A sunny morning brought this lovely little creature out onto our patio to make the most of the Rowan berries and the seed from the bird feeders (the Goldfinches are particularly messy birds - much of what they get from the feeder ends up on the ground...). As usual, my ID abilities are woeful - so, any ideas of what sort of mouse this is anyone?

Something a little different. My son's cat Mouse is the most vocal, affection demanding cat I have ever encountered. Often while I work at my computer, she parks herself on the carpet and meows or daydreams about sneaking outside. I usually don't pay too much attention but this time the light from the sliding glass door looked great so I took a few shots.
The peeling paint at the Prison offered a whole spectrum of Pareidolia if one took time to look. I spotted this patch of blue that I thought looked like a mouse. I noticed one of the lady photogs taking some as well.
(Pareidolia - the perception of apparently significant patterns or recognizable images, especially faces, in random or accidental arrangements of shapes and lines)

This is an old shot of Lucy that I found while cleaning out my photo files. My problem is as I'm sure it's the same with many of you is that I keep far too many photos but it sure is fun to go back and walk down memory lane. She's actually on top of my laptop which is covered with a kitchen towel to protect from her claws. She always has and still does insist on laying on top of everything I want to use.
Well all I can say about this shot of mouse is next time I shoot this close I'm gonna have to dust her first! A friend of mine recently acquired a Nikon 55mm f/2.8 NIKKOR Micro and was thinking that before she could use it she would need a tripod. Well at 1/500s exposure you can shoot just about anything sharp as long as you can hit the focus, at f/4 I sure didn't get much depth but the focus is on the eye and I think this works. The focus technique is to pre-focus and then move the camera in and out while you click away when you think you're got the focus where you want it. Applied a little Selective Color and desaturated to keep the attention on the eye and blurred a bit here and there as a means of dust control :)

Typical weekend off work and it's raining so a session with the harvest mice, this is Nutsy our little male mouse, always willing to climb.
Not a computer mouse but a small crocheted mouse, only 5cm tall, looking into a mysterious sky, filled with pretty lights.
