Some evening shot under the tuscan sun. The sun through an olive grove. Warm air surrounds you with the chirring of millions of crickets. Italian mood at it´s finest :)

Monemvasia is a uniquely preserved medieval town that is carved into the majestic grey rock like a sculpture. By land, there is only one way in, via a causeway, as the origin of its name (one entrance) implies. The “Gibraltar of the East” or a “stone ship” about to set sail, as the famous Greek poet Yannis Ritsos described his birthplace, beckons you for a journey through time, wandering through vaulted alleyways and past churches and aristocratic mansions.
Take a swim in its crystal-clear waters and sample its delicious cuisine and legendary wine. Following in the footsteps of knights, pirates, crusaders and emperors, who all fell under the spell of this mythical place in the Peloponnese, time will stand still and you’ll become one with history.
Greetings my friends. I hope you are having a happy Sunday. Wishing you a happy week ahead. I hope life is being kind to you.
Take care and have fun

La vie ne peut exister sans la lumière, mais les sentiments, les émotions, les désirs et la contemplation se nourrissent aussi de ses contours, ses reliefs, ses inflections, ses jeux.....
Bonne journée !
Nice Sunday to everybody

This is the part of the garden we look down at from the terrace where we're increasingly spending more and more time as the weather warms up. As it's so spectacularly colourful at the moment I thought I'd share it with you and I thought it might be helpful to give context to some recent macro photos I've taken recently and of course the one of Bob surrounded by daisies (taken top right).
The olive tree is smack bang in the middle of it all and I've promised I'll be seriously pruning it over the next few days as it's way too 'top heavy' now. The decaying willow tree is to the left with the very sad looking swing hanging there ominously. Someone is meant to take that down but ALWAYS forgets... The branch you see hanging dramatically over the hedge was brought down by very strong winds last week. That too needs removing.
In the foreground you can see patches of the garden which are brown soil. These gaps in the cover of wild flowers/weeds were caused during the winter by wild boar entering the garden from the river and digging it up with their snouts in the search for worms and the like. What a mess they made.
You can see the gap through the hedging - that takes you to two terraced gardens which are for the most part left wild although the first bit is used for growing vegetables. If you look carefully you can see a large green composting bin. The river runs at the bottom of the two terraced gardens.
It's all very peaceful and secluded and I feel so fortunate and lucky to live here.
** I saw this Olive tree on the banks of the Gardon River near Pont du Gard. I thought it looked rather sculptural on the bleached limestone ground .
THANKS FOR YOUR VISIT TO MY STREAM.
I WOULD BE VERY GRATEFUL IF YOU COULD NOT FAVE A PHOTO
WITHOUT ALSO LEAVING A COMMENT .
This is an olive grove in the nearby village of Sillans-la-Cascade. The church sits on the edge of the grove.

The Iberian (Azure-winged) Magpie (Cyanopica cooki) Pega-azul is one of the conundrums of the Birdwatching World. There is a large population of this species on the east Asian seaboard and a smaller population here in Iberia with no individuals anywhere in between. This is explained currently as a larger population having been separated by the Pleistocene ice sheet as the two extant populations seem to have split apart over 1 million years ago. The Iberian population is definitely natural and not the introduction in the 17th century of individuals brought back from the east.
Sexes are similar and with a black head, grey-brown back and blue wings with a long blue tail, this species is unmistakeable. It is resident throughout the southern half of Portugal but absent from the majority of the north. [...]. Google

Small owl of fairly open country, such as farmland with hedges and scattered trees, orchards, open woodland, and quarries. Distinctive, with white-spotted upperparts. Staring yellow eyes and white brows, together with frequently upright stance, often create alert appearance. Nests in cavities in trees and rocks. Sometimes active by day, perching quietly on posts or rocks, but mainly active at night.
