Matt Griffin's Edgar Alan Poe drawing for the Makerbot Unicorn drawn on an egg by an Eggbot using a 0.05 Copic Multiliner pen. Matt's artwork may be found at Thingiverse. The drawing was modified using a mapping to stretch the drawing horizontally near the poles so as to reduce distortion.

ZIG & COPIC MultiLiner Brush Pens
3.5" x 3.5" Cosmos Blotting Paper.
This is one of 3 drawings where I used Tombow brush pens for the background color (much, much brighter than the scan), and then did the zen wtih Pentel Slicci & Copic multiliner SPs. I wanted to see how much difference there would be in the results & the scans.
The scanner washed out the colors a bit, particularly in the face. You can tell how it just has the bright glare of the scanner light on it. The ears and nose are actually a pinkish hue. I think somehow it looks more like a chubby hamster than a guinea pig? Anyway, I tried to incorporate different blue and green hues in the abstract patterns because those are colors my trading partner likes. Somehow the guinea pig looks like it's sitting on a planet, I think.

“Within Siddhartha there slowly grew and ripened the knowledge of what wisdom really was and the goal of his long seeking. It was nothing but a preparation of the soul, a capacity, a secret art of thinking, feeling and breathing thoughts of unity at every moment of life.”
― Hermann Hesse, Siddhartha
The phrase "as it is outside, so it is within the body" is often found in the Kālachakra tantra to emphasize the similarities and correspondence between human beings and the cosmos; this concept is the basis for Kālachakra astrology, but also for more profound connections and interdependence.

I don't like how I did the inking here, but I was happy to do something simpler and more understated.

Here, I tried to draw transparent ball, resting on the white matte surface with a horizon line, lit by a diffused source of light (like a matte ball lamp). I'm not really sure about shadow size, if it is large enough, but to me it looks natural.
To draw it, I used Copic Multiliner pens, 0.03 and 0.1 for the horizon line. I think, larger nib gives some feeling of a grainy texture, when compared to three times finer one.
