This spot was an absolute bugger to get to and having finally accomplished it sat here for some 5 hours before moving to Greenholme for the evening. This was the last main objective here despite being slightly backlit and fortunately it didn't coincide with a cloud. I would have preferred a Grid on this but heyho.
Actually taken on the way back. Easter Wick and its sandy beach in sight. Beyond that the lighthouse -- went there too. Fethaland, Northmavine, Shetland.
Picture taken on a day out with the objective of doing some seascapes long exposures... But the sea was too angry. There is no picture that deserves my life.
While leaving this beautiful place, I looked backward one more time, hopping that the conditions were better...
"What a surprise... It seems that I won't go away with my pic"... I though.
Drive some of the back local roads looking for raptors. Thought it may be dark enough for a Great Horned Owl to be out.

Doesn't this belong in Hilla Rebay's curation of the Guggenheim? Specifically, it reminds me a lot of Franz Marc (Stables) & Robert Delauney (Windows Open Simultaneously). Visible now from the Pest riverfront, but maybe not after current construction is finished.
My objective for our upcoming trip is to observe and photograph the elk rut...for the umpteenth time. It never gets old and never disappoints.

Or not the way to travel. Sometimes you are in the perfect place to get THAT PHOTO. I saw this throng of tourists in the main piazza on Strada Italia in Sorrento and my first objective was to get down the harbour stairs before them. However on getting to the bottom I realised I had a great photo opportunity to catch a humorous situation.

He estado en Cadaqués en numerosas ocasiones pero no había realizado fotos de noche, por lo que planifiqué unas pequeñas vacaciones para poder hacerlas.
Todo era perfecto con poca gente para poder realizar buenas tomas, espero que os guste amigos, un saludo.

I have been to Cadaqués on numerous occasions but I had not taken photos at night, so I planned a short vacation to be able to take them.
Everything was perfect with few people to be able to take good shots,

Adrienne fixed her gaze on K’hall, her voice steady but laced with urgency. “Our mission is to locate and destroy the reptilian nest. If Kayla’s double is operating with the same objective, she’ll be drawn to it. Help us find the nest, and we may find her.”
K’hall said nothing. He paced slowly, his expression unreadable.
Kayla turned facing K’hall, “The reptiles only breed one time then die off. Once their eggs are destroyed, their forces will collapse. No more breeding, no more reinforcements. And with that, the threat of them breaching the veil will be gone—for good.”
K’hall halted mid-step. “Bext,” he called, his voice low but commanding.
A tall figure emerged from the bright light of the bridge. Her frost-white hair shimmered under the overhead lights, and her blue eyes sharp. She moved with quiet precision, her presence commanding without a word.
“What intelligence do we have on the lizards’ breeding grounds?” K’hall asked.
Bext moved to the nearest console, fingers gliding across the interface. The screen flickered to life, casting a pale glow across her face. After a moment, she turned back to him. “Nothing. No records. No patterns. Their breeding sites are not in our data base.”
K’hall’s gaze shifted to Adrienne, then to Kayla. “Our data on the lizards is extensive—but it’s all tactical. Military deployments. Human infiltration and enslavement. Their reproductive infrastructure is a blind spot.”
Kayla stood stepping to the console. “I have coordinates of the nest location from my time. The Earth has changed—tectonic drift, submerged regions—but they might still point us in the right direction.”
She recited the coordinates, each number a location long lost. Bext entered them into the system, the screen flickering as it processed the data.
K’hall nodded. “Bext, cross-reference those coordinates with all known subterranean structures. Instruct every ship in the fleet to initiate deep scans of underground sectors. If there’s a nest buried beneath the surface, I want it found.”
Bext gave a crisp nod and turned back to the console, her fingers already summoning the fleet-wide command.
The room fell into a tense silence, broken only by the soft hum of scanners coming online.
K’hall ran his hand through his hair. “And now we wait for the scans and listen for your double to activate her device.”

Branch and his brothers burst through the blast doors of the separatist facility, charging into a flood of every unit in the separatist war machine and more. The seppies wanted a fight, and his blood was boiling for one. against the insurmountable odds, certain doom. The brothers charged into certain doom, or what would have been for normal men, but they weren't men, they were clones, arc troopers, and most importantly, brothers. "For the republic!" charging in, the clones shot, blasted and slashed at anything between them and victory for the republic.
Les canadiens à la crête de Vimy
Le matin du 9 avril 1917, plus de 100 000 canadiens et leurs alliés se préparent à attaquer la crête de Vimy. Leur objectif était de capturer un bastion allemend et de contrôler le terrain surérélevé surplombant la plaine de Douai.

On the morning of April 9, 1917, more than 100,000 Canadians and their allies prepared to attack Vimy Ridge. Their objective was to capture a German stronghold and control the elevated terrain overlooking the Douai plain.
To meet this difficult challenge, the four divisions of the Canadian Corps fought together for the very first time.
Their success was a defining moment in Canada’s experience during the First World War.
After four days of bloody fighting, Canadians took control of Vimy Ridge with more than 10,600 killed and injured.
Over time, the battle has also become an important cultural and historical turning point in Canada.

No he tenido mucho tiempo de procesar las fotos de las últimas sesiones, las del paso migratorio prenupcial. Ya comenté que los correlimos zarapitines ( Calidris ferruginea) en plumaje de cría era uno de los objetivos, aquí os dejo una muestra de las últimas sesiones de tumbing.

Cuando hacemos una foto no nos damos cuenta de lo poderosos que podemos llegar a ser con ese gesto, ya que con un solo clic somos capaces de detener el tiempo, cualquier cosa en movimiento quedará parada a nuestro gusto, cualquier imagen la captaremos en color y ángulo a nuestro gusto…creo que tenemos un poder maravilloso, disfrutar de él.

I found this specimen dining on anthers in a small flowering shrub in my yard. While testing two stacked objectives salvaged from junk lenses I decided to check this particular bush which, during June... always has a variety of insects and spiders that make good test subjects. The most difficult part of getting this pic was trying to time things right to get legs, head, mandibles and antennae in a position that looked good. A dozen exposures were pretty bad, but this one had everything arranged OK.
Nikon D40, 105mm f/2.5 AI-S lens focused at infinity, with the objective from a junk Soligor 90-230mm reverse mounted on the 105mm, and an objective from an older Nikon 80-200mm lens (also reversed), mounted on the Soligor. Lighting was provided by the pop-up flash shot through a lens-mounted diffuser made from the plastic bowl that came in a frozen dinner.

Canaletto helped create the image of Venice that still dominates our imagination: a city of extraordinary beauty, yet anchored in the mundane. Succo and stone are dulled by weather, and market stalls have been set up in this corner of Saint Mark’s Square, the grandest of spaces. The objectivity is illusionary: Canaletto worked from careful drawings made on site, but he would subtly alter detail, perspective and scale when painting in his studio. Here he stressed the regularity and logical structure of the architecture, reinforced by even light, which draws attention to the surfaces.
One of the main objectives from my trip to Japan was to capture the row of vermilion
torii gates that straddle the paths at Fushimi Inari Shrine. Since early Japan, Inari was seen as the patron of business, traditionally worshipped by merchants and manufacturers. Each of the torii at Fushimi Inari Taisha is donated by a Japanese business. First and foremost, though, Inari is the god of rice.
Due to the extreme popularity of the site, the only way to avoid the masses and “pull off” the shot was to get there early in the morning, as soon as the shrine opened to the public.
