I had no real intention to start drawing in color, but by the coincident, I've got several Uni-Ball pens in orange, red, purple and dark violet color. I'm using these pens to draw programming prints, and those bright colors are not really suitable for the most kinds of artistic drawings, but hummingbird's head is very bright object too.
I also used white pen (Gelly Roll 08) for accents and gray one (Copic Multiliner) to draw a general shape of body.
Colors are not completely matching Anna's hummingbird male plumage, but it's relatively close.
Each student at my first Zentangle Basics workshop receives a small gift - the initial of their first name, filled with tangles. The small tags/cards these are drawn on are 41mm (1 5/8") wide x 78mm (3 1/8") high. I drew them with Sakura pigma micron 005, Copic multiliner 003, Prismacolor watersoluble graphite HB. First workshop: 14th November, 2010.

proctored a day-long exam today, and was at a loss as to what to do. Didn't bring the laptop as I thought it would be too noisy in a silent room. I read the Indo-Europeans book. I read the campus newspaper. I started to doze off in the silence. I did a few quick sketches of the bookshelves, and then I got the moley out and started to draw some of the contents of my pencil case. I stopped at eight pens. I think I saw Andrea Joseph draw her pens like this once, if I recall. Anyway, each pen is a different colour, each drawn with the pen it represents.
If I did this again I'd use paper better suited for smooth drawing. The watercolour moley is what I always use but it's better if I'm adding a wash. I say this because I struggled with the really fine sepia nib on this one.

I really need to clean up my work space! I will be mad if I get paint on my books.
Started a painting of the imp, hope it turns out sweet.
Another refresher (#27 from tanglepatterns.com): Pokeleaf, Brayd, Dutch Hourglass, Wigwam, Longwood. Without a string, they developed into a strange shape...
Was not too happy with it, so I added some colour: Copic pigment Multiliner in Wine, Pink and Turquoise. And then added a Picasa frame as a last attempt to spruce it up :)

Painted first with frisket, then used sponge brushes to apply 4 different colors of fountain pen ink. Once dry, rubbed off the frisket to reveal white paper then colored in with Copic multiliner markers.
I had prepared some pages especially for sketching at Cockatoo Island. I collaged kozo paper of various textures and then sploshed a bit of watercolour on and spattered a bit.
3.5 x 3.5 inches using Tanglepatterns.com starting string TSP004. I used Michelle (Shelly) Beauchamp's pattern Brayd and my new pattern, Uncubed. Copic multiliner and Copic markers.

san francisco, corner of columbus and kearny, cafe zoetrope at the bottom, the offices of american zoetrope somewhere up above, the financial district somewhere behind, chinatown and little italy not far away. I had a big brownie while drawing this. Last day of June 2007, san francisco. Copic multiliner 0.1, black and grey, plus cotman watercolours.
