We've been taking Bob for a walk in this charming area surrounding the village for the past week. It's got lots of little vineyards and olive groves. We've been looking for places to wander with Bob where there are no other dogs as she is still in season and we have one particular dog who quite literally is laying siege to our home. It's very upsetting for Bob as it comes right up to the windows and glass doors. It looks like a moth eaten old English Sheepdog which has definitely seen better days - it's rather ugly in fact. We don't know where the owner lives but it must be nearby. Plus, it's peeing on everything around the house. What a bloody nuisance it is.

Inside this olive orchard is situated the Museum of Theophilos, the famous Greek painter. The trees are of a great age and predate the construction of the museum (1964). The olive orchard has not been altered in order to preserve the natural environment around the museum.
The power of life.
This is quite the old olive tree. I would guess a minimum age of 1500 years old. It is in a place you can only get to by walking a few hours or by boat. The stone you see the olive tree hugging belongs to an ancient town here. There was a town that traded and has an asclepio, which is a temple for healing physical and spiritual. This place is one of my most favorite places in Crete, and it is off the beaten track.
Greetings my friends. Wishing you a happy Saturday. Have fun and take care. Hope all is well with you.
Here is my little garden.
The Chapel of St Martin dates back to 1174. It's not in use now and I believe it may be in private hands. We often walk past it on our walks with Bob. To the left of where I stood to take the picture is a large vineyard and at its edges are many olive trees, some of which you can see
It was very cool for May in Tuscany so we were able to make a circular hike around San Gimignano. We had a magnificent view on the city which is called "the Manhattan of Tuscany" because of its medieval, high towers !
I really enjoyed ambling through these olive grove in Corfu with their ancient trees. The trees, with they dark trunks, contrasted well with the grasses. It was quite a challenge to find a composition which would work, trying not to superimpose one tree trunk with another whilst still having somewhere for the eye to wander through! In this respect I think this is one of my favourite images.

I tried to capture a part of the summer sky in the night.
At the center you can see Altair (in the Aquila constellation).
It is also (barely) visible a part of the Milky Way.
Finally, on the left, there is the "Old man olive tree", that is present in several of my images! ;-)
Even if I'm not an astrophotographer, I hope that you will like the result.
Stay safe and healthy, and have a nice and happy Crazy Tuesday,
dear friends! ;-)
