MSET works by relaying sensor target inputs to a vehicle-mounted command-and-control and fire-control system. That system determines grid coordinates, generates flight paths and launches the appropriate number of missiles. Those missiles are guided via real-time waypoint updates to the target location, and image processors on the missile provide positive identification, target lock-on and track to terminal.

The objective is to remind people of the benefits of Alka Seltzer, an antacid that allows you to eat anything without giving you indigestion or heartburn. Thus, the ad tells us that all animals that can be eaten are “good” and “go to heaven”. The ad appeared in general interest magazines and also in publications specialized in food.

Setting clear and strong expectations is a significant stage in accomplishing your objectives and showing the things you need throughout everyday life. The following are five moves toward assist you with setting clear and strong goals:

Nowadays, we throw around this thought of expectation setting nonchalantly. Perhaps you have been in a circumstance — like the beginning of a yoga or reflection class — where an educator casually requested that everybody set an aim, yet the solicitation conveyed no unique situation or significance.

Without a significant association with a genuine craving that stems from the heart, expectations can wind up lacking strength and power.

In any case, in all actuality, assuming that we comprehend the more profound why and how behind the act of aim setting, it tends to be an amazingly useful asset for showing our fantasies and transforming our dreams into the real world.

Prana Follows Concentration

In Sanskrit, the word prana alludes to the power of life which courses through all things, giving them energy and power. Perhaps of my most cherished instructor, Dr. Claudia Welch, frequently says that "prana follows center." It's turned into somewhat of a mantra in my life since it advises me that it makes a difference where I place my consideration.

Whatever I place my attention on is naturally attracting life-force energy and being magnified.

The more steady my concentration, the more life-force energy assembles around anything it is I'm centered around. Truly, this can be either a gift or a deterrent! Everything relies upon where my consideration is — and how eagerly it is engaged there.

Intentionally Pick Where to Place Your Consideration

This means, essentially somewhat, every one of us has the ability to coordinate our life-force energy, and we have a second to-second decision about where to channel it. This is unequivocally why expectations are so strong.

Consciously setting an intention creates an intense level of focus, which in turn amplifies the potency of our dreams.

For instance, when we focus eagerly on what we most need to bring into our lives — or into a specific second — our consideration will normally channel life-force energy toward that general thought, which can't resist the urge to help its sign.

Then again, we can straightforwardly zero in on something horrendous, harmful, or irritating, playing it again and again like a record to us. Definitely, prana will blend around those contemplations, supporting rather unsupportive examples in the psyche body framework.

Don't Be Afraid to Feel Your Feelings

Allow me to stop briefly to express that not the slightest bit am I proposing that one ought to stay away from gloomy feelings. As a matter of fact, I would contend that all feelings should be completely felt to be delivered — and that not feeling them is a considerably more dangerous methodology than recognizing them and permitting them to travel through.

All emotions—pleasant or unpleasant—are intended to move and flow so that they don't lie stagnant in our minds and bodies.

All things considered, focusing on an intensely charged close to home trigger will in general be fairly counter-useful. For my purposes, a more powerful system has been to recognize the inclination (without judgment), interface with my breath, notice the sensations in my body, and notice the normally disseminating energy of the inclination.

At the point when I'm ready to do this, it permits me to all the more quickly return my thoughtfulness regarding what I most need to make so my life force is stimulating my fantasies as opposed to my experience of affliction.

Take Time to Connect Your Mind and Heart

In Ayurveda, the brain is said to live in each cell and tissue all through the body, and it is established in the heart, as is prana vaha srotas, the channel that conveys prana all through the body.

Our intentions will be far more powerful if we initiate our intentions from the heart-space rather than from the intellect.

At the point when we deliberately center around arousing prana in our bodies to help our expectations, we can amplify their effect. Here is a bit by bit manual for setting expectations along these lines.

Goal Setting: Five Moves toward Making Marvels

This interaction can be applied to a goal, be it huge or little. Maybe it's a goal for the new year, another day, or a particular practice, similar to yoga or reflection. Or on the other hand it very well might be an aim for a specific discussion, meeting, or business offering.

