After the storm passed through, and I got back to Cloverdale, CA., I noticed the 60X was due into town at any moment, so I headed to Cloverdale Plaza. To my surprise I found Sonoma County Transit Bus 211, a 2010 Orion VII-CNG, which I caught earlier today at the Santa Rosa Transit Mall and then again in Windsor, CA., sitting here on the layover.

Shorly after my arrival, the 60X with a 2014 Eldorado National Axess BRT-CNG came into town and had a very friendly driver!

This is the very first slide I ever took. 1968. My gran had come back from holiday and needed her film finished. I think there were about 6 exposures left! It was a 126 Kodak camera and what you saw through the viewfinder wasn't what you got on film! Everybody in the family thought I was daft, so no change there! We were on a day trip to Largs and I pleaded to stop the car when passing through Fairlie. This was just a coach to me , but what a rare vehicle I had picked without knowing it. There were only 10 of these Albion Viking VK43L / Park Royal Royalist C41F ever built and most went to the Red House Group in the Midlands. This was the only one supplied new to a Scottish operator, delivered in 12/67

It was not until I studied this picture that I realized what a complex structure that crane was and what a responsibility the operator has! One false move and he could cost thousands, if not millions!!

United Counties seem to be poorly represented in model form despite operating many types of vehicle that already exist in the EFE range, so this kit-built example was a welcome acquisition. It is a very old Pirate kit of the Series 2 Bristol VR, representing Bedford-based 768 (WRP 768J) in my favourite post-privatisation stripy livery. I believe the real 768 may have actually been a flat-fronted VR, and it had no other operator, being sold for scrap in 1988, but its sister 767 survives in preservation.

No name written on the back. Printed in Dallas TX. Dated by printer January 1959. I keep looking at the stove in the next room, and it is a reminder of how dedicated these phone operators were during that time. The clock reminds me of a clock we had back in that era. I do wish I could make out the calendar to see how soon after the photo was taken that the film was sent off to develop.

I sure wish I had that stove, though.

This mule operator told us he has been running his electric locamotive for 28 years.

Littles Travel of Ilkeston ADL Enviro 200 SN65 OFB is pictured in Ilkeston on route 14A to Sandiacre, a route previously operated by CT4N. This bus was new to Littles and it's always nice to see an independent operator with a proper livery other than allover white.

We had experienced old-timers like myself, but also a lot of young talent who sadly lost a great opportunity when the mill closed.

A few new ones from the final days of the steel mill where I worked for 22 years. These were from the final days of operation before we were closed.

Stagecoach Cumberland Optare Solo M880 low floor bus rolls down New Road in Whitehaven with a 29 Workington to Whitehaven service. This vehicle was new to this operator in July 2008.

Sanders Wright bodied DAF SB120 type number 216 - HE51 BUS, which I believe started life as YJ51 ELO when new in September 2001 to North Yorkshire operator Stephensons of Easingwold, is seen at the bus stop in Holt Market Place while working the above journey on service 5.

The town of Holt puts on a spectacular lighting display with the buildings adorned with white lights of differing shades, although I much prefer the Cromer display which features the warmer and more traditional colours of red, gold, green etc.

Finally, may I take this opportunity to send Best Wishes for Christmas and the New Year to all my Flickr contacts.

Unsure of the company.

I have no idea who was operating Scania K124 Irizar Century 00-KK-3048 in a soggy Dublin on 26th July 2013. It had most recently been with Billy O'Brien, Ballycogley, but I think it had moved on.
