The objective of this exhibition was to present 50 published numbers of a prominent arhictectural magazine in Croatia – Oris, at the event celebrating its 10 years of existance. The event-exhibition took place in a circular ˝Croatian Academy of Sciences and Arts˝ building in Zagreb (Croatia) and it lasted one week.

50 magazine covers, printed using citylight technique on a clear foil and hung beneath a honeycomb-like glass dome and lit by natural light, made a spatial installation which - with light and transparent covers of ˝flying Oris˝, created a special visual experience. 50 of the actual published numbers of Oris were exhibited on the circular wall placed in plexiglass panels. Also, 7 different LCD screens with Nintendo controlers were part of the exhibition allowing the visitor to view an animated presentation of the magazine, as well as published books, symposioums and events organized by Oris.

Studio's art director Ante Rašić is one of the founders of the magazine and a member of the editorial board. From 1998-2008, alongside Oris, designers from Studio Rašić designed all accompanying publications for Arhitekst, for promotions and events such as: Days of Oris, exhibition Oris Idea, as well as capital projects such as the book Contemporary Croatian Architecture.

Another of popular request for Anxiety has been the need for some kind of way of sorting by task priority. This shot shows the new priority interface. Pretty simple; your top-priority tasks appear at the top of the list, and little indicators are displayed beside them (here, the top item has a "High" priority, the second has a "Medium" priority, the third has a "Low" priority, and subsequent items have no priority assigned to them).

This functionality will become available in the next update of Anxiety, which you can check for using the Check For Updates menu item under the application menu. Otherwise, Anxiety will automatically check for updates upon launching.

One of the main objectives of the European Union is to promote economic, social and territorial cohesion between regions. The reformed EU Cohesion Policy 2014-2020 comes at a pivotal moment. Recent years of austerity have seen rising unemployment and widening inequality, especially in peripheral regions, with youth, women and ethnic minorities worst affected.

Making over €350 billion available to invest in Europe's regions, cities and the real economy, the reformed Cohesion Policy is the EU's principal investment tool to deliver the Europe 2020 goals: creating growth and jobs, tackling climate change and energy dependence, reducing poverty and social exclusion. Once member states’ national contributions and the leverage effect of financial instruments are taken into account, the impact is likely to be over €500 billion.

Launching a new partnership with the European Commission, with the participation of the OECD, Salzburg Global’s program is timed to help key stakeholders understand the rules and results-oriented focus of the reformed Cohesion Policy and ensure maximum impact for these investments. It will build on our longstanding European program which has featured over 15 sessions devoted to the EU’s development and expansion, grounded in our location at the crossroads of East and West.

The 2014 program will focus on ways in which regional development policy and complementary instruments can enhance competitiveness and effective governance at local, regional and transboundary levels.

Participants will examine tools for environmentally sustainable innovation, human capital development, creation and financing of SMEs and the transition to a low carbon economy. They will compare practical projects and mechanisms that have delivered successful outcomes for competitiveness and inclusive growth, in and beyond Europe, in order to identify transferable tools and connect stakeholders who are leading cutting-edge work around the world.

The program will be held from May 17 to May 22, 2014 in Salzburg, Austria, with a one day, high-level pre-session meeting on May 17-18, focusing on European competitiveness, the shift to low carbon economies, and the role of sustainable cities.

Objective 2: Creative Exposure

The camera mode (P, Tv, Av, M) and why I chose it: Av mode because I wanted control of the aperture

f stop used and why: 7.1 because I wanted the focus mainly on the team and less on the surrounding area.

shutter speed used and why: 1/40s because I wanted it to be fast enough to capture the image without blur.

ISO used and why: 800 because I wanted to eliminate camera shake without sacrificing a lot of quality.

Focal length and why: 55.0mm because the team was far away and I didn’t want a huge empty space with the team in the very background.

Objective 3: Elements and Principles of Design

The principles of design demonstrated (describe the use):

•The emphasis is on the standing players in this photo. Emphasis is used to draw attention to a specific part of a photo.

•Contrast is created with the dark shirts against the lighter background and the bright coloured numbers.

• Unity is created with all the aspects in the photo being tied to volleyball.

Objective 5: Post Production

Resizing

Contrast

Sharpening

Both contrast and sharpening was done minimally to keep the photo as close to the original scene as possible.

Objective 6: Critique

Areas in this photo that could be improved, is gaining stronger elements. Balance could have been created if there had been something in the foreground instead of just empty space. This photo was taken in a gym so the lighting was not great and it could not be controlled. This is an unavoidable weakness of this photo.

Objective 7: Photographic Styles (ex. portrait, landscape, etc.) – Explain why the settings and composition are appropriate for the style of photography

Type/style of photography: Photojournalism

The camera mode (P, Tv, Av, M): Av

f stop used: 7.1

shutter speed used: 1/40s

ISO used: 800

Focal length: 55.0mm

The settings are appropriate for this style of photography because I changed my settings based on my surroundings. Photojournalism is not set up, you have to adjust what you are doing to match where you are and what you are photographing.

Assignment on the difference between objective and subjective photos.

For this I used an accented edges filter. +I think this filter works nicely with the photo itself. -It dies make the bottom background more blurry, but that might work to enhance the subject also. 20/20