This whole cycle should be possible in five to ten minutes, however to spend longer, you positively can — and doing so will probably additionally enhance the force of your expectation.

As you do this training, sit up tall with your neck and spine straight, as this will cultivate readiness and receptivity in the physical and enthusiastic bodies.

1. Connect with your breath.

Breathing profoundly, nimbly, into the whole body starts a strong opening in the unpretentious channels of the body, permitting prana to stream and guaranteeing that your life force is conscious and accessible to you. A couple of slow, full breaths will do ponders for spicing up your whole framework so that all pieces of your being are taken part in your expectation.

2. Ground your energy.

Grounding helps ensure that you are present, anchored in the moment, and connected to your body (rather than stuck in your head and distracted by rapid-fire thoughts). Here are some helpful ways to ground yourself:

Carry your attention to those region of your body connecting with the earth, the floor, a seat, or anything that could be supporting you right now.

Intentionally surrender your weight to gravity. Feel yourself fastened to this specific area, unwinding into the world's hug.

Carry your attention to the bottoms of your feet. Envision your feet immovably established in the dirt of the earth. With every inward breath, envision taking in through the bottoms of your feet, and with every exhalation, envision roots spreading out from the bottoms of your feet and plummeting the whole way to the planet's center.

3. Awaken your energetic body—the prana body.

There are various approaches to all the more intentionally stir and invigorate the progression of prana all through your body. The following are a couple of thoughts:

Practice a few minutes of pranayama. Supportive practices include Full Yogic Breath, Nadi Shodhana (Alternate Nostril Breathing), or a few minutes of both.

Take a few sluggish, full breaths, envisioning prana heading out from your root to your crown on every inward breath, and afterward back down the focal channel and into the earth on every exhalation. On the other hand, you can envision your prana body filling and extending outward with every inward breath and afterward gathering and blending around your spine with every exhalation.

4. Connect with your heart.

Presently carry your regard for your heart chakra and picture a sparkling circle of light close to the focal point of your chest.

As you breathe in, envision that circle extending outward — like an inflatable blowing up — growing toward each path. As you breathe out, envision the energy gathering at the focal point of your heart space as you drop further into Self.

Rehash this cycle for a few breaths until your heart feels open, extensive, and alive.

5. Name your intention.

This is a highly personal process and the only “right way” to do it is your way. Allow your intention to emerge organically from your heart and try to make it as clear and specific as possible. You can speak it out loud or simply hold it silently in your mind. Here are a few examples:

This year, I plan to develop an upbeat and cherishing feeling of local area by focusing on quality time with the companions who elevate and uphold me.

This week, I will do a self-massage with Daily Massage Oil every day.

Today, I will probably soak myself in confidence, to calm my self-analysis, and to rehearse dedicated taking care of oneself.

As I take Simple Summary, may my agni (stomach related fire) be fortified so I could develop ideal wellbeing through wonderful processing and nourishment.

What Happens Next?

The subsequent stages are a mix of give up and activity. Trust is fundamental. You have named your expectation. You have conjured help (from your own life-force energy and from the inconspicuous world). Presently, figure out how to trust the heavenly timing, all things considered,

Continue to hold your intention close to your heart, focus on it as often as you like, and take steps toward bringing it to life.

Remember that over-efforting by and large causes more limitation than stream, which will in general block the normal unfurling that needs to arise. All things considered, trust in the clearness and force of your expectations and accept that your fantasies will come into structure.

Your occupation is just to continue to place carefully and to savor the experience of the excursion as it unfurls before you.

