"Whoever came up with the idea that people would travel from around the world to see goats on a roof is a pure genious! Never a quiet moment at Coombs but always good ice cream on the go!" - Sarah Williams, 2012 myPQB Story Contest
"I really enjoy the car buffs who live here or come to visit and share their lovely collector vehicles. This picture makes me smile because I jumped out of my dentist's chair to take the photo. I loved the colours, and you can see reflections of downtown Parksville on the side of the car." - Marnee Pearce, 2014 myPQB Story Contest
"I was adopted at 3 weeks old and before I even went to my forever home my parents took me for a vacation at St. Andrews Lodge on Qualicum Beach. I spent 3 weeks every summer there until I was 24 years old. My time spent in that beautiful place is forever etched in my heart and whenever I need a pick me up I remember that place and all the amazing people I met there over the years. In August 2015 I was married for the second time and my amazing new husband took me there for a honeymoon. He said he needed to see this place that I love so much and he now loves it too." - Liann Kampman, 2015 myPQB Story Contest
"Wildlife doing what comes natural! Always photo opportunities in the area!" - Janet Ellis, 2014 myPQB Story Contest

"We just thought we'd "drop-in" for a quick visit to the Qualicum Beach Museum, but had no idea of the treasures found there. I was lucky to be able to visit Qualicum this past summer and even luckier that I am blessed with amazing in-laws that live there. This was the first time I had ever seen a forest or waterfall." - Lisa Traina Quin, 2013 myPQB Story Contest

"I like to think of this photo as a tribute to my Dad who, after taking us children to Parksville for family vacations, was able to sit with all of his grandchildren in 2012 in front of what used to be the Island Hall beach resort. Precious family moments that will never be forgotten. My love always." - Karen Wren, 2013 myPQB Story Contest

Highlights of a Wave
Nikon z9, 200mm, (NIKKOR Z 70-200mm f/2.8 VR S), 1/40s, f/2.8, ISO 1,000

I like to use a longer lens for photographing waves so I can look right into the depths of the wave. For yesterday’s shots, I used my 70-200 mm lens, but will often use my 400mm. I love the play of light on water working into the dark of water. Even colour changes happen quickly during the time span of evening shots.
