Today I decided to post a more creepy picture for Halloween.

It tooks me a while to make the whole make up. Thanks to my wife... ;-)

I used the Porty with a 90cm octabox (gridded) above her head. Under her chin, she held a silver reflector. Triggered via YN622C.

A Girl And Some Tunes: The Girl With The Magic Lantern

How To Destroy Angels "The Space in Between":

www.youtube.com/watch?v=nWbfgGDl6XE

A young woman found an old lantern in her deceased grand mother's attic. During her childhood she often told her this lantern was magic, and forbid her to touch it because she claimed it was dangerous.

Now she had received it as an inheritance, she decides ta take a walk at night in the woods with the lantern. "Maybe a genie of the lamp will appear" she thinks as she enters the woods.

She hears some strange noises coming from a small river that runs near the edge of the woods. She approaches the riverside to take a look at it.

She sees nothing, the night has become too dark. She decides to enter the woods, even if it will be darker there, there will be no more risk of falling into the water.

After walking during a while into the woods, she finds a rock where she can sit. But as soon as she is sitting down, the noises are coming back. She looks carefully but she can't find any direction where it might come from.

She kneels down on the ground. She's disoriented, she doesn't know where to look, so she looks up and starts staring at the moon.

But soon she feels spied on and she stands up. A little rattle and hum comes from somewhere in those woods and she wants to find it.

After a while she finds herself nearly at the edge of the woods, the noise seems to come from somewhere there.

She arrives in front of an old abandoned house, but now everything is so quiet, she can't hear any noise.

The moon is high and except for it and her lantern, the darkness prevails. Will she stay here lost in the cold of the deep night? Let your imagination decides ;)

Now you just have to wait for another chapter ( i hope it will be soon! ).

I think I'll have to set a new years resolution to shoot more. I've not been photographically productive in 2016 at all.

Here's a revisit from my shoot with Neva. Been practicing and trying to develop my post processing with this one.

Enjoy!

If you like my work, please take a look at my Facebook page and my website and if you're more inclinde to Instagram, I've been playing around there too.

it's rare indeed when my girls come to me and say, "Hey mom...wanna do a session of me today?" I always jump at the chance! She was so fun today.

(eyes got a little sharp on flickr)

With wedding season wrapped up and with the colder temperatures here in New York, I have decided to take to the indoor studio space that I have available and begin to learn how to use the modifiers that I've collected over the last year.

Here I used the Einstein E640 attached to the 47" Paul C Buff Octabox with Grid placed camera left very close to model.

Pocket Wizards for triggers (Power MC2, Mini TT1, AC3 Zone Controller).

Another portrait of the lovely Kristina. This was Kristina's first outfit and I like the lighting we used here a lot. We had a large octa camera left as the main light. A very large silver reflector for fill on the right, close to Kristina and then a second studio strobe in a 1x3 stripbox with a grid behind the model as a hair/rim light - adds a nice bit of separation too. Of course Kristina has a great look here so that tops it off nicely.

I rarely post self-portraits (because I hardly ever make them...), but this one was shot by my daughter. I demonstrated the pose I wanted and she insisted on shooting me. OK then. I had to indulge her and post it. Shot with the fabulous Sony 24-70 Zeiss F/2.8 lens, generously provided to me by Sony to play with. I used a single permanent light octabox and a led lamp behind my head.

Now that I'm looking at you it's a good time to tell you that I really appreciate the attention for my photo's and I do enjoy viewing yours. It's helpful, educational and a lot of fun. Thanks!
