marks alot (fat poster pen) and black multiliner

I have two wallets. The black one is the everyday one, with credit cards, stamps, receipts and all that junk. The little blue one is made from ikat cloth and I bought it in Ubud in Bali probably the first time I went there about 25 years ago. I always use it in situations when I don't want to take my credit cards and valuables.

I used watercolour pencils for this one as I needed them to draw the cloth.

“Keep your thoughts positive because your thoughts become your words. Keep your words positive because your words become your behavior. Keep your behavior positive because your behavior becomes your habits. Keep your habits positive because your habits become your values. Keep your values positive because your values become your destiny.”

― Mahatma Gandhi

The Pitt ink does not dissolve the black outlines drawn with Copic multiliners, so they are quite compatible and a good combo for mixed media projects. By contrast, the outline and letters drawn with the Rotring Art Sketching Pen are not water-resistant at all and immediately smear and pollute the Pitt ink washes (sample on upper right corner).

Did the wash at home. This is on Market Street, looking up Stockton with the tunnel under the hill in the distance there. I had just been to the Virgin Megastore for the last time; it is closing down, unsurprisingly - all the ones in the UK changed to Zavvi a couple of years ago and now Zavvi too has vanished. Virgin is behind that lamp-post there.

Enjoyed drawing this one a lot. Used a copic multiliner and it was nicer than the microns I was using the previous day.

This delicious cocktail I had last night at Barbara's farewell. Barbara is the organiser of the Sydney Sketch Meetip Group and she's in her way back to the USA. Multiliner and Prismacolours.

Egg on left: purple lines were drawn with a 0.2mm Pigma Micron 005; turquoise lines were drawn with a 0.3mm Copic Multiliner SP. Both of these pens use a fiber tip nib. The design of the Pigma Micron is such that overtime the tip does not mushroom as much as the Copic Multiliner SP. Less of the Micron's tip extends past its metal tip sleeve.

Egg on right: lines drawn with a 0.18 mm Koh-i-noor Rapidograph. These technical pens use all metal nibs (and tips).

200130: My dear colleague and friend Annika doesn't like me in wide baggy jeans. When she asked me why I was wearing THESE jeans, I said, "Look at Billie Eilish!" Luckily, she didn't remember that Billie Eilish was 18 years old and therefore slightly younger than me. 😅 By the way, Posca markers are bleeding through a little bit in the 2020 Moleskine. In the last year's pocket diary that didn't happen.

This was part of a flower series that seems to have fizzled out. I forgot to take a picture of the black and white zen before I colored it.
