Project Gemini was the second human spaceflight program of NASA, the civilian space agency of the United States government. Project Gemini was conducted between projects Mercury and Apollo, with ten manned flights occurring in 1965 and 1966.

Its objective was to develop space travel techniques in support of Apollo, which had the goal of landing men on the Moon. Gemini achieved missions long enough for a trip to the Moon and back, perfected extra-vehicular activity (working outside a spacecraft), and orbital maneuvers necessary to achieve rendezvous and docking. All manned Gemini flights were launched from Cape Canaveral, Florida using the Titan II GLV launch vehicle.

NATO's primary objective in Afghanistan is to enable the Afghan authorities to provide effective security across the country so it can never again be a refuge for terrorists. Along with conducting security operations and mentoring Afghan National Security Forces, building adequate facilities where troops may live, work and train is vital to promoting a strong security force.

The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers has constructed dozens of installations to support NATO's objectives with dozens more under construction, including the Regional Military Training Center in Kandahar province. The installation will be the site of basic warrior training, follow-on specialty training and day-to-day operations for up to 3,000 Afghan National Army personnel. The project includes the design, materials, labor and equipment to construct administration buildings, dining facilities, a fitness center, medical clinic, small arms storage, parking areas, barracks and more. Valued at $42 million, the RMTC in Kandahar is currently about 50 percent complete. A local Afghan company was awarded the contract.

Air conditioning, also called aircon, AC or A/C system, can be defined as a technique or system with the main objective to modify the properties of the air we breathe, such as climate and humidity, to more comfortable conditions for the occupants of the home or office. However, from a general perspective, this term may talk about any kind of system that transforms the conditions of the air, including venting systems, heating or disinfection.

An AC unit can be defined either as a system, mechanism or appliance. Air conditioners have the ability to change the heat level of the air, being used for cooling and sometime heating. The system employed by air conditioners is called a refrigeration system, although sometimes they may use an evaporation system.

Installing a complete cooling system, often reffered to as an hvac system, is a pretty hard job, which involves knowledge of plumbing and electrical work. Many people leave the job to specialized service providers, which is encouraged most of the times.

As all home appliances, cooling systems can break down every now and then, especially if they are not properly maintained. When the a/c unit works, but the air isn't properly cooled down, the problem probably is in the distribution system. Other problems in air conditioning systems may be caused by dirty, cloged or leaky ducts or minor malfunctions in the evaporator or condenser unit.

Since these units are sealed, it's better to call a specialized technician to deal with those problems, as well as with maintenance and cleaning jobs. Also, AC systems should be examined and adjusted before any cooling season, in order to prevent malfunctions and breakdowns and keep your cooling system working successfully. For your safety, it is best that a trained eye inspects your AC unit, beause he can make a spot-on evaluation and give useful solutions to your problems. advanpro.ca/

The objective is to pull someone into the barrel. When they touch they are out and the circle shrinks. If you break grip, the two who broke grip are also out. Some of the games went on for a long time, and eventuially the boys developes strategies to team up against the stonger players so the little guys were not always the first ones out.

The main tower was our objective for this trip. Jordan and I have seen this tower from Sunrise Glacier. It was beaming white and was visible from many perspective. But from where our basecamp was and what we had to go through to get to it, it would have been a pretty painful ordeal. So we took it a bit easier and tagged Pegasus's north face instead.

Objectives.

Gum arabic, myrrh and frankincense are abundant in the Sahel region of sub-Saharan Africa. These local resources present the way forward to sustainable management and development of the Sahel regions, which naturally have fewer options due to difficult environmental conditions. However, irregularity of supply accompanied by fluctuating prices and variable quality from some sources results in unfavourable long-term effects on the demand of these commodities. As a result, producing countries are experiencing problems in relation to commercialization and ensuring a value-added product in relation to international markets. A coordinated strategy among producer countries and partners is therefore needed to capitalize on the existing opportunities and address the constraints. In fact a coordinated strategy will enable producing countries to have better control of the international trade and share different experience in the area of production, processing, quality control and marketing. The project seeks to address these areas and prepare a 10-year plan for development of gum and resin production in the framework of the NGARA network.

Three of these were painted in 2002 before the Calgary GT. The fourth was finished this morning. Now the rules state objectives have to be on 40mm bases, I had actually done that for the "beer and nuts" objective, but ammo and chips I had to rebase. Maybe I should have added skulls, my basing and rebasing strategy is basically sand, plastic skulls, and plastic Nurglings. I used some Contrast paint on the newest objective, but I also uses washes, glazes, and hand painted highlights.

