Misty Mountain Sunset
ā¢
I wonder how many times Iāve used this house in a photo over the years? Can you really blame me, though? It is a beautiful location for a variety of ocean and mountain shots showcasing our area especially during a Misty sunset! Gotta send a birthday shoutout to our grandson, Hunter, who hit double digits today! Happy 10th birthday, buddy š

Spent a little time outside with my lovely 105mm portrait and macro lens. Wasnāt sure how it would capture a landscape scene; I must say I am not disappointed.

"We came to visit our friends who live in a 7000 square foot log house near Duncan on September 01, 2015. They took us around the island. We literally fell in love with Qualicum Beach so much we bought a house on September 03, only 3 days later. The island and especially QB was so enchanting. It reminded us of our winter stays in New Zealand where we found everyone to be so helpful and friendly, where we actually planned to move. We never thought for a moment that another place on this global village could actually be the same. We were wrong and now look forward to spending and enjoying our years ahead as retirees on this semi-tropical island. Our new home is a garden of Eden surrounded by wonderful people." - Joe Dennie, 2015 myPQB Story Contest
"Quallicum Beach Railway station has been the destination of many visitors travelling up and down the Island. Such a wonderful historic building." - Lorene Kimura, 2013 myPQB Story Contest
"This beautiful Parksville Beach vista is something we never get tired of. As much as we enjoy camping in the area, every once in a while it's nice to stay indoors and be pampered. With a view like this, that can't be beat." - John Phillips, 2016 myPQB Story Contest

Submitted by Daryl Hale to the 2012 myPQB Story Contest: "Parksville Beach :) Having lived in the area since 1967, I have had the opportunity to spend countless hours over the years at the Beach and Park. It has certainly changed over the years and is one of my TOP SPOTS to visit."
"Years ago, in 1992, I moved to Qualicum Beach with my daughter. She was 1 year old. We lived on Garrett Rd, half a block from the beach. At night, after supper, we would have a fire and play on the beach for hours... laughing, collecting shells. Best time of my life." - Julie Shepherd, 2013 myPQB Story Contest
Submitted by Maggie May to the 2012 myPQB Story Contest: "This past Thanksgiving a friend and I spent a few days in the Parksville Qualicum area. After visiting most of the beaches, we spent an afternoon hiking through Little Qualicum Falls Park. We hadn't had much rain yet so there was still a lot of lively, green foliage mixed in with the Autumn Colours. A great trip!!!"

"I think it is so fantastic that I can go and have dinner in the living room where some of celebrities I grew up with stayed. People like John Wayne, Bing Crosby and even the King of Siam stayed here. I also like the fact it was built by one of the key founders of Quallicum Beach." - Lorene Kimura, 2013 myPQB Story Contest
