The northern pygmy-owl hunts by day, and birds comprise roughly 40 percent of its diet. The small owl also eats small mammals such as squirrels, as well as amphibians, snakes, and even insects.

Mouse walks the fences several times an hour, moving briskly and pausing occasionally for a closer look or a short, gruff bark.

Harvest Mouse, Cambridgeshire

This mouse has been raiding the birdfeeders in our Cotoneaster hedge for a few months. it's finally made its way inside one and obvously felt quite secure as I was inches away and didn't scare it off.

Tiny knitting on tiny needles. He's just over 2.5 inches tall.

Eurasian Harvest Mouse / micromys minutus. (Captive bred) Derbyshire. 23/05/15.

I've been sorting through some unprocessed, archived files this afternoon. The discovery of cute little Harvest Mice 'hibernating' in one of them, made me smile! So, time to show a few I think...

(and spread more smiles with a bit of luck)

How I wish this had been a wild sighting, but unfortunately it wasn't! The images were made during a private photography workshop just over three years ago now and the HM were captive bred.

Everybody loves a traditional roller coaster which is why there's no doubt that you will love riding the Hili Mouse. This golden oldie has been revamped and is ready to take you for a speedy spin, dip and twist. Stick your hands up in the air and let out a whoop as you and your family enjoy this classic ride. Feel your heart thumping in your chest as you countdown the clicks on your slow ascend to the top before being thrust down the winding track.

What a little mouse will do to get the flowers!!!

one of the mouse family from last summer

This little mouse was rummaging in our patch of geraniums in the garden. He was not timid and allowed the family to watch and film him munching on seed heads. The mouse is a true field mouse, otherwise known as a long-tailed mouse or wood mouse

This yellow mouse has a tail that has a bell attached to it. Actually it was a cat toy before Ruby took it as hers. This is her favorite toy so far, I've never had a dog that loves bells so much. Most dogs I know have always liked toys that squeak.

Captured at night on my DSLR camera trap with one off camera flash behind the subject and using a Camtraptions V3 sensor and triggers. As there was little colour in the image, I decided to convert it to black and white.

** UPDATE ** I am really pleased to have this image awarded as "Category winner-camera traps" in the Nature TTL photographer of the year 2021 competition

Seen in Victoria Park, in Truro, Nova Scotia, Canada.

Mouse that i caught! It's been a week i tried to catch it. It started to live in my room for almost a month, i'm okay if its willing to share my rent, but it didn't. So i decided to throw him away.

No need to panic, this is only a toy mouse. Mousie was a Christmas present for Linus and it is still very much loved as you can see here. :)

Most people will know of the latest interest of painting pebbles and then reporting them on facebook, I have seen many over the last year, but this one is lovely I was very tempted to bring it home, but I didn't I took it's photo and re hid it, didn't put it on facebook as I am not on there, but it' is so beautifully painted it deserves a mention. Found at Martin Mere WWT.

Caught this little cheeky chap eating from my bird feeder.

Large Pencil-tailed Tree Mouse (Chiropodomys major) - Danum Valley, Malaysia

A particularly photogenic mouse stops scrambling through the vegetation and takes a second to look at me. These mice live off a mostly vegetarian diet and keep to the trees. The reading I have done states that Chiropodomys is in general an uncommon and seldom studied genus, in contrast I found these mice to be relatively common in the jungle at night. Atleast this was the case during the second field season, during my first field season I never encountered them, its anecdotal evidence but I think perhaps because it was a mast year with many trees producing fruit and seeds that these mice were easier to encounter as they moved around looking for food.

Harvest Mouse was so named because they inhabit arable fields where they love to feed on cereal grains. This is a captive individual but when I let him climb onto a wheat stalk he immediately extracted a grain and polished it off there and then. Modern combine harvesters cannot be good news for Harvest Mice but "Beetle Banks" have given them a surprise lifeline. These were banks of tall, uncut vegetation between cereal fields intended to harbour beneficial predatory insects that feed on arable pests. But because they are never cut, the tall vegetation is the perfect place for Harvest Mouse nests. A study in Leicestershire in 1998 found that beetle banks held 117 nests per hectare compared with just 14 nests per hectare of hedgerows.

Welcome to the world of Mouse Guard, the graphic novel, comic and role playing game by David Petersen. These great stories follow the adventures of Lieam, Saxon and Kenzie. Three of the Guards finest guards mice. Their duty is to act as guides and guardians to the common mice living in all the out lying villages. They face many dangers in their adventures and never back down when challenged by a predator.

This Lego model was inspired by the book "Fall" and took 6 weeks to complete. It was debuted at Brickcon 2014 in Seattle where it won the "Best Art" and "Best in Show" awards. Seattle's ArchLUG will be presenting more classic Mouse Guard LEGO creations in 2015 at Emerald City ComicCon.

Mouse: Linus wake up ! Linus ! LINUS !!!

Linus: What ... do ... you ... want ?!!!

Mouse: I have to tell you a story.

Linus: No !

Mouse: What do you mean, no ? It's important !

Linus: I have enough of your stories and I'm sleeping.

Mouse: How come you are talking if you are asleep ?

Linus: I always talk in my sleep, ask mom !

Mouse: So you listen to my story now ?

Linus: NO ! I need my sleep to recharge my batteries !

Mouse: To do what ?

Linus: Hunt pesky mice, for instance !

Mouse: You haven't caught any mouse in months.

Linus: I could catch one if I wanted to. I could catch YOU !

Mouse: I don't think so.

Linus: And why ? I'm a cat after all !

Mouse: Yes, but you are specialised on THE BIRDS. Mice are different, we are smarter.

Linus: I wouldn't tempt fate if I were you. Cats are quite smart too.

Mouse: Cats in general, maybe, but you .....

Linus: That's enough ! You better sneak off now before I forget that I'm specialised on birds !

There is another capture in the comments. :)
