I found these fabulous umbrellas outside a restaurant in Seville. Of course I was instantly attracted to them for their vivid colours...! I think the people having lunch thought I was bonkers taking lots of different shots of them...!

These little yellow flowers were down on grass level next to one of the ponds, and there were hundreds of them. A tiny Laura Ingalls Wilder (as played by Melissa Gilbert) could go running through them.
Here's one example of something I'd meant to do when I posted these pictures but have since lost interest out of the moment. While we were in this park eating our lunch, Robin and I got to talking about the popular trend of removing statues of cancelled figures from history, specifically people of historical significance like George Washington who'd done good things but also owned slaves. I was going to talk about that somewhere on here, but I'm not in the mood any more. I might get to that later. For now, I'll just point out that, historically speaking, George Washington was pretty cool, but Thomas Jefferson was a huge jackass. This all has nothing to do with little yellow flowers. It's just where the conversation went.

Seems commonplace now but was a big deal at the time. And some oldtimers like my dad were skeptical at first.

I posted a photo similar to this, but not the same, on the Sliders Sunday (group) today. This one is different, and I am posting it to Flickr on April 27, 2014, but not to Sliders Sunday. There now; that should be clear as a Texas River.