A formation of twenty-four AH-64E Apache attack helicopters assigned to the 1-151st Aviation Regiment, Attack Reconnaissance Battalion (ARB), 59th Troop Command, South Carolina Army National Guard, performs a battalion formation flight during Operation Guardian Angels (OGA), Columbia, South Carolina, April 2, 2023. The formation took off from McEntire Joint National Guard Base (JNGB), flew over Columbia downtown and Lake Murray, and returned to McEntire JNGB after performing doctrinal rejoins and maneuvers throughout the flight. OGA was part of a larger training exercise, Operation Guardian Spring, involving several South Carolina Army National Guard commands. OGA’s primary objective was to test multi-ship operations for crews, maintainers, and flight operations personnel; moreover, the training presented an opportunity for the 1-151st ARB to test its ability to maintain effective command and control of a large formation and verify the operational capabilities of aircraft and crews, in the context of a battalion-level mission. By any objective standard, the image from the Voigtlander 50mm Apo-Lanthar is excellent. The colors are vibrant, the image is sharp, and the micro contrast is very good from corner to corner (see full resolution image). Seen by itself, it is hard to find any fault with it.

BUT… all that changes when you see the same scene shot with a Hasselblad X2D 100C with an XCD 65mm f/2.8 lens (equivalent to 50mm focal length). There is an X-factor with the Hasselblad image that is hard to describe, but it makes the image more appealing.

It is not a true apples-to-apples comparison, since the two photos were taken a week apart. So there are going to be some tonal differences in the foliage colors between the two photos. But in spite of it, there is still something extra in the X2D image.

This comes from two sources: the 16-bit color in the X2D, and Hasselblad’s proprietary color management firmware. Clearly, both lenses are sharp and there is very little difference in contrast or details. Which speaks very highly of the CV50 Apo lens, which costs only about 900 USD.

The 7th Special Operations Squadron (7th SOS) was tasked to Joint Special Operations Task Force-North, known as Task Force Viking, whose objective was to hold 13 Iraqi Army divisions along the “Green Line” in northeastern Iraq to prevent those divisions from reinforcing other Iraqi operations against US forces invading Kuwait. Forward-based at Constanța, Romania, its primary mission was to infiltrate the 2nd and 3rd Battalions of the Army’s 10th Special Forces Group and the 3rd Battalion of the 3rd Special Forces Group into Kurdish-held territory in preparation for Operation Northern Delay. Denied permission by Turkey to fly into Iraq from its airspace, the 7th SOS flew the first 280 Troops on a circuitous path around Turkey to a base in Jordan on 20-21 March 2003.

In this image, two MC-130H (serial numbers: 88-0193 and 89-0281) of the 7th SOS prepare for take-off from an air base in Jordan on a night flight to northern Iraq. On March 22, six Combat Talon IIs (four from the 7th SOS) infiltrated 16 ODAs, four ODBs, battalion command elements, and Air Force Combat Control Teams to complete the fifteen-hour mission, the longest in US Special Operations history. The insertion profile consisted of a four-and-a-half-hour low-level flight at night through western and northern Iraq to Bashur and Sulaymaniyah airfields, often taking heavy ground fire from the integrated air defences. The Combat Talon IIs, at emergency gross weight limits, operated blacked-out, employed chaff and electronic countermeasures, flew as low as 100 ft (30 m) above ground level (AGL), and carried their troops tethered to the floor of the cargo holds. After airlanding their troops, the Combat Talon IIs had to fly back through the alerted defences to their launching point. Three Talons were battle-damaged, with one forced to seek permission to land at Incirlik Air Base. The following day, Turkey and the Combat Talon IIs were granted overflight missions that delivered 50 ODAs into Iraq and acted as pathfinders for conventional C-130 airlift missions.

A FIERCE GREEN FIRE

“Only a mountain has lived long enough to listen objectively to the howl of a wolf…

We were eating lunch on a high rimrock, at the foot of which a turbulent river elbowed it’s way. We saw what we thought was a doe fording the torrent, her breast awash with white water. When she climbed the bank toward us, and shook out her tail, we realized our error: it was a wolf. A half-dozen others, evidently grown pups, sprang from the willows and all joined in a welcoming melee of wagging tails and playful maulings…

In those days we had never heard of passing up a chance to kill a wolf. In a second we were pumping lead into the pack… When our rifles were empty, the old wolf was down, and a pup was dragging a leg into the impassable slide-rocks.