WTDC-17 Committee 3 Objectives

Objective no longer carries the scope specs, it's on the focuser plate.

At the end of their first year at the U.S. Naval Academy the freshmen, known as plebes (for plebeian), undergo a ritual rite-of-passage that symbolizes their transition from lowly plebes to full-fledged midshipmen. This event is known simply as "Herndon" or the "Plebe Recognition Ceremony." The tradition has endured at the Naval Academy for many years.

The challenge: to scale the 21-foot tall gray granite obelisk, remove the "dixie cup" plebe hat on top and replace it with a midshipman's cover. To make it more difficult the tower is greased; this year with 36 pounds of butter, two gallons of canola oil and several tubs of vegetable shortening.

At the sound of a cannon blast, more than 1,000 eager, screaming plebes charge toward the Herndon monument. As they attempt to climb the lard-covered monument and sweaty bodies mix with the slippery slime, early optimism succumbs to gritty determination. Agony shows on the faces of those at the bottom of the pyramid as they support upon their shoulders three or four tiers of bodies above them. Those at the top strain to climb as high as possible in order to switch out the hats before losing their balance and falling into the mass of classmates below. Only by using discipline, teamwork and courage can they achieve success.

The fastest time for climbing a greased monument was 20 minutes in 1972. The longest time was 4 hours and 5 minutes in 1995.

The well-used brass-tubed scope has a 2" (5.1cm) objective lens of focal length 36" (91cm), and an erecting eyepiece lens with focal length of 2", giving a magnification of 18X.

The image is clear and the lenses are undamaged. The image is sufficiently resolved so that I can make out craters on the Moon, the major satellites of Jupiter and Saturn's rings.

The folded length of the scope is 25" (64cm).

The gold-rimmed spectacles from the mid-nineteenth century provide scale.

The tube is faintly engraved 'London - 2 inch' and '18xx' (could be 1818) and the drawtube has engraved lines and numbers to indicate nominal focus at 100 feet, 250 feet, and infinity.

'Mametz Wood was the objective of the 38th (Welsh) Division during the First Battle of the Somme. The attack occurred in a Northerly direction over a ridge, focussed on the German positions in the wood between 7 July and 12 July1916. The attack of the 7 July failed to reach the wood before the men were halted by machine gun fire. Further attacks by the 17th Division on 8 July failed to improve the position.

Infuriated by what he saw as a distinct lack of 'push' Sir Douglas Haig and Henry Rawlinson visited the HQ of the Welsh Division to make their displeasure known. Major General Ivor Philipps, officer commanding the Welsh Division, was subsequently relieved of his command.

Battle at Mametz Wood by Christopher Williams (1918)Haig passed control of the Division to Major General Watts, commander of the 7th Division and told him to use it 'as he saw fit'. Watts planned a full scale attack for the 9 July but organising the attacking formations took some time and the attack was subsequently postponed until 10 July 1916. The operational order was blunt, stating that the Division would attack the wood with the aim of 'capturing the whole of it'.

The 10 July attack was on a larger scale than had been attempted earlier. Despite heavy casualties the fringe of the wood was soon reached and some bayonet fighting took place before the wood was entered and a number of German machine guns silenced. Fighting in the wood was fierce with the Germans giving ground stubbornly.

The 14th Welsh (Swansea) Battalion went into the attack with 676 men and after a day of hard fighting had lost almost 400 men killed or wounded before being relieved. Other battalions suffered similar losses. However, by 12 July the wood was effectively cleared of the enemy. The Welsh Division had lost about 4,000 men killed or wounded in this searing engagement. It would not be used in a massed attack again until 31 July 1917.

The Welsh Poet, Owen Sheers, wrote a poem after the event in his Skirrid Hill collection: "This morning, twenty men buried in one long grave, a broken mosaic of bone linked arm in arm, their skeletons paused mid dance-macabre" '

A personal spot for me; myself being Welsh. The area surrounding the wood was eerily silent, and the feeling of tension almost unbearable. I've never been anywhere quite like it. The dragon is remarkable though. It has to be one of the most beautiful memorials on the Western Front.

And it is true: the birds really do sing again in Mametz.

Objective: run a disc brake on the front for commuting / touring and be able to swap to regular road wheels quickly with no fuss.

Solution:

Winwood Muddy CX disc fork with BB5 caliper. Purchased a replacement headset to get a new crown race. Kept the cable hanger and original canti outer, then replaced the brake cable with a new rear cable and spliced the new outer to the original with a barrel adjuster.

I can switch to road wheels by swapping out the fork for the original UltraCross fork and canti brake cable. Takes about 15 minutes.
