Well it's been a while. I hope you are all well. This is a little melanistic wood mouse that has taken up residence in my garden.
A tiny mass-produced starfighter designed for use in large fleets as a scout or light fighter.

Entry to the Small Starfighter Contest.
Well, it's been nearly six weeks since I last posted anything. I have my reasons though.
1) Homefront building, which is completed.
2) I now have a job.
3) Trying to finish Eagle Scout and another project before the end of next school year.
4) Swim team.
Takes up a lot of time, those four things. And it's summer. Gosh.
Hopefully next summer will be more restful.
Oh, and this will be coming to BF with me, along with another small starfighter that will hopefully be better designed. :P
I'll be there probably Thursday, Friday, Saturday, and just long enough on Sunday to pick up my stuff and finish up.

Monna and I were lucky enough to see the Modest Mouse show at Williamsburg Brooklyn. The first night 7-23-10 was canceled due to a tornado warning after 5 songs. They re-scheduled for 9-14-10 and did not disappoint, a truly rocking show.
And a cute one, at that! High Key option for 52 in 2016. We'll see if I manage something better...

This is my friends little pet mouse Daisy. I was having fun with her tonight and perched her on a gigantic sunflower. This was the best capture I caught. She is SO active, but she really is adorable! This is one of those photos that I hope makes you smile again!!! :) View On Black
The field mouse is also referred to as the wood mouse.
*Distinctive features and behaviours -
A less uniform mouse with sandy brown fur and a white to grey belly.
A cautious mouse which always sniffs anything unfamiliar before approaching.
Its back feet are large which give it a good spring for leaping.
Its tail is roughly the same length as its head and body.
It stores berries and seeds in the autumn in underground burrows or sometimes in old birds' nests.
It thrives in woodland, rough grassland and gardens.
This species of mouse does not have a very strong smell.
*Diet -
Field mice tend to mostly eat seeds from trees, but they also eat snails, insects, fruit, berries, nuts and fungi.
*Field mice and people -
The field mouse is the most common and widespread mouse species in the UK. They can be tricky to spot during the day, they're lightning quick and are nocturnal. They sleep in burrows when it's light and venture out to forage during the evenings.
Field mice play an important role in woodland ecology. They help to regenerate woods when their forgotten underground seed stores germinate into new trees. And they are so closely associated with woods and trees, that dips in the availability of tree seeds results in fewer field mice. This has a knock-on effect on owl populations that rely of field mice as prey.
Another wee mouse brought home by Erik this week. This one was lucky as we rescued it unharmed. Erik has eaten at least three mice this week.

oh dear, I was in a terrible dilemma yesterday! I found the tiniest mouse on my deck- she could hardly walk yet. Because we live in the country, we often have mice around and sometimes in the fall, they get into the house which absolutely freaks me out. So you can imagine my dilemma- kitty was outside but oh dear, mousie was so cute and I couldn't bear to think of kitty killing her so I put kitty inside and got my camera out and then let the poor little thing hide somewhere! It looks like she went through cobwebs and dust looking for her mom. LOL
have a great day and thanks for your visits.
So I was building a Lowell sphere when it occurred to me that I could turn it into Mickey Mouse. Articulated.

This is my MNF Chloe. I wish i'd taken some pics of her when I got her because she was in super bad shape. I'm a bit dissapointed because the seller told me she was white skin, but she's normal, so I had to rethink my faceup plans. No matter, she turned out adorable!
I also found some spare Leekeworld ears I had lying around after another doll was sold, and so she's sporting some cute ickle mouse ears!
I think she's so cute, I can't wait to have some nice clothes for her. I'll keep this wig for her though, I'm happy with her bare essentials look X3
She just needs a name x.x She's Dervish's demon familiar and hangs out with him, helping him with his spells and occasionally his love life. Nothing like sending a halfling demon to win the heart of your crush XD
I've had a pleasant afternoon in the garden today, waiting to see if the Blue Tit chicks leave the nest box. They decided not to bother so I'll be watching again tomorrow (and the next day). There was plenty of other things to watch like the mice that live at the bottom of the garden.
We saw dozens of these native Cotton Mice in the Long Pine Key Campground located in the Everglades National Park. Their tails and short and kind of remind me of a hamster. They didn't seem to mind our presence. At the time of our visit, the campground was unoccupied since it is out of season. The summer (of course) is the hottest time of the year.
Updated my mouse mod a bit more and changed the colors so figured I'd take a cute picture to show it off :)
Stupid ISO but I will try again in better light. A magical evening as a sparrowhawk skimmed past me (for the second night in a row) just above this mouse's head.
Wood Mouse - Garden. They appear to have nested under the stream liner and pop up around the stream from time to time to collect food spillage from the bird table adjacent.
