The mouse eats the food in the bird tables

Maus Castle, which is actually called Thurnberg, was occasionally the favourite residence of the electors of Trier. Archbishop Balduin built the castle between 1353-1388 for the protection of his newly acquired territory. It was one of the most modern and technically most interesting constructions of its time. In around 1370 the counts of Katzenelnbogen built the mighty stronghold Neu-Katzenelnbogen on the adjoining mountain.

Among the local people, the impression arose that the castles spied on themselves like cat and mouse. So both bastions got their nicknames, under which they are known until today. Hope everyone had a wonderful weekend. :-)

Normally prey comes to the nest mutilated or not in a condition as nice as this mouse. To me, that adds to the angst we feel when confronted with raw nature. To see a cute little mouse hanging from the beak of a mother owl, providing food for her chick, stirs some emotion in me. That emotion is what I look to generate in an image, even if it makes me uncomfortable. (Bubo virginianus) (Sony a1ii, 400mm lens with a 1.4 extender yielding 560mm, f/4, 1/320 second, ISO 640).

OCHNA THOMASIANA

After it flowers, it produces some seeds. The seeds start with a green color and turn black. Sometimes when the seeds fall, it resembles the Disney character "Mickey Mouse."

Caught this young Wood Mouse foraging at the back of my garden. One of a family living in my wood pile.

Rusty [ our cat] brought in this live mouse the other day. I, of course, rescued it immediately so no harm could come to it.

The price of freedom is posing for my camera before release. This container normally holds my mother's ring I inherited after her passing five years ago. She probably wouldn't have approved of me putting the mouse in it.

One of these days I'm going to cross Big Creek and shoot Mouse Creek from the other side of the river, but on this day that water flow was just too strong to even think about it. :) -H3

Taken in the Trossachs in Scotland. This tiny mouse is the smallest European rodent to give you an idea of its size the lead to my M/Home is about 10mm across.

I saw this bronze mouse on a ledge in downtown Broken Arrow, so thought I would work some post photo textures for Sliders Sunday post.

The harvest mouse is tiny - an adult can weigh as little as a 2p piece! It prefers habitats with long grass, but you are most likely to spot its round, woven-grass nests - or in a teapot.

A mouse raiding the bird feeders in our Cotoneaster hedge. It's getting really cheeky about it, so we are going to have to move the feeders. My daughter has decided it's called Kevin, so I can't put a trap out now !
