A late-ish visit to sketch in the Botanic Gardens yesterday. I used my GREEN Copic Multiliner SP for the first time. I like it. It has enough depth of tone to give definition. The real test will be when I do something a bit more minimalist with it. Yesterday I was in the mood for really putting in the darks.

Though I hadn't read the post in the last 3 months I gave it a go.
Each student at my first Zentangle Basics workshop receives a small gift - the initial of their first name, filled with tangles. The small tags/cards these are drawn on are 41mm (1 5/8") wide x 78mm (3 1/8") high. I drew them with Sakura pigma micron 005, Copic multiliner 003, Prismacolor watersoluble graphite HB. First workshop: 14th November, 2010.
Ok, so this is the last one. Not ending with a bang, but with an ending, or maybe it's a beginning. These were 30 things you may or may not have known about me, mundane or otherwise, not particularly the most important or interesting things, nor even that revelatory, but such things make up our selves. Also, my apartment, not every inch, not every object, and often the most mundane of things (like the ceiling, i mean, hello, like). In this case, my sketchbooks. I also drew the entire thing using just two pens (using both in each drawing), both cobalt copic multiliners, one 0.1 and one 0.3. The campus bookstore where I got them were discontinuing their stock and these were the last ones, so I knew I had to stick with them.
I hope you've enjoyed this very random and only-partially-revealing journey.

I draw this scene every six months; it has become a tradition now. This was done over a couple of sittings; I didn't have time to finish it at first, but then we had a couple of weeks of rain, so this week I finally got out in the cold cold sunshine and finished it off.

Should be a no-brainer, but it is usually more efficient to pick your pencil case inner lining color so that your drawing tools stand out against it. You can be more productive if you can spot and pick your chosen pens faster. That's why I stop storing darker colored pens and pencils in this Faber Castell black nylon pencil case and reserve it for storing my silver finish pens like the Copic Multiliner SP pens. Blog entry.
I created this page during our move across country. It includes journaling about a particularly stressful day.

"Life is pretty simple: You do some stuff. Most fails. Some works. You do more of what works. If it works big, others quickly copy it. Then you do something else. The trick is the doing something else."