We reached the old wolf in time to watch a fierce green fire dying in her eyes. I realized then, and have known ever since, that there was something new to me in those eyes – something known only to her and the mountain. I was young then, and full of trigger-itch: I thought that because fewer wolves meant more deer, that no wolves would mean hunters’ paradise. But after seeing the green fire die, I sensed that neither the wolf nor the mountain agreed with such a view.

Since then I have lived to see state after state extirpate its wolves. I have watched the face of many a newly wolfless mountain, and see the south-facing slopes wrinkle with a maze of new deer trails. I have seen every edible bush and seedling browsed. ..to death. In the end the starved bones of the hoped-for deer herd, dead of its own too-much…

So also with cows. The cowman who cleans his range of wolves does not realize that he is taking over the wolf’s job of trimming the herd to fit the range. He has not learned to think like a mountain. Hence we have dustbowls, and rivers washing the future into the sea.”

Objects and Symbolism

Photo 2

Objective 2: Creative Exposure

The camera mode: Av because I feel the most comfortable using Av and the settings can be played around with more that P mode.

F stop used and why: f5 because I wanted a faster shutter speed to reduce any camera shake and I didn’t need a large depth of field since there is only a foreground and background.

Shutter speed used and why: 1/2000 because of the other settings used.

ISO used and why: 100 because it was a bright day and I was shooting directly up at the sky.

Focal length and why: 55mm because the barbed wire was farther away and since it was on a high fence, I didn’t have the option to go nearer to the barbed wire.

Objective 3: Elements and Principles of Design

Lighting: The lighting was backlighting because I was shooting directly up at the sky. Although, because of the time of day, the sun was at a very slight angle to the barbed wire, which illuminated edges of the barbed wire and created interest in the otherwise silhouetted form. The lighting in the background is also interesting as well because of the texture made by the sun hitting the clouds.

Unity: This photo has unity because of the sharp texture of the barbed wire interests the eye and the coils of the wire draws the eye evenly across the photo. Paired with the soft texture of the clouds in the background and the black and white quality of the picture, it definitely has unity.

Contrast: Because the picture is black and white, there is a direct contrast of lights and darks which emphasises the barbed wire against the grey and white background.

Pattern: The evenly spaced barbs on the wire creates a pattern that makes the eye follow the wire across the photo and adds interest and texture.

Balance: the black and white quality of this photo creates a balance. Normally black will dominate a picture if used only in a black and white picture, but because the true black is only used in the thin lines of the barbed wire, it balances out against the mainly grey sky and the white highlights make the picture a full grey scale.

Movement: There is no actual movement shown in this picture. But there is the implied movement made by the eye traveling across the photograph. This is caused by the coiled barbed wire and its counterpart, the straight leading lines of the other two straight wires.

Emphasis: The barbed wire in the foreground is the focal point of the picture. This is because it is a silhouette against the lighter sky of the background. The soft texture of the clouds also complements the sharp, hard lines of the barbed wire.

Value: Value is in the entire photograph because it is black and white, and therefore made out of the values of grey. The black value of the barbed wire paired with the light highlights along its edge emphasises the barbed wire against the grey and white background which recedes from the eye when seen beside the extreme black and white of the barbed wire.

Texture: the barbs on the wire really creates a sharp hard texture while the clouds are very soft. This really creates some interest.

Space: this photograph has negative space and positive space as well. The Barbed wire is positive space because it is obviously the foreground and seems to literally stand out against the background. The negative space is the cloudy background which seems to recede behind the positive space and makes the positive space more of a focal point and the main interest.

Form: because of the highlights on the barbwire, you can see that it is a rounded three dimensional form.

Shape: The barbed wire has a very definitive edge, and because it is almost a complete silhouette, it can also illustrate shape as well. Also, because the background is so far away, and because I used a small depth of field, it seems flat and two dimensional.

