"I have seen the sea when it is stormy and wild; when it is quiet and serene; when it is dark and moody. And in all these moods, I see myself."

A pretty waterfall in Pennsylvania. Here is lowered the shadows, decreased the clarity, lightened the highlights, and added some vignetting to play around with the mood of this capture. Also reduced the saturation and vibrancy too.

Thank you for stopping by! :)

Thanks for the visit

Going through some old shots while isolating due to Covid and here is one from the end of August of a moody Druridge Bay

I took this photo at Frying Pan Point, a short walk from the Port Arthur historic site. Its name is a bit obvious if you see it from above ;) I guess the site itself is the main attraction which is why I didn't encounter another soul at any time on my walk out to the point or back.

Todays fun fact: The biggest postcode in the world by land area is postcode 0872 in Australia. It covers 1.16 million square kilometres, in Western Australia, Northern Territory and South Australia. If it were a country, it would rank 25th in the world. Can you imagine being the postman there !

Have a great week, and thanks for any likes or comments -they’re always appreciated!

Waterscape 41/100 in 2025

Gotta love a moody mountain when you know you have a lovely dry warm place to go.

A moody, damp morning at Emerald lake in Yoho National Park, didn’t stop these die hards from getting some canoe action in 👍❤️

I have captured this comp/scene on way too many occasions, but it is so hard to resist when it gives off fabulous reflections of a stunning sunrise. On this morning, the clouds, steam and rising sun combined to produce a more colourful and moody image than I normally capture from the marina

Moody sunrise from Killcare Beach on the Central Coast, NSW, Australia.

I hear loud laughter.

I look down from the bridge onto the Neckar:

There are two women in their boat ...stuck in the mud.

One women has found a stick in the water and is trying to free the boat. :-)))

In Humboldt County, California, from a point of view about 100 meters offshore. We had a ‘negative tide’ that morning, a low tide below the average low tide at that location. The water where I was standing when I took the photo was as deep as a modest puddle, and exposed ocean floor is visible at the right edge of the photo.

Got soaked this morning but got a few decent shots around Bamburgh and Seahouses once the flat cloud and rain passed by and left some proper moody skies, this one as the rain fell to my left so used my 70-200 with lens hood to protect me for the shot

Lower Mt. Townsend trail.

I'm trying not to smile here, but it's not easy guys Xx

Oh, my little girl, please do not cry… Mummy is going to buy you a pumpkin… and we’ll take it home, OK?

Late morning light through the clouds over Nubble Lighthouse in York, Maine. Extended the shutter here to smooth out the water and the clouds to give a dreamy view of this pretty location.
