And now something a little different.
I do not know terribly much about the Mouse Guards, one pictured here, I just think they look nice. I have seen Shelly post about them, I also know there was a movie in the works at some point but it ran into problems and I don’t think it’s on anymore.
I saw a Getcrazybricks Kickstarter thing about these a while ago and decided to support enough to get at least one figure just to see how they’re like. It arrived a few days ago and it looked great!
Due to the nature of these figures I went for exceptionally heavy editing with the colours. It’s a mouse with cape, shield and a sword, no need for strict realism here exactly.
This is obviously not an official Lego product but rather something that is compatible with the brick. Nevertheless, I'm treating it as Lego. It just shows how versatile the Danish toy is.

I've been working on making little fleece tops, scarves, and a few hats for mouse tree ornaments.
I bought the mice on clearance at Lowes after Christmas several years ago for less than a dollar each. I finally upgraded their outfits a bit. I used a thrift store red fleece scarf (0.50) and a thrifted craft kit ($2) that contained a variety of wool scraps. The striped scarves are just strips cut from thrift store kids tops (0.50 each). I did not need to hem any of the fabric so it made the process nice and easy. They look much more festive now.
I hung them on my mini tree which is Maileg inspired.
This mouse lived in a gap in a dry stone wall. It came most mornings to feed on bird seeds dropped by the birds on a feeder.
I really enjoyed photographing this tiny Harvest Mouse during a Wildlife Workshop. Amazing little creatures.
Well it's been a while. I hope you are all well. This is a little melanistic wood mouse that has taken up residence in my garden.
Crazy Tuesday: December decorations
I came across a set of wreath ornaments while shopping the other day and couldn't resist! Each one has a different animal inside (hare, fox, bird, and this little mouse).
“This latter was a remarkably large and beautiful animal, entirely black, and sagacious to an astonishing degree.”

loving my new lens
It appears that bird seed attracts all kinds of creatures other than birds. The reason I think this is a mouse and not a vole is because of the length of the tail which apparently is a lot longer for a mouse.
This is a computer mouse that glows when it’s in use. The orange bit pulsates. There is also a dock that charges the mouse and that is the green light on the picture. HMM
Yellow spiny mouse in a yellow world. I have no idea which sub-species it is. Have you?

The mouse on my desktop computer. It is around 20 or so years old, so it's held up well.
After setting up a small feeding station for birds we spotted this small mouse that decided to steal our sunflower seeds.
We did not mind though as it was a welcome distraction while waiting for some birds to arrive.
You can see that he stuffed several of them in his mouth, loaded up he would take a quick dash back to his hide-out to stock up his supplies.
Mouse Creek Falls is in the Big Creek Area of the Smokey Mountains National Park. On the day of this photo, the flow was high following heavy rains. Perfect time to be there!
Mouse Creek Falls is located in the Great Smoky Mountain National Park. It's a moderate 2 mile hike to reach, though mostly uphill. There was a bit of ice along the trail as we started out which made things a bit more challenging but overall not to bad.

She's been a good helper. I usually post these pics on my other account sherbet* and use this one just for my wigs. But I wish I hadn't started two now . Easier to post in just one!
Stupid ISO but I will try again in better light. A magical evening as a sparrowhawk skimmed past me (for the second night in a row) just above this mouse's head.