Line: This picture has tons of line. Everything but the background is made up of it. Although, really there isn’t a lot of actual lines in the picture, because it is made up of those few ones, it’s almost concentrated which makes them more potent. The lines are smooth and sharp, while the two strands of barbwire on the right are leading lines. The rounded coils also soften the image slightly.

Objective 5: Post Production (ex. dust/spot removal, resize, contrast, white balance, sharpening, borders, etc.)

Corrections/adjustments made:

Temperature

Tint

Exposure

Contrast

Highlights

Shadows

Clarity

Sharpening

Noise Reduction/luminance

Objective 6: Critique

My photograph looks like there’s a slight vignette in the corners that detracts from the photo because it’s not large enough to be a proper vignette that could add to the photograph and instead detracts from it. I’m not sure how it got there but it could be the edge of my filter on the end of the lens.

Objective 4: Lighting

Type of lighting and why: The lighting was backlighting because I was shooting directly up at the sky. Although, because of the time of day, the sun was at a very slight angle to the barbed wire, which illuminated edges of the barbed wire and created interest in the otherwise silhouetted form. The lighting in the background is also interesting as well because of the texture made by the sun hitting the clouds.

Objective 7: Photographic Styles (ex. portrait, landscape, etc.) – Explain why the settings and composition are appropriate for the style of photography

Type/style of photography: Art Photography

when I took the photo I used Av because I'm the most comfortable with that camera setting. The f stop was f/5 because i didnt need a large depth of field and I prefer using a larger f stop when a large depth of field is not needed to reduce any camera shake.

The shutter speed was 1/2000 because it was a very bright day and I hade a high f stop. The ISO was 100 because of the bright light. There was no exposure compensation because I was not comfortable with using it at the time of the photograph. The focal lengh was 55mm because I was shooting directly up at the barbed wire on top o a fence so there was no option of getting closer.

The dome of the Riga Nativity of Christ Orthodox Cathedral, on Jaņa Rozentāla square, Riga, Latvia. The Neo-Byzantine style orthodox cathedral was built between 1876 and 1883, converted into a Lutheran church by the occupying German forces during the First World War, became an Orthodox cathedral again in 1921 when Latvia became independent, closed down in the early 1960s by the Soviet authorities that converted its building into a planetarium and was eventually restored as an orthodox cathedral when Latvia regained independence from the Soviet Union in 1991.

One of the main objectives of the European Union is to promote economic, social and territorial cohesion between regions. The reformed EU Cohesion Policy 2014-2020 comes at a pivotal moment. Recent years of austerity have seen rising unemployment and widening inequality, especially in peripheral regions, with youth, women and ethnic minorities worst affected.

Making over €350 billion available to invest in Europe's regions, cities and the real economy, the reformed Cohesion Policy is the EU's principal investment tool to deliver the Europe 2020 goals: creating growth and jobs, tackling climate change and energy dependence, reducing poverty and social exclusion. Once member states’ national contributions and the leverage effect of financial instruments are taken into account, the impact is likely to be over €500 billion.

Launching a new partnership with the European Commission, with the participation of the OECD, Salzburg Global’s program is timed to help key stakeholders understand the rules and results-oriented focus of the reformed Cohesion Policy and ensure maximum impact for these investments. It will build on our longstanding European program which has featured over 15 sessions devoted to the EU’s development and expansion, grounded in our location at the crossroads of East and West.

The 2014 program will focus on ways in which regional development policy and complementary instruments can enhance competitiveness and effective governance at local, regional and transboundary levels.

Participants will examine tools for environmentally sustainable innovation, human capital development, creation and financing of SMEs and the transition to a low carbon economy. They will compare practical projects and mechanisms that have delivered successful outcomes for competitiveness and inclusive growth, in and beyond Europe, in order to identify transferable tools and connect stakeholders who are leading cutting-edge work around the world.

The program will be held from May 17 to May 22, 2014 in Salzburg, Austria, with a one day, high-level pre-session meeting on May 17-18, focusing on European competitiveness, the shift to low carbon economies, and the role of sustainable cities.
