Created in June 2010, this zentangled ATC (artist trading card) used Copic multiliners on Gina K Pure Luxury cardstock. This view shows both the front and back of the card.
While drawing this, I was watching a show on undersea life, the origin of life on land (as believed by some). There are penguins, anemone, hanging pots of plants, etc. Enjoy!
New kind of exercise for me: duotone drawing on medium-grey matte paper. Here, I used Copic Multiliner Cool Grey pens to fill the general shape and black ones to add darker accents. This paper, even being matte, was a kind of pressed to make its surface smoother, and it's not the best choice for this technique.

Random color zentangle. Only because once you start, you itch to do more. Not really sure which way should be up.

It comes as no surprise then to learn that red is associated with fire, burning, heat and warmth.
Being the color of blood, red is also connected to life and that which sustains life.
Everything is in balance in our world, so just as there are positive aspects of the meaning of red, there are negatives associated with this color as well.
The color red is associated with selfishness, self-centeredness, anger and a temper. It is related to aggressiveness, a war-like attitude and conquest.

This is not an original design - you'll find lots of similar cards on Pinterest - but it's quick and easliy customized with different colored washi tapes
My first e-art trade. It looked fine until I started to color it. I didn't know what to use, and in the end just overdid it. x_X I'm just not a good colorist. I'm quite terrible at landscapes, but I really liked the idea of melding scenes from the legend into one. So elements from the legend covered are: the tree in which Merlin will be entrapped, Camelot, the lake in the mists of Avalon, and fate in general.
Young Merlin, the incubus, and everything that has been foretold, and what he knows will come to be. Something like that.

Last week drawing at Cockatoo Island. Saw the Biennale a few weeks ago and found most of it underwhelming. This is my new sketchbook of Como paper so I used my Coptic Multiliner and Tombows (a challenge).
Went today for a plein air meetup in Wendy Whiteley's garden at Lavender Bay. Wendy is the widow of Australian Artist Brett Whiteley

I go swimming in the morning at Leichhardt Pool which is up above this little jetty. Friday was our first nice morning, so I took my sketchbook and drove down here to draw the boats. I can sit in the car while I draw & very few people are around exxcept for people walking.
This is just one of many staircases in this old apartment building. A passer-by told us that it was originally built for the workers who built Sydney Harbour Bridge (opened 1932).It is known locally as Manic Mansions as it is a Housing Commission building and according to our informant the tenantry are the type who throw fridges down the stairs in the nioght. The noise coming from someone's radio was certainly challenging.
My big sunglasses have creamy semi-transparent frames. At this time of the year, when the sun is low in the sky, it gets inside the frames and the light flares. Raybans again for me next time. Yes, those colours really were in the shadows.
Testing a variety of inks and pens for lightfastness. Original chart was drawn on July 20th and this first comparison done on August 1st. Chart was placed in a South (slight south-west) position. The center of each band was wet with a water brush to show both bleed and lightfastness when wet.
1-6 were inked from a pen and 7-32 were inked using a dipped stick.

not a good drawing i'm afraid, but it'll go in, if only as an example that copic 0.3 multiliner pens don't last very long (barely a week, or four drawings) before they start to play silly buggers. I'm not sure what i was doing with the colours either. There were lots of glamourous shops though. Can't say all the people were that glamourous though, but i'm sure they felt it.
We were looking for an old building to draw and then I saw how the shadows were falling on the face of this shop & chose this one. Please note for EDiM I have TWO drawings with trees.
