Basic approach: duplicate layer, make duplicate 80% multiply, copy skin from first layer and create top layer, blur gaussian 5 px, soften to 80% opacity, and finally blur out the person in the background by selecting and gaussian blur of 50%. This requires that the face layer be brought to the top to overlay the background correctly.
Yep, it was the original Melly and Me Sleepover Bag but with a few modifications, I turned this into a beach bag. It can also be an overnight bag too. It is lined with a waterproof fabric.

Here's your fully disassembled turret, at this point if you're not replacing the barrels with PETG or PVC then you can put everything back together and you're all done, if you're doing a barrel mod, read on.
I was a little sad his product markings were going to go away, but they're actually still visible after the dye job.
Macro Monday - textile textures
This is my canvas sun hat. Above is the outside hat band. Hat did not have a chin strap so I added one. Below is the underside of the front part of the brim. The tan color was not dark enough for my taste, so I took a Sharpie and added some cross-hatching. I have no compunction about modifying my gear to work better for me.
The Festival of Stuff finale was bursting with delectable making madness, this time through the theme of mini-golf. We built an 18-hole Crazy Materials Golf Course for our visitors to play, as well as filling the street outside the Institute of Making with demonstrations and making stations.
Dawn's faceplate is pretty much done, I finally got to try out my dad's airbrush....booy it was super hard haha. but I guess I did a pretty decent job. I shouldn't be too hard on myself, this is my first time with an airbrush or any doll customizing whatsoever.
Really can't wait to put her together now and have many photosessions from now on :) but gotta wait a little while longer (waiting for one more thing)

to have more clearence and to be more forgiving with longitudinal cracs the shape on the inner site of the wheel will be rounded.
