped one more off w/o looking.... that was this shot. so glad I asked!

This 2012 DAF CF was seen while partaking in an MOT test at Flit Self Drive's Argyll Testing Station. The plain coloured cab leaves no clues as to who owns this rusting hook loader lorry, but it must belong to a local haulier based in the Oban area. Whoever does operate it has only done so since the spring of 2023, if the V5C logbook's issue date is anything to go by, and interestingly despite receiving a fresh MOT test, the vehicle is marked as SORN (Statutory Off Road Notification).

This little guy was manning a homemade wooden toll bridge. His family built a rickety little bridge, just wide enough for one motorcycle to pass, to generate a little income. For a modest fee of 500 riel (12 cents), I crossed unscathed, saving 10 minutes going downstream to look for a free crossing.
When he saw the camera around my neck, he was pretty insistent that I take his picture.

This 2014 DAF XF was seen in a yard in the Shropshire town of Shifnal, near Telford, England. This yard was an interesting one as it appeared to be an exporter's premises, with older and export-ready trucks lined up into trees at the rear of the property. However, it was not possible to photograph these, but fortunately the gates to the yard were open allowing the capture of this DAF. The vehicle was new to Salford Van Hire and later found itself with EFS Global, before March 2025 when its V5C logbook changed and a fresh MOT was received - suggesting it may have fallen into the hands of a new operator and is safe from export/retirement for a few years yet.

"A Break?: Although his fellow Marines are taking a break, a Marine radio operator must remain constantly on the job to insure all incoming messages are received. He is one of many Marines participating in Operation Pipestone Canyon, a multi-battalion allied operation 14 miles south of Da Nang, Vietnam. The operation is clearing the area of enemy troops so that Route 4 from Dai Loc eastward to Dien Ban may be reopened (official USMC photo by Gunnery Sergeant Chuck Lane)."
