Testing a variety of inks and pens for lightfastness. Original chart was drawn on July 20th. Chart was placed in a South (slight south-west) position. The center of each band was wet with a water brush to show both bleed and lightfastness when wet.

1-6 were inked from a pen and 7-32 were inked using a dipped stick.

“When someone seeks," said Siddhartha, "then it easily happens that his eyes see only the thing that he seeks, and he is able to find nothing, to take in nothing because he always thinks only about the thing he is seeking, because he has one goal, because he is obsessed with his goal. Seeking means: having a goal. But finding means: being free, being open, having no goal.”

― Hermann Hesse, Siddhartha

These are the oldest Copic multiliner SP pens in my collection. I have replaced the original nib once and the ink refill twice on the 0.5 mm pen. The barrels remain in great shape, but the "0.5" marking has worn off the cap of the pen that has seen the most use (rubbed off from repeatedly closing the cap tight with my thumb). Thus it might be prudent to hold the pen cap from the sides when closing a multiliner pen. Blog entry.

I have gotten a lot of questions about what I use in the detail of my drawings so I wanted to share! I use @copicmarker’s “Multiliners” (in a variety of line weights) for outlines and details! Easter Journal entry. Had a great day :)

This is my favourite spot on the whole of Cockatoo Island. I used my new 'wine'Copic Multiliner SP and some ultramarine watercolour.

this is a nice bavarian beer, and i like the bottle, especially that top. sep 23 07, copic multiliner .01, plus watercolour (that's more of a wine background colour than a beer, really)

Hey ^^

Another finished piece :D this one took me a while, not because the details (first there aren´t many and second the butterflies still turned out....weird ._.) but because it's a large drawing and it was difficult to make the body porpotions right. In fact you can see that the body is a bit...tilted to the right...oh welll....

Pratice comes perfection :D

And i also tried to make a piece more personal and turned out like this XD Still like it though

Hope you like it

Same ship from the other side (after lunch) . Same pole too. Weird thing was - the pole seemed to move. About 45 min. I had no burgundy colour with me, so I used magenta and violet. Boy, I'm tired!

-Work in Progress-

I've always loved the way graffiti looks. This is my first attempt at the kind of style I like.

This was one of my few EDiM sketched for 2013. I am getting ready to go to Bali and wanted to get my hand in sketching Balinese patterns.

I love this hairdryer. Because it's a professional one it just goes on and on drying. I had an old black one ( nearly 20 years old & still going) that I used for workshops to dry the paint so that we could get on to the next step.

I used Copic multiliners, watercolors, and Copic markers to finish my sketch.

An ACEO I drew for someone in a pick-a-theme swap on kakao-karten-de, to the theme "Middle Ages/Rennaisance"... When I read that the Black Death may be responsible for part of the Rennaisance, the idea to draw a plague doctor took root.

We went to the Botanical Gardens yesterday to draw. I've drawn the bamboo there a number of times and I always enjoy drawing it.

Another drawing from what I could see from my window. The laundry caught my eye.

It got darker and darker while I was drawing this and about midday the street lights came on. I had to keep adding shadows. That's my phone and diary at the end of the bed and the tv guide up by the pillows. The pillows are mostly piled up like this because I hurt my back quite some years ago but was told not to sit, but to lie. So I often do things propped up with my pillows.

This was my second drawing in over 20 years.

Hand zentangle swap. I loved doing this! But my hands are BIG (these were done on Bristol 6 x 9" in size).

I made the pair so both my partner and I could have one. My partner for this swap was one of my very first partners (almost 2 years ago). We still swap regularly. I liked the idea that we each have one, although we live (literally) a world apart.

The black was drawn in Copic multiliners, the colors with gel pens.

My Favorite Things - 2020 Card Design Superstar

Oh boy I struggle so much with colouring. I got these gorgeous dragons recently and was going to make a CAS card, but Mr Dragon turned out so cute I thought I'd keep going and see what happened. I love the cloud and brick stencils but the colours didn't "pop" enough with Mr Dragon, so I played around adding Copics and pens to them. I've never been much of a colourist, but I think Mr Dragon and his castle will bring some bright birthday cheer.

beer mug hand drawn by me

When I heard that J. P. Patches (AKA Chris Wedes) died a couple weeks ago, I decided that I would honor his memory (and all my fond memories of J. P.) by sketching the bronze statue (sculpted by Kevin Pettelle) in the Fremont neighborhood. I finally got out to the statue this morning. It was still festooned with flowers, cards and trinkets from his many fans. (Copic Multiliner SP pen, watercolor, Stillman & Birn sketchbook)
