Three carabiners clipped into swivel, probably could fit one more. On the left carabiner is a traditional Blake's Hitch tie-in on 11mm Fly. The two carabiners on the left are a "closed" split tail system tied on to 11.5mm Poison Ivy with a Knut (the friction hitch).
The Festival of Stuff finale was bursting with delectable making madness, this time through the theme of mini-golf. We built an 18-hole Crazy Materials Golf Course for our visitors to play, as well as filling the street outside the Institute of Making with demonstrations and making stations.
Modification (rebrick) of Lego set 40487 "Sailboat adventure" with
- changed colors
- rolled up sail
- simplified bow, rudder
Added mounting bosses for "low rider" front pannier rack, and guides for wiring for dynamo lighting system.
I was a little sad his product markings were going to go away, but they're actually still visible after the dye job.
Macro Monday - textile textures
This is my canvas sun hat. Above is the outside hat band. Hat did not have a chin strap so I added one. Below is the underside of the front part of the brim. The tan color was not dark enough for my taste, so I took a Sharpie and added some cross-hatching. I have no compunction about modifying my gear to work better for me.
Dawn's faceplate is pretty much done, I finally got to try out my dad's airbrush....booy it was super hard haha. but I guess I did a pretty decent job. I shouldn't be too hard on myself, this is my first time with an airbrush or any doll customizing whatsoever.
Really can't wait to put her together now and have many photosessions from now on :) but gotta wait a little while longer (waiting for one more thing)
